Chapter 584: Preparations (1)
[Drilling Bolt (FF+)]
[Level: 30]
[Ability: Drilling Surge]
[Damage is tripled]
[Limit: 30,000 Attack]
[Durability: 30/30]
[Cost: 50,000 (F) coins]
Sylas bought 800 of these Drilling Bolts for 40 million Coins.
Although he wouldn't be able to get anywhere near the cap of 30,000 Attack, the value of tripling Attack was far too great to pass up on.
It was not only the largest boost that Sylas had ever seen, but the way it worked would mitigate one of the biggest weaknesses of his telekinesis.
Drilling Bolt generated a lot of forward, twisting momentum. Sylas' telekinesis tended to get stuck after the initial puncture because that point was the equivalent of lifting a heavy weight. His telekinesis could only exhibit about 200 pounds of force when his Gluttony Seed was activated, so if a bolt got stuck in bone and flesh, it would be severely weakened.
This bolt, though, would form a spiraling drill that could remove that worry from Sylas completely. For once, he might even be able to use these bolts to cut through several enemies at once.
Sylas was now satisfied with his attack repertoire, having used up 80 million of his over 160 million.
Was it extravagant to spend so much on what were mostly one-time use weapons?
Almost certainly.
But Sylas felt that it would work out in his favor in the long run. He had a feeling that what he would gain from this Dungeon would be unlike anything he had ever gained before. Otherwise, the power of an entire government wouldn't be moving just for the sake of its benefits.
'Now I need methods of defense and recovery...'
Recovery was a bit tricky because Sylas was both unwilling to rely on Elixirs these days and also didn't really have a need for them.
He had experienced sickness caused by the overconsumption of Elixirs before, and if he could avoid them, that would definitely be for the best.
At the same time, he had the Greed Seed and the Transmutation Beast Skin, the latter of which was by far his best trump card in this regard.
So, Sylas decided that before he set out officially, he would create a large stockpile of Transmutated Pills for his own personal use.
There was a large number of poisonous beasts in the Woodland Territory, so that would make the pills he got from them particularly effective.
Luckily, he didn't have to set out personally to do this. He used the soldiers of the System City to hunt down a large number of beasts. They had already been gathering up a large number of beast carcasses for Sylas.
The trouble was then converting them to pills. That required either Aether stones or personally pouring Aether into the Transmutated Beast Skin.
That issue was also fixed by relying on the soldiers of the city. They were alternating in crafting these pills by pouring their own Aether into the skin.
Another issue they might run into is Durability.
A Permanent Template didn't have Durability issues in the way a normal Treasure might. The Template would always be there, thus the Permanent in its name. But it might need to be transferred to a new medium or something of the like.
Sylas had a feeling that after this, he would need to find a new beast skin for the Permanent Template. But he would cross that bridge when he got there.
[Simple Healing Elixir (F+) (Consumable)]
[A sweet nectar, the caress of a mother in liquid form. Drink this and heal yourself. For every
20 points of Constitution, boost healing capacity by +50%. Effects last a single day.]
[Coins: 1,000 (F) coins]
[Healing Elixir (F+) (Consumable)]
[A sweet nectar pulled from Heavenly Dew. Drink this and heal yourself. For every 20 points of Constitution, boost healing capacity by +100%. Effects last a single day.]
[Coins: 10,000 (F) coins]
Although Sylas would have these pills, he thought that he should at least try to touch all his bases to see if he could find anything that might be worth it.
The Transmutated Pills were great, but their effect on healing was much milder than usual Elixirs. He would probably need to consume three to five to form the same effects.
Though there wouldn't be any side effects, at that sort of pace he would run through them very fast even if he started off with thousands.
He wanted to see if he could find an Elixir to use in a pinch if he really ran up against a wall. Relying on the Greed Seed consistently probably wouldn't be very smart, and the Greed Seed's healing capability was unlike the others in that he had to split some of his Wisdom to use it properly, which wasn't ideal and could lower his combat effectiveness for a while.
'Oh? So there is something...'
[Healing Elixir (FFF+) (Consumable)]
[A sweet nectar pulled from Heavenly Dew. Drink this and heal yourself. For every 20 points of Constitution, boost healing capacity by +10,000%. Effects last a single day.]
[Coins: 10,000,000 (F)]
'This might be worth it...'
Sylas' Hibernation Realm gave a 51,200% boost. With his current Constitution, though, this Healing Elixir would speed up recovery by 330,000%.
But...
'It's still not enough. If I broke a bone that would take three months to heal usually, it would take almost three minutes of battle before it fixed again, and that wouldn't include potential re-injury mid-battle. It's not worth the price...'
What Sylas hadn't factored in was the fact his natural healing factor was much greater with his current Constitution and his Dual Class Constitution stacked on top of that. It would probably take him less than half the time to heal with this Constitution, and another half less than that thanks to his Dual Class Constitution and State of Wealth.
But even then, 40-50 seconds in the middle of a battle was still far too long, let alone if he broke a more substantial bone that would usually take six months or so to heal.
Just as he was about to give up, though, he found something interesting.
