Chapter 2203: Big Bro
Chapter 2203: Big Bro
Elara had selected the world Sylas appeared on now not only for the sake of the ease, or just in how well she knew her brother. No.
She had selected it because should Earth take that region over.
The Path to Godhood would be clear.
Unfortunately…
Elara stuck her tongue out and scratched the back of her head a bit.
She may have been a bit too ambitious in the world she picked out.
"Good luck, big bro. But hey, if your little sister is out here running for her life, you have to struggle a bit too."
Elara giggled and kicked her feet up.
Okay… maybe she had also made it a bit harder on her brother because she was very much looking forward to reading about it through the Nexus.
What triggered Elara the most about Sylas' actions on the Mortal Plane was that he had taken a million years to finally start appearing on the Nexus. Because of that, it had also taken Elara a while before she could start reading about his actions.
Okay, maybe a "million" years was just barely a few months really. And maybe those few months had only been that much because Sylas fell into a time dilation. Otherwise, Sylas pretty much almost instantly started appearing on Earth's Nexus.
And then, because of his actions in the Rune Master Guild of the Milky Way, and then how he immediately started clearing the pirates of the Sanctum beyond that, he was already appearing in the Galaxy and then Sector Nexus pretty much instantly after he left Earth.
But that wasn't fast enough for Elara.
"Imagine. I have to wait MONTHS before I could read about you. The horror. And you actually took nearly two years to leave the Mortal Plane before we could get to the good stuff. You really dragged your feet at the end there too," Elara clicked her tongue, "I'm just helping you gather Karma a bit faster, that's all."
Elara smiled sweetly, letting her back slide off the rock face until it was laying on the ground. She kicked her feet up even higher, holding the two orbs in her hands.
The Efivara Clan was notorious, but they were an interesting sort of notorious.
They were what was known as a Nomadic Race. In normal times, this would mean something like they transferred around a lot—and in truth, they did.
Every two to three generations or so, a branch of the Efivara Clan would select a world to swallow. And then they would move once that world collapsed and repeat the process all over again.
However… in the context of the Demi-God Plane, a Nomadic Race didn't actually refer to their movement pattern, though it could.
The strictest definition of a Nomadic Race was one whose Genes were both incredibly flexible and variable. This was to mean that while they had a baseline of shared abilities, there was a wide range of difference from branch to branch and even within families with close bloodline ties.
The Efivara were maybe one of the most extreme cases of a Nomadic Clan. That was because other than a baseline of Death Energy all of them shared, the manifestation of that Death Energy was highly variable depending on the last planet they devoured, and even which location of said planet they had chosen to settle down on.
That meant that across the Efivara Clan, even on the same world, you could meet two with widely variable abilities.
But…
That wasn't just a matter of ability either. Sometimes, it also meant a wide variability of strength as well.
Even within the same bloodline structure, the Efivara Clan could have one child that manifested like a C-tier Race, and another who might call them brother or sister who manifested as an A-tier.
There were even some exceptionally rare instances of Efivara with S-tier Race characteristics being born from parents who were both D-tiers in ceiling.
This sort of wide variability amongst a Race made them a complete wild card. However, this also made it quite tough for them to consolidate power.
So few of them had great strength in the first place, and then they matched that with migration patterns that didn't allow them to lay down solid roots, on top of the fact after those two to three generations they spent sharing a world, they would often split off and separate, growing apart and choosing different lanes.
It was simply impossible to track and know them well, especially when it felt like they could be anything. It almost felt like they were only loosely related in the first place at all.
However… this was very much not the case.
It was well known that Efivara were highly protective of their own kind. Maybe it might be fine to kill one or two, but to clear out an entire branch of them so as to avoid having your world taken over or to take over a world they had already claimed—or in the case of what Sylas was trying to do… both… Well, that came with problems in itself.
The wide array of skill and talent level between the Efivara lay a path forward for vigilantism. There were a small number of powerful ones in the upper echelons of society that wouldn't allow you to bully the weaker of them in hopes that their Clan would produce more powerhouses like them so that they could eventually grow to match the best Clans of the Demi-God Plane.
If any random low level members could maybe produce an S-tier child, one could imagine just how protective the true powerhouses of the Efivara would be.
So… Elara might have gotten Sylas some pretty uppity and angry enemies. But it was for a very good cause, a very good cause indeed.
This dancing light between black and white-gold in her palm was the core to it all.
That world… if Earth's World Spirit could combine with it, it would open up a whole world of possibilities.
And shrug off some annoying "First Race" members at the same time.
"Don't say I've never done anything for you, big bro."
