Chapter 2108: Do It
Chapter 2108: Do It
The plan broke down quite simply to Sylas, but to Fanelei it was like Sylas had suddenly become a mad scientist. At some point, Yamero began to laugh uproariously.
"Madman. A true madman. You know this isn't even your body, right? What does the little lady think of all of this?"
Fanelei had long stopped shuddering, though, her gaze replaced by a sharp focus.
Sylas' plan was insane, but it was the best idea they had right now.
What Sylas wanted to do was stratify her souls into the various Layers of her body, separating her Will into locations it shouldn't even be in.
There were two Layers one's Will was usually separated into. Those were the Will Manifestation and the Will Core Layers.
Often, the Will Core was where actual life was, while at the Will Manifestation tier was where the Will could begin imposing itself onto the world through telekinesis, and finally at the Soul Construct level, you had things like Rune Mastery.
When one thought of the Layers of the body, it was often thought of in terms of where the talent was hidden, and not often enough in terms of how those talents manifested themselves into the outside world.
What Fanelei was doing with her veins could actually be considered a form of Blood and Bone Essence manipulation. But she had skipped too many steps, the foundation was shoddy, and the Runes weren't as good as they could be.
Sylas couldn't do much about the Runes, not at this level… unless he changed things.
The plan was quite simple in Sylas' mind. He would separate out Fanelei's souls into their seven original pieces rather than allowing them to fuse together into one. Then, he could stretch them from the Will Manifestation Layer upward.
There were a perfect seven Layers above Will Core, each one getting closer and closer to what could be manipulated.
Those Layers were: Genes, Gene Talents, Blood Essence, Bone Essence, Comprehension, Soul Construct, and Will Manifestation.
Sylas would take the soul from Fanelei's first life and anchor it into the Gene Layer, he would take the second and anchor it into the Gene Talent Layer, the third and anchor it into Blood Essence—so on and so forth.
The reason he wanted to do this was to stratify Fanelei's Foundation and make it more accessible.
Usually, when one progressed from one Tier to the next, everything would be compressed into a Foundation that would form a platform to help you elevate to the next Tier.
When things were like this, Sylas couldn't do anything. The Genes and other Layers he was more familiar with existed between the F-tier and the D-tier. He could even have a decent understanding of the C-tier now, but it wouldn't be to the point he could snap a finger and create a Legendary Gene.
This stopped him from being able to help Fanelei.
However, if Sylas forced this stretching to occur, the line between Foundation and her current Tier would blur enough that, theoretically, he could access her far weaker Genes, Gene Talents, and so on.
If he could do that, then he would, one, be able to better understand her path, and two, he would be able to actually manipulate and change them.
The first thing this would do was ingrain Fanelei's path deeper. Right now, she was only trying to draw the various paths of her lives together by manipulating her Blood Essence and only peripherally her Bone Essence.
This was quite good considering everything happening here relied on her Analei bloodline in the first place. But this wasn't good enough, especially considering the true strength and secrets of the Analei were hidden much deeper in the Race Quintessence Layer that existed even below Will Core.
However, it could be so much better. Once again, the problem was the same: her Rune Mastery, and Sylas', were too low.
That said, Sylas felt that if he could successfully stratify her souls into the Layers of her body like he wanted to, he could separate things out into steps.
Basically, the more a soul was stretched, the more of its foundation would be accessible, and the deeper the parts of Fanelei's Foundation he could reach.
Which meant that, theoretically, he could help her perfect the F-tier all the way up to the D-tier.
This sort of madness would definitely only work with an Analei. If anyone else's soul was stretched like this, the only path forward would be death. No Will was meant to exist this far beyond their Will Core.
That was why Sylas could stretch every one of the souls up to the top Gene Layer. This would leave Fanelei's body itself without an anchor, and then she would die.
But what was most curious about this wild method that Sylas had come up with was the fact that along with seven souls… There were also seven Tiers: F, E, D, C, B, A, and S.
And now, Sylas was stretching them across seven Layers.
Was it a coincidence? He wasn't yet sure. But he bet he was going to find out very soon.
However, what Sylas felt in his bones was that the universe loved this sort of symmetry, this kind of repeated pattern, almost like how nature always seemed to blend seamlessly with mathematics.
Something about this just felt right to him.
"Let's do it," Fanelei said, her voice not leaving any room for doubt.
"Hold your horses," Yamero said. "How exactly are you planning to do this stretching in the first place? It's not as easy as thinking it. Plus, her souls right now are already somewhat stretched, it's just that it's more… crude. Well, stretched isn't the right word, but bits and pieces of them are definitely influencing the Blood Essence Layer."
Sylas nodded. All he had was a theory right now and no actual method.
But Fanelei surprised him.
"I can do it."
Without waiting for Sylas to say anything, her body began to shudder.
The pattern on her back was shredded apart, and she coughed up a mouthful of blood, but she didn't move from her place with her back facing Sylas.
She released a roar, and the sound of tearing filled the air.
