Chapter 2973: Admitting Cowardice

Chapter 2973: Admitting Cowardice

The Crocodile Clan had initially been quite upset.

Their mining areas had frequently been harassed by the mutant worms, and there had even been suspicions that other allied fleets might be secretly targeting them.

Yet, they were completely helpless against these mutant worms, which was a source of great shame.

However, as time went on, the Crocodile Clan suddenly realized that it wasn’t just their mining areas being attacked; the others were also experiencing similar issues with the worms.

In this way, the Crocodile Clan became very calm.

They did not worry about scarcity, but about unevenness—since everyone got hit, it was the same as not being hit.

The ones who truly suffered the biggest loss were the Shadow Clan.

The Shadow Clan was powerful, but their numbers were extremely limited. They didn’t control any mining areas, but they took 50% of the profits from the mining operations on the planet as protection fees.

It was said that the Shadow Clan had also received the news and had sent a team to investigate the mining areas, but there had been no further reports, which likely meant it didn’t go well.

In fact, the Shadow Clan had received reports from the various allied races about the attacks on the mining areas by the mutant worms.

Many mining areas had reported attacks, and the affected regions were rapidly expanding.

The Shadow Clan didn’t know that Fang Heng was behind it, but their instincts told them that the mutant worms consuming the ores were likely part of a rapid mutation process.

Since the scouting team couldn’t completely eliminate the source of the worms, the Shadow Clan decided to give up and focus their efforts on strengthening the main battlefield.

At the same time, Fang Heng and the allied fleets also received reports from the Shadow Clan about the recent attacks on the mining areas.

Captain Gisele of the Federation’s Western District looked at the report he had received and raised an eyebrow.

The strange mutant worm creatures attacking the mining areas...

And the familiar method of stealing ores used by the worms...

Gisele and the experts from the Presidential Palace exchanged glances.

Could it be... Fang Heng?

The group instinctively looked toward the outside of the ship.

Under Fang Heng’s flagship, a subterranean passage had appeared at some point.

Various spawn machines were continually moving back and forth through the passage, transporting large crates into the ship.

It was clear now.

The people in the room were now 100% certain that the mutant worm swarm attacking the mining areas was being controlled by Fang Heng.

But...

Was he not afraid?

If the Shadow Clan discovered they were behind these actions, they could become the common enemy of the Spawn Alliance!

The atmosphere on the ship became somewhat tense.

The familiar feeling.

Here it came again.

"Everyone, I know what you’re thinking. Just shut up and pretend you didn’t see anything."

...

The Federation players in the Western District and the Flying Squirrel Clan couldn’t have imagined that the Shadow Clan and the other allied races would back down when facing the Lickers.

The guards at the various mining areas were not reinforced; instead, they were evacuated.

The Shadow Clan had ordered their forces to gather on the main battlefield.

This was a serious problem.

Fang Heng immediately began mining with all his might.

Go all out!

Everything was in full swing!

The Flying Squirrel Clan, with their sharp senses and ability to refine ores, worked together with the zombie team to collect resources.

Several mining teams were activated and operating at full capacity!

The special world had attracted the Shadow Clan’s attention, largely because the planet was rich in high-tier ore resources.

Now, Fang Heng was rapidly plundering all of it.

Fang Heng stood in the main control room of the flagship, looking out the window at the Iron-Eating Beast Clan constructing the prism columns, and couldn’t help but stroke his chin, beginning to ponder.

Zaka came over with a batch of shovels for urgent transport and ran to check with the other allied races about the Shadow Clan’s latest developments. When he returned, he reported to Fang Heng, "Boss Fang, I’ve just confirmed that, apart from a few high-level mining areas, the Shadow Clan has temporarily abandoned the mining area guards..."

"Mm..."

Zaka saw Fang Heng’s thoughtful expression and found it strange.

Wasn’t everything already settled?

Zaka couldn’t help but ask, "Mr. Fang, what are you thinking?"

Fang Heng withdrew his gaze from the window.

There were too many ore resources to refine and exchange for contribution points directly through the spawn system, which still felt like a bit of a loss.

"I’m thinking... Since we have so many ore resources, should we help the Shadow Clan’s alliance and take on a few more Star Eye prism column construction missions to speed up the work for the Iron-Eating Beast Clan?"

"Huh?"

Zaka was stunned.

Helping the Shadow Clan build the prism columns for free?

Wasn’t that a waste of ore resources?

Wasn’t that even more of a loss?

Was Boss Fang so eager to help others?

This didn’t seem like him at all!

"That’s settled, then." Fang Heng snapped his fingers and said, "You go contact the Shadow Clan’s alliance and tell them that we have extra capacity and can help the Iron-Eating Beast Clan build more prism columns. We just need permission from the alliance."

"Ah? You’re serious?"

Zaka was perplexed. He didn’t understand why Fang Heng was doing this, but he said, "Okay, okay, I’ll go handle it."

Meanwhile, the Federation players in the Western District had been staying on their ships, watching as crates of ore were continuously being moved into Fang Heng’s fleet.

Even players from the Eastern Federation were helping with the transportation and sorting of the ores.

Captain Gisele could easily check the honor points of the human faction by logging into the spawn system, seeing them rapidly increasing.

He estimated that the ore resources being converted every hour were enormous.

How much could they earn?

It was hard not to feel envious.

Sigh!

No wonder the Eastern Federation was able to expand its fleet so quickly.

Gisele sighed deeply, casting a glance at the experts from Vionne, his eyes filled with disdain.

If it weren’t for those incompetent teammates around, they might have been able to get a share of the spoils in the Western District.

Vionne, looking outside the ship, was filled with jealousy. He even considered reporting to the Shadow Clan, but when he caught sight of Captain Gisele’s warning and surveillance gaze, he gave up on that thought.

As for the main battlefield, the Shadow Clan had gathered their fleets and used their hard power to hold the line against the swarm of mutant worms, successfully stabilizing the situation.

"Captain, we have a report from the human side."

A soldier from the Shadow Clan passed over the information, which read, "The human fleet has offered to help with the construction of more prism columns and is willing to do so for free, seeking our permission."

The Shadow Clan captain was momentarily surprised, then asked, "What did they offer in exchange?"

The soldier shook his head and said, "They didn’t ask for anything."

The Crocodile Clan captain, overhearing this, laughed heartily, "We’ve all heard that humans may be weak, but they know how to handle things. Looks like they’re surrendering to us."

The Shadow Clan captain gave a slight hum and didn’t think much of it. He waved his hand and said, "Fine, since they want to work, let them do more."

"Understood."
