Chapter 2222: Second
Chapter 2222: Second
Sylas used his Multiplier Reward right after without missing a single beat. But he didn't use it on his Menace Reward like one might have expected, nor his other rewards. He had a feeling that the Evolved Metarock didn't need to be multiplied, it would suit just fine for his needs.
However, this was a fascinating opportunity. So, after sending off the Merit Reward to his grandfather, Sylas used the Multiplier Reward on it.
When the first tome fell, it radiated a dense darkness. But when this one fell, it was radiating an endless flood of life. It was such a bright white gold that Sylas couldn't even look at it directly, his eyes squinting in even the attempt.
By this point, Sylas' eyes were very powerful. He had evolved them to the C-tier thanks to Gralith, and after evolving to the Demi-God Plane, it had likewise reached that stage.
They weren't weak by any means. And yet, even he couldn't look at the tome directly for a long while.
Slowly, the light faded and a beautiful tome with angel wing markings and bright halos appeared before him. And, as expected… It radiated the aura of Life and the Heaven Creation Path.
This saved Sylas a lot of trouble in finding something like this. The problem, of course, was that he didn't really have anyone he trusted to give this to.
He had barely sensed his mother's path, and he felt that she might be well suited to this. But she had already been taken and he wasn't sure when he would be able to find her again.
And, honestly, even if he could just send this book to her directly, he definitely couldn't do so.
Right now, his mother was just an F-tier. As far as he could tell, she was taken in as a talent to be nurtured, but it was hard to say what sort of treatment she would receive.
This tome was likely more valuable to wherever she was taken than his mother herself was. Sending this to her would likely either get her killed in the worst case, and even in the best case he would probably lose it until he could destroy wherever she was now.
Right now, Sylas had no need to hate the organization that took his mother, and given how many other things he had on his plate, adding another enemy wasn't the best idea.
So, for now… Sylas kept it for himself.
He hadn't been interested in other Rune Paths before, and even now he didn't have the time to devote to learning an entirely new Rune Creation Path. But, after being inspired for a Path his Classes could take, he couldn't shake himself free of the idea.
He wanted to convert his Cryst Emperor Class into a Heaven Creation Path.
Then he wished to convert his Chaotic Sovereign Class into a Hell Creation Path.
What he was missing was his third Class, one that would fit for his Fathomless Creation Path.
What Sylas realized was that Rune Mastery would always be his strongest asset. The importance to him was astronomically far beyond everything else.
By extension, the best way to maximize his Classes was by directly tying them into Rune Mastery as well. But it was incredibly difficult to do so with his current circumstance.
His Fathomless Rune Creation Path simply didn't perfectly map onto any one of his current Classes. The Runes they used weren't compatible enough with him.
It was either he learn an entirely new Rune Creation Path or he find a roundabout method.
Sylas' plan was simple. If his grandfather could master Rune Creation through another Path, then the changes to their bloodline would enlighten him to things he didn't quite understand, and make the path easier.
Maybe it was because of his family and his grandfather had been guiding him since he was young… but Sylas didn't feel any inherent resistance to this at all. He just saw it as learning from his grandfather, something he had always done.
The trouble was that he didn't have anyone left to do the same with the Heaven Path.
He wasn't actually sure what Path his sister would end up taking. His father might take the Heaven Path along with his mother, but he was in the same situation she was.
Sylas originally planned to be patient about all this. He didn't have to exactly overhaul everything right from the very start, and he felt like he had more than enough power and talent right now to do as he pleased.
But suddenly… he could feel a noose tightening around his neck.
Something also told him that this was going to be far from the only way the system forced him to prove himself. And maybe, its asks would only grow wilder from here.
Sylas didn't have time to slowly find someone who matched his trust and talent requirements. So…
He could only do it himself.
'Chaotic Sovereign has enough overlap with Fathomless Rune Creation, it just has more with Hell Rune Creation. But, I can twist its arm and shift its path a bit. So, there's only one path forward now…'
Sylas looked at the Life Tome in front of him, his eyes flickering.
He was going to have to do the one thing he didn't want to waste time doing.
He was going to have to learn another Rune Creation Path.
Sylas thought about the Creation of Key badge again. If he was going to try to learn another Path as quickly as possible, it came across that he should try to use it now.
He always had such scarce information on Rune Mastery, and every time he found a huge store of information, he surpassed it almost too quickly.
Maybe it was time to change that.
BOOM.
Sylas' gaze flickered and he looked off in the direction of his grandfather.
Then, a light smile spread across his face.
In that case, maybe he and his grandfather both could make this trip together.
After all, the Grimblades had just gained a second Rune Creator.
