Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened

Chapter 364: OverSeer

Chapter 364: Ch 364 : OverSeer

Sunny drifted toward the shimmering veil of the second multiverse, his Law-Thread Sensitivity twitching like a finely tuned instrument.

As he drew closer, the invisible filaments of reality began to reveal their signature, a familiar vibration that hummed with the resonance of spirit-qi and ancient dao.

"A cultivation multiverse," Sunny murmured, a small smile playing behind his cosmic mask. "It isn’t an exact twin of the Multiverse that Cai Zhen hailed from, but the fundamental laws are almost identical. The same pursuit of immortality, the same hierarchical heavens, and the same ruthless competition for resources."

As he touched the barrier, the multiverse’s defense didn’t just yield; it bowed. It recognized the Emperor’s authority of Sunny, an authority that was above all the daos present in the multiverse.

Sunny stepped through the veil, looking out at the glittering universes within. Each one looked like a polished jade orb, teeming with untapped potential and nearly infinite souls seeking a path to the heavens.

"I think I have the perfect gardener for this forest," Sunny thought.

With a graceful flick of his wrist, he tore a golden rift in the void. Ten figures stepped out, their divine auras illuminating the darkness.

While nine of the Gods possessed formidable presence, the tenth was like a supernova standing amidst flickering candles. His aura didn’t just glow; it commanded.

This was Cai Zhen, the reincarnation of the Old God of Cultivation.

Before the other nine could even orient themselves to the new coordinate, Cai Zhen stepped forward. He didn’t just bow; he knelt in the void, his fist pressed firmly against his chest in a gesture of absolute, eternal fealty.

"Thank you, Emperor," Cai Zhen said, his voice thick with a weight that spanned eons. "For returning the memories of my previous life... I am eternally grateful. To walk the path once more with my eyes open is a gift I can never truly repay."

"Rise, Cai Zhen," Sunny said, his voice warm and genuine. "No need for such formalities. It is the responsibility of an Emperor to restore what was stolen by time. What is yours is yours; I merely acted as the bridge."

The restoration of memories had been a monumental undertaking. During Sunny’s recent journey back through the River of Time, he hadn’t just gone to observe the creation of the multiverse.

He had immersed himself in the memories of the Fallen. He had copied the life-memories of thousands of Gods who had perished in the Great War, straining his own mental capacity to act as a cosmic hard drive.

He would have stored the memories of every one of the billions of Gods, but his mental energy was almost drained and needed time to recover.

Upon his return, he had transferred this Treasure Trove of memories to Thea.

She, in turn, had carefully reintegrated these billions of years of experience into the current incarnations of the Gods within the City.

They weren’t just new beings anymore; they were veterans of a forgotten war, reborn with the wisdom of their failures.

"Emperor..." Cai Zhen looked up, his eyes reflecting the distant universes. "I saw it all. In the memories you gave me, I saw how the Demon Lords dismantled us. I was stronger then, many times stronger than I am now, and yet, they treated our Pantheon like a child’s toy. Were you there? Did you see us fall?"

"No and yes," Sunny replied, his gaze turning distant. "I was not there physically to catch you. I was merely a shadow walking through the corridors of the past. But I watched. I learned. And now, you have the advantage. You know why you died. Use that knowledge to ensure that in this life, the God of Cultivation is a title that even the Abyss fears."

Cai Zhen nodded, but a shadow of personal longing crossed his handsome face. He hesitated, then sent a private mental transmission directly into Sunny’s mind.

’Emperor... if I may be so bold... were my wives also reincarnated?’ His voice was a complex knot of shame, hope, and ancient grief. ’I saw them in the memories. I saw their faces as the demons killed them without any mercy.... Will i be able to meet them again?’

Sunny smiled softly, though his expression remained serene. He replied through the same mental link.

