Chapter 2212: Grade (2)

Chapter 2212: Grade (2)

Sylas roared and the Runes of both planets danced into wild fluctuations. Death Runes in such dense concentrations appeared around him, and for a moment, the Crimson Eye locked onto him, only to begin fading away again.

In its eyes, Sylas had already died. There was no way that—.

The Crimson Eye stopped fading as it caught onto something odd. Sylas was "dead", and yet he was still drawing on energy from it. His Vipermancy Profession was still there, as was his Rune Master.

They were drawing on a lot less energy than they did in the past, likely because Sylas had taken real steps toward making them his own, but he wasn't even nearly close to doing so fully yet.

The Crimson Eye blinked and then it began to burn, a fury shaking the star system.

BOOM.

Just as it was about to lock onto Sylas, the two worlds fully slipped through one another.

At their core, a shocking scene was taking place.

White gold and black gold flowed in rivers of molten metal, swirling and manifesting around one another in a beautiful sort of dancing balance. It was a sight that reflected itself in Sylas' heart as though it wanted him to see.

And then Earth's Grade began to increase.

In a single leap, they entered Grade 5 Gold status. But before that even settled down, they reached Grade 6, and then Grade 7.

The momentum steamrolled forward, the star system, and then the galaxy itself trembling beneath their presence.

The planet expanded, doubling in size, and then doubling again, and then again after that.

Soon, it looked like they were trying to rival even the size of a star before it unexpectedly began to shrink down on itself once more.

The land compressed, the water became heavier, the air more rich, the soil more gorgeously deep black.

Everything about the world became painted in a beauty that was hard to grasp, but on a deeper level than what the common man could see with the naked eye, there was a change occurring on the Runic level that left even the likes of Sylas in awe.

For a long time now Earth had been crippled. A once beautiful world, filled with so much potential, it was sliced to pieces by its enemies. Its Runes were twisted and then twisted again to slow their progress, to put a heel on their talent in hopes to one day make them subservient, to make them slaves.

But no more.

The Runes healed themselves, finally, and truly. Types of Runes Sylas had never even laid eyes on before formed by the billions, and then the trillions.

They were tiny and insignificant on their own, but together they formed a mesh that enveloped the entire world in an impossible sort of beauty.

The air just began to feel… fresh, almost like an underlying rot that had always been there was finally being flushed out, a rot they had grown so used to they didn't even feel it consciously before.

The lifespans of those born on Earth began to multiply, and in a single instant of time, without having done anything at all, they doubled.

The old became the young, and Sylas' grandfather, a man who had been slowly working his way back to his prime all this time, made the sudden leap.

What was left of his creaking joints and weary bones were washed away completely, something that even gaining an A-Grade Bloodline had been unable to do for him. There were just certain things that having aged once forced you to withstand.

But now, the last of his wrinkles was gone.

Earth didn't have many of the old left. It was hard for them to adapt to this new status quo. But it could be said that those who had were either lucky enough to have powerful family members, or they were truly talented in their own ways.

Had they been in their primes, they would have fought for supremacy right along with the best of the best.

And now they could.

And then came the largest evolution.

The base Grade of Earth's people increased.

From writhing on the ground under the weight of a Demi-God World, and wallowing in the dregs of F-tier Races, they grew to E-tier. And then from E-tier, they grew to D-tier. And then, without so much as a pause, they finally stabilized at the C-tier.

Suddenly, even the weakest of people on Earth had grown to the level of having a C-tier Race, their foundations having been completely overhauled and their lungs finally able to take in the breath of the Demi-God World.

Those with special bloodlines already, like the families that once stood shoulder to shoulder with the Grimblades, or the remainder of the Clypsians, or the Empires that only existed in name and proceeded to govern as though they didn't know Sylas could wipe them out with a palm whenever he chose… They inched much closer to the B-tier. Though they didn't quite make it, the gap between a C-tier Race and a C+ Race was enormous.

Earth broke through to Grade 8, and then Grade 9, and then Grade 10.

Its momentum simply seemed to be truly impossible to stop.

But unfortunately, it did.

It reached a ceiling that couldn't be breached so easily, a hard cap to the Legendary Grades that was simply impenetrable.

A sea of white gold and black gold light swam out, forming an illusory shell around the world. It enveloped even the star system itself, and then… this shell began to slowly crack as though Earth was breaking free of its cocoon.

The cry of phoenixes and the roar of dragons seemed to peal across the skies. Or maybe those legendary creatures were simply myths created to understand the joyous orchestra of the universe's happiness.

Earth broke through, stabilizing at the Quasi Legendary Grade.

Fruits began to bloom across trees, Dungeons were flooded with energy, and high above, a Crimson Eye looked down, its gaze locking onto Sylas Grimblade.
