Chapter 3086: Finding an Opponent
Chapter 3086: Finding an Opponent

Since opening Abe Akaya’s teleportation passage would very likely cause trouble, Fang Heng simply decided to target a group that was already at odds with him.
Fang Heng lightly licked his lips.
The spawns!
Over the past period, Fang Heng had been subtly inquiring within the Noel Clan about the situation regarding the spawns.
Among the powers in the Seven Realms Martial Capital, the spawns ranked roughly third, one of the seven major overlords.
It was rumored externally that the spawns were physically fragile and highly susceptible to external forces. As a result, they generally disliked face-to-face contact with outsiders. In Tier 7 Martial Capital, their presence was rare, and they typically relied on remote communication systems.
The spawns only occupied a very small, specialized area in the capital, where they held autonomous rights.
That’s where he would go.
Time to stir up some fun for the spawns.
Half an hour later, Fang Heng entered the district controlled by the spawns.
Even at night, the city streets were brightly lit.
In soul body form, Fang Heng slipped into the underground sewer system.
It wasn’t as foul-smelling as he had expected.
The entire sewer system had been specially modified. With magic arrays in operation, wastewater was quickly purified and flushed away, flowing through pipes into a treatment zone.
In addition, the sewer system was equipped with 24-hour lighting and surveillance cameras installed at certain junctions.
Strangely, it felt clean and orderly.
"Splash!"
Fang Heng passed through the cleaned water pipe in spirit form, then returned to his physical form.
"Holy barrier."
"Buzz!"
A barrier expanded outward, pushing the surrounding water aside and creating an air pocket in the water.
The water flowed past the outside of the barrier with a steady rushing sound.
"This place will do just fine."
Fang Heng muttered to himself, then began setting up the Abe Akaya summoning magic array at the sewer bottom.
Usually, the sewer system was managed by a dedicated engineering department, but, as long as there were no problems, no one would check.
It took more than five hours to finish setting up the Abe Akaya magic array.
Fang Heng stood at the edge of the array. His pupils spun rapidly with the omniscient eyes.
"Chi, chi chi chi..."
As expected.
Even deep within the sewer, the Abe Akaya summoning magic array encountered significant interference.
Moments later, as the magic array activated, Abe Akaya’s vines emerged, breaking through the interference.
Fang Heng looked at the eager, writhing vines and calmly said, "Begin, Abe Akaya."
"Chi, chi chi..."
A dark light appeared in the center of the vines.
Fang Heng narrowed his eyes slightly.
This was different from previous activations in other domains—this time, as the magic array activated, threads of black light leaked out around the fluctuating space.
As expected, something had gone wrong.
Based on the perception from the Abe Akaya vines, the teleportation was being disrupted.
Fang Heng forced Abe Akaya to continue activating the teleportation, while simultaneously extending his own perception outward.
...
Tier 7 Martial Capital – Control Hall inside the spawns’ main building.
"Report! The Prism Tower has issued an orange alert!"
"Warning! Black Fog fluctuations detected in Domain G-33!"
"Warning! Trace amounts of Black Fog were detected in the domain. Dispatch scouting team to investigate the target area."
"Warning! Spatial fluctuation was also detected in the area. A space passage may be under construction!"
"Black Fog in the target area appears to have high infection potential. Recommend A-level protection measures for all investigators."
The moment the alert sounded, the spawns initiated crowd evacuation through their security forces.
Among the slightly chaotic crowd, Elven prince Cole Karot and Paka exchanged glances, retreating with the others while wearing puzzled expressions.
What was going on?
Why did the spawns suddenly cause such a commotion?
Recently, aside from continuing their investigation for news about Fang Heng, the two had been working on two matters.
They had found a buyer for the goods shipped from afar, who offered a good price and even promised to help Paka with his application for access to the Human Domain.
As for the second matter, the registration application for the Human World had been progressing slowly.
It was said that the spawns were behind the delays, intentionally dragging out the approval process.
Helpless, Cole Karot and Kapa planned to pay a visit to the spawns’ foreign affairs officer to test their attitude and decide on a countermeasure.
But before they could even meet the Spawn official, the entire district was locked down, and the two were driven outside the sealed-off area.
Kapa and Cole didn’t go far. They hid just outside the sealed zone, observing from the periphery.
Soon, the security team affiliated with the spawns arrived on-site to begin their investigation.
These guards were not spawns themselves but a hired security force composed of other races.
Captain Barin of the domain guard personally arrived and reported via walkie-talkie to the control zone. "We’ve reached the Black Fog alert site. No visible Black Fog detected so far. We suspect the alert originated from underground."
"Current speculation points to the sewer system."
"We’ve already pulled surveillance from all sewer areas. Some of the footage is corrupted by electromagnetic interference and unreadable."
To the spawns, Black Fog was a serious threat.
Its appearance in the Martial Capital was a particularly alarming sign.
The spawns panicked, retreating into their internal headquarters and refusing to come out. They issued orders for all guards and protection teams to investigate the source of the Black Fog.
Captain Barin soon pinpointed the area from which the Black Fog had emerged, then deployed personnel to guard all sewer exits and evacuate civilians.
"Seal all exits for now. Prepare to send personnel down into the sewers for investigation."
The guard team and the hired security force gathered at the main sewer passage entrance.
Seeing the spawns panic, the mercenaries felt some disdain.
The spawns possessed extremely advanced tech and strong mental control abilities, but their bodies were frail and easily corrupted by external forces. As a result, they rarely performed tasks themselves.
As the mercenaries would say—
The richer they are, the more scared they are to die.
"The spawn masters are all cowards, but at least they pay well. Let’s not wait around. Just some Black Fog—let’s remind them their monthly payments aren’t for nothing."
The hired warriors didn’t take the Black Fog seriously.
Even if they were affected by it, so what?
Besides the spawns, who seemed terrified by the mere mention of it, other races had encountered Black Fog before, and there were no confirmed cases of anyone being affected.
The security company quickly assembled a scouting team, which entered the sewer depths without any protective gear.
"Captain, they’ve gone in. Should we...?"
The guard next to Barin asked cautiously.
Barin shook his head and said, "No rush. We’ll wait here for equipment support. Let them go in and scout first."