’No, Cai Zhen. They were not. To be reincarnated by the Void Mother, one must be Void-Born, a direct creation of her. Your wives were born of the mortal realms, of the natural cycle. Their souls were beautiful, yes, but they were fragile. They have long since been erased by the currents of the River of Time.’

Cai Zhen’s shoulders slumped slightly, a heavy sigh echoing in his soul.

’However,’ Sunny added, trying to ease the sadness in Cai Zhen’s mind, ’you should not dwell on the memories of a previous life. You are a new being. You should seek new paths, new horizons. Besides... do you really think Thera would allow you to fool her twice? Imagine her temper now that she has her memories back.’

Cai Zhen’s eyes widened. He let out a sudden, strangled yelp. "I understand, Emperor! I understand completely! Let us never speak of this again. Truly. And please... for the love of the Void... do not mention my question to Thera. In this life, she might actually find a way to make my death permanent before the demons even get a chance!"

Sunny’s laughter boomed through the void, a rare moment of genuine mirth.

The other nine Gods looked on in confusion, unable to hear the silent exchange but sensing the sudden panic in their leader’s aura.

"Do you all understand your task?" Sunny asked, his voice returning to its commanding boom.

"SPREAD THE FAITH!" the ten Gods shouted in unison, their voices shaking the local universes.

"Then go," Sunny said, his form beginning to blur. "The faster you conquer this multiverse, the sooner you will be granted a chance to harvest another multiverse."

With a final nod, Sunny vanished using Void Step, leaving the Cultivation Team to begin their descent into the jade-like worlds below.

Back in the City of Gods, in a serene tea-house perched on a floating island of silver clouds, three beings sat around a low table.

To a casual observer, they looked like beautiful nobles enjoying a quiet afternoon. But if one looked closely they were three living suns capable of erasing any universe.

Thera, the Goddess of the Divine Annihilation, stared into her cup, her long, pale hair flowing like silk. "Cai was chosen," she said softly. Her voice wasn’t envious, but it carried a deep, resonant longing. "He is out there now, walking under a new sky."

"If you miss him that much, just ask Thea to open a portal," Adam said, his voice gruff but not unkind.

He was staring at a glowing green stone held in his rough palm, the vessel containing the soul of his beloved Freya.

"I love the transportation in this era. If we had portals like these in the old world, we wouldn’t have spent centuries living on opposite sides of the reality. We could have had tea every few days."

Adam’s hand tightened on the stone. ’Soon...’ he thought, fighting back the moisture in his eyes. ’Soon, Cosmos will create the Pill of Life, and you will walk beside me again. We would be in each other arms once again’

"I’ll go eventually," Thera replied, taking a slow sip. "But for now, the peace here is... addictive. I want to finish this cup first. And besides, I have a question for the Emperor before I leave. A question that only he can answer."

Beru, the massive, armored God of Evolution, crunched on a biscuit that would have broken a mortal’s teeth.

"I’m just glad I didn’t eat you two when we first met," he grunted, trying to lighten the mood. "I was very hungry back then. It would have been a waste of a good conversation."

"Thank you for your restraint, Beru," Thera acknowledged with a dry smile. "If it weren’t for your indigestion, we might not be sitting here at all."

They lapsed into a comfortable silence, enjoying the absolute safety of the Inner World. They knew that while they drank their tea, the Emperor was out in the dark, carving a path for their future.

High in the Central Palace, the clone of Sunny known as the Overseer watched the three Gods through a wall of holographic displays.

His primary function was the management of the internal territories, but his vision allowed him to see much more than just logistics.

And with the addition of Divine eyes into Sunny’s arsenal, he didn’t just saw their thoughts or memories, he could peer into their heart and understand what they truly wanted, something that even they don’t know.

He saw Beru’s simple, fierce devotion, a mind focused on food, growth, and the protection of his new friends.

He saw Adam’s crushing grief, a king living in the past, waiting for the moment he could breathe life back into the stone in his hand.

But it was Thera’s thoughts that made the Overseer’s smile deepen....
