Chapter 366: The Half Awakened Annihilation
Chapter 366: Ch 366 : The Half Awakened Annihilation
The silence of the throne room was absolute, a heavy pressure that seemed to swallow the very concept of sound.
Sunny, seated upon his throne in his manifestation as the Overseer, did not move a muscle. His gaze remained fixed on the distant horizons of the Void, peering through the trillions of silver particles that Thea had scattered across the cosmos.
"It is not about a simple disturbance, Thera," Sunny finally spoke, his voice resonating from the shadows. "And it certainly isn’t about the danger. It is about a fundamental disparity in existence."
He turned his head, his eyes finally locking onto the Goddess of the Annihilation.
"You look at Cai Zhen, at Beru, or at Adam, and you see your peers, the giants who once stood beside you in the First Era. But you must realize that in your current state, you are fragile."
"While I have already unsealed the dormant fountains of power of Beru and Cai Zhen, your own essence remains locked behind a seal. To send you out now would be like sending a flickering candle into a hurricane."
Thera’s silver eyes flashed with a hint of her ancient pride. "I am a Goddesss, Emperor. Even unawakened, my soul carries the weight of a billion tides. If there is no immediate danger in that cultivation multiverse, what is the harm in my descent? I only wish to be at his side."
Sunny let out a slow breath. "The Demon Lords are not fools, Thera. They have stopped hunting for Gods in the general sense; they are hunting for the Ancients. They are looking for the specific aura of the reincarnation of the old Gods. Cai Zhen’s multiverse is a sanctuary because the Law of Cultivation is dense enough to act as a shroud for his aura. He blends into the background of a billion ascending souls."
He leaned forward, the darkness of the hall deepening. "But you... your Law is the Law of Annihilation. It is the antithesis of creation, a sharp aura that pierces through spatial shrouds like a spear through silk."
"The moment you step outside this city, you will be a beacon. You won’t just put yourself at risk; you will lead the Lords directly to Cai Zhen, to the nine Gods with him, and to all the lifeforms he is currently trying to harvest. Your longing is a trail of breadcrumbs for the Abyss."
Thera’s breath hitched. The reality of his words chilled her more than the cold of the void ever could. Her longing for Cai Zhen had indeed acted as a fog across her analytical mind.
"I... I understand. I would be a liability. Does that mean I am condemned to wait here, staring at the tea-leaves until the era ends?"
Sunny’s expression softened into a faint, knowing smile. "Not quite. You are weak now because your power is a danger to yourself. Your Law is so potent that if I were to awaken it fully without preparation, it would annihilate the very vessel that contains it. You would vanish into nothingness before you could even draw your first breath as a True Void Born Goddess."
He stood up, his cosmic robes fluttering despite the lack of wind. "To walk among the stars again, you need strength, not just power, but the structural to survive your own nature. You need a body that can hide from the Lords and a soul that can withstand the friction of the annihilation."
"You have found a way?" Thera whispered, her heart racing. She remembered the day Cai Zhen and Beru had undergone their transformations, the sheer, intoxicating pressure of their awakened divinity.
"Yes," Sunny said, his voice gaining a rhythmic, instructional tone. "But it will not be instantaneous. For you, the process will take several centuries, perhaps even a millennium of focused adaptation. According to the time-dilation of the City, that will be roughly eight to twelve hours. Half a day for the city; a lifetime for you."
"I am ready, Emperor," Thera said without a moment’s hesitation. Her trust was absolute, a blind devotion that surpassed simple gratitude for being saved. It was the instinctive recognition of a lesser being for its Emperor.
Sunny chuckled, the sound echoing through the hall. "Listen to the plan first, Goddess. Blind trust is a beautiful thing, but understanding is the root of mastery. I intend to bestow upon you a blessing: the SSS-Grade Resilience talent."
Thera’s mind, already reeling, felt as though it had been struck by a physical blow.
SSS-Grade Resilience? She knew the hierarchies of the talents. That talent was only a single step below the legendary adaptability of Beru, the God of Evolution himself.
It was a talent designed to turn a body into an immortal fortress, capable of adapting to any hostile environment or energy.
"You know how it works," Sunny continued, ignoring her stunned silence.
"Usually, Resilience adapts to external threats. But for you, the threat is internal. I will begin to leak the Law of Annihilation into your system, one microscopic spark at a time. The Resilience talent will recognize this energy as a danger and will begin to restructure your soul and body to survive it. We will force your existence to evolve into a container that can hold the annihilation without breaking."
"And once the adaptation is complete?" Thera asked, her voice trembling with anticipation.
"Then," Sunny said, his eyes glowing with a violet-gold intensity, "I will pull back the veil entirely. You will awaken as the True Goddess of Annihilation, with a body that can withstand the pressure of a collapsing universe. You will be able to mask your presence so thoroughly that even the demon lords would’nt be able to trace your Aura."
"Let us begin, Emperor," Thera said, her resolve hardening.
With a flick of his hand, Sunny manifested a shimmering sphere of energy in the center of the throne room, a bubble that was a dimension of its own. "Step inside"
Thera nodded, as she entered the bubble, and immediately felt the time difference inside, she was about to kneel for the blessing but Sunny’s voice stopped her midway.
"Do not kneel; this is a labor of the soul, not a ceremony of the court. Sit in the lotus position."
Thera obeyed, her movements graceful yet urgent. As she settled into the center of the sphere.
Sunny approached. He raised his hand, the star-clusters in his palm glowing with a soft, pulsating light. He placed his fingers against her forehead, and the connection was forged.
A surge of silver light erupted from the point of contact, flooding Thera’s nervous system.
She gasped, her body arching as the weight of the talent anchored itself into her core. She felt a new, primal awareness awakening, a silent sentinel within her cells that stood ready to defend her against the very fabric of reality.
"It feels... incredible," she whispered, her fists clenching as she felt the changes within her body.
"That is just the foundation," Sunny’s voice reached her, sounding as if it were coming from miles away. "Now, we begin the Controlled Burn.’"
Sunny detached his primary consciousness from his body, diving deep into the landscape of Thera’s soul.
He navigated past the swirling mists of her essence until he found it: a tiny, spark of pure light. This was the Law of Annihilation, the dormant seed of her divinity.
He prepared to feed it. He had calculated the exact amount of Faith required, a microscopic, diluted droplet that should have been just enough to trigger a single, manageable spark of destructive energy.
However, Sunny had forgotten one critical factor: his own evolution.
Since his Cosmic Bloodline had assimilated over 90%, his raw essence was no longer that of a simple God-King.
He was a Royal of the Nihilium. Every drop of his Faith was now a concentrated essence of the Real Void itself. Even diluted a million times, it carried the weight of a dying sun.
The moment his Faith touched the spark of Annihilation, the reaction was catastrophic.
"Oh, f*ck," Sunny cursed aloud in the throne room.
