Chapter 447: Will Levels [Bonus]

Chapter 447: Will Levels [Bonus]

Sunniva grimaced, but for the most part, after she got over the fact she might have been violated, she leveled a cold glare at Sylas.

The world was different now. If she acted like she would on a civilized Earth and let her emotions rule her, she wouldn’t be endearing; she would be a fool.

Well, maybe to the right people she would be. But Sylas certainly wasn’t one of them.

The number of women who had suffered such a thing were probably too numerous to count by now, especially since men had been far more likely to do something as stupid as click [Yes] for the Trial.

Rather than crying about it, it would be better if she found a way to survive and make Sylas pay for what happened here today.

“I’m sure I don’t need to explain your situation,” Sylas began, not minding Sunniva’s reaction. His gaze didn’t even so much as look away from her eyes. He was entirely focused on reading the changes in her expression in case she did something. As for whether she thought he raped her or not, that was just not his concern. He didn’t care what she thought. “Be helpful to me and I can give you a chance to survive. Be the opposite, and I can simply kill you here. The choice will be yours.”

Sylas knew that Sunniva was a Ravenclaw, but after seeing the Sylphs attack Bloom and Mark, he had some speculations brewing in his heart.

Plus, there was still that professor that got Cassarae’s mother practically banished by the government.

The people of this world, if there were enough benefits on the table, might choose short-term success over long-term stability.

If the Ravenclaws could choose the Sylphs… why could they not choose him?

As expected, Sunniva’s gaze flickered momentarily, but it was hard to tell exactly what she was thinking.

“… What do you want to know from me?”

“The exact location of the other checkpoints, for starters.”

“I cannot tell you that.”

Sylas didn’t reply, giving her a level stare.

Sunniva found herself feeling more uncomfortable the longer the silence went on. Usually, Sylas would have said something by now, asking why or pressing her. But he seemed completely content to sit in the silence, so much so that she eventually had to grit her teeth and speak.

“There is no assurance that you’ll do as you say. How can I just tell you what you want to know without any assurances?”

“We will sign an agreement.”

Sylas’ gaze flickered, feeling a bit confused. Didn’t they know about signing agreements?

To be fair, he had learned about it from a much more advanced Race, the Sylphs. It failed when he tried it with Nosphaleen, but that was only because she was no longer deemed an equal by the system.

Sunniva, obviously, wouldn’t face such an issue. They were still in the Summoning, so they all still had a chance to be treated as VIPs by the system.

However, he would have thought that such a core member of the Ravenclaws would be aware of this already.

“You have a Template?” Sunniva asked, feeling slightly relieved. If he was willing to use a Template on something like this, there might really be a chance.

When she said these words, it suddenly hit Sylas.

‘Forming a contract through the system must not be as easy as I assumed. The requirements to sign an equal contract place emphasis on the Wills of the two parties. If there’s too large a gap between them, then one party can unilaterally withstand the backlash.

‘I already knew that after asking the Madness Key, but what I didn’t consider was the fact that you might have to have a certain level of Will to trigger such a thing in the first place.’

Until now, Sylas’ Will had undergone three transformations. The first time was in the Slithering Madness Dungeon, where he gained Telekinesis and his ‘A Flexible Will’ Title. The second time during his battle with Azrael, where he gained ‘A Blazing Will’. Finally, there was the change he made after succeeding on the Will challenge stairs, where he finally formed ‘A Tangible Will’.

He wasn’t sure just yet if these were just the random names of Titles or if they represented real levels of Will like he had experienced with Rune Enlightenment and Rune Breath. But not only was he determined to find out after this, but he also had a feeling that the minimum requirement for triggering such a contract was to have a Will of at least the first level.

He had a feeling that most people in this world lacked Telekinesis because their Will state was too low.

As expected, when Sylas tried to trigger an agreement between himself and Sunniva, it was like grabbing at air. There was nothing real to clamp on to.

Without meeting the minimum Will requirement, it seemed that the system wouldn’t even allow such an agreement to be formed.

‘It seems that strong Will is a double-edged sword… you would think that her having weak Will would allow me to just force her into slavery, but this doesn’t seem to be the case…’

That said, the agreements through the system always required mutual agreement even when one party’s Will was far superior. So, there had never been a slavery aspect to it in the first place.

If you wanted something like that, you would need a rare Template like the one he stole from Vayu.

Unfortunately, that was gone now.

‘I will need to think of another solution, then.’

The information about the checkpoints was important. This wasn’t because he was so gung-ho about defeating the Ravenclaws, but rather because he, well, one, wanted to clear this Multi Quest, and two… he had a feeling that ruining the Ravenclaws would ruin the plans of the Sylphs as well.

Sunniva was too good of a target to give up on so easily.

‘This place likely won’t be safe forever, but at least for now, I doubt that anyone will come to bother me in the short term. In fact…’

Sylas’ intention moved and Nosphaleen’s body appeared.
