Chapter 380 380: The Attack: Alice and Sniperbowlegend Report[12]

When Gabriel saw the full details of his improved greatsword, he was beyond excited.

Serpahina, who had remained beside him all this while, watching quietly to make sure she did not interrupt him, frowned and spoke.

"You must have gotten something really nice for you to be this excited."

Gabriel did not reply immediately, his eyes still fixed on the greatsword. Serpahina could almost see the sparkles in the depth of those blue eyes, which only made her more curious.

For someone like him, who was always composed and rarely showed emotion, whatever he had obtained was truly a game changer.

"This…" he finally gasped, as if struggling to find the words to describe what he was seeing.

At this point, the vampire queen's curiosity slowly turned into irritation.

"Why… just show me already and stop behaving like a kid."

Her words snapped him out of his trance like state. He tossed the greatsword, which weighed almost three hundred kilograms, toward her.

She did not think too much about its size. Although her overall strength had been nerfed by the entity that sealed her within the Blood Tower, she was still far stronger than the average Hero Rank.

Far stronger.

However, she greatly overestimated herself this time.

He realized his mistake only when the sword had already left his hands, and he could only smile wryly.

When Serpahina caught the sword, her eyes widened in shock. Her slim, elegant arms trembled violently as she quickly released it. The blade struck the ground, lodging itself deep and forming a spider web of cracks that spread outward.

"This… how do you lift that so easily?" she asked, her tone filled with disbelief.

"Well, maybe it's because the sword recognizes me as its owner," he replied, trying to sound humble.

Unfortunately for him, the act was seen through immediately.

With an annoyed frown that somehow looked cute, she said, "Don't joke with me."

He shrugged and explained casually, "It requires at least two hundred strength to wield properly. The real question is, is your strength stat up to two hundred?"

"It's close, but not that high," she admitted, sounding more embarrassed than she liked.

For an existence as powerful as her, someone who once commanded several Hero Rank vampires as subordinates, that embarrassment was very real.

Seeing through it, he spoke again. "I'm pretty sure you surpass me in other areas."

No comment followed. She simply stared at the sword, her eyes flashing slightly.

"Even if I can't wield it properly, I should at least be able to lift it."

She wrapped her hand around the hilt and pulled the blade free from the ground. She did manage to lift it, but the moment she tried to swing it, the strain surged through her muscles and she gave up.

"Now let me see the description that got you looking like that."

In this world, the only way to view the description of a treasure or skill was to subconsciously will it. Touch alone did nothing.

She read through the information, then sucked in a sharp breath. At that moment, she fully understood his earlier reaction.

'If he had obtained this earlier, I'm sure he could have defeated me if we fought,' she thought silently.

Even with her strength reduced to Hero Rank, she had been confident she could face him. But with this blade in his hands, everything changed.

Meanwhile, he watched with a smug expression, clearly enjoying the priceless look on her face.

"You can have it back. It's really impressive," she said with a smile as she handed the sword to him.

"I know," he nodded proudly.

Now what?

That was the real question.

He still had two hundred EP left. Although the greatsword itself was already a massive upgrade, he was someone who preferred over preparation.

Naturally, he was not satisfied yet.

He briefly checked his skills. The remaining EP would not be enough for any major upgrades. From what he had learned, extracting skills cost even more than extracting treasures.

As if reading his mind, Serpahina suddenly spoke.

"There's one thing you're missing."

"Armor, right?" he sighed.

So far, the only protective gear he possessed was the Guard Robe.

"Subconsciously, the reason I never invested much into armor or had Korran craft one for me is because of my Iron Skin," he admitted.

Another reason was that armor was usually heavy. His fighting style was hybrid. Sometimes he relied on speed, other times on sheer strength and brute force.

And with his newly acquired Indestructible Body talent, he had not seriously considered armor.

"A relatively lightweight set would still go a long way," she sighed. "Even if it ends up being inferior to your other defensive abilities."

"I'll think about it. Maybe I'll ask Korran to prepare something," he nodded.

Just then, he sensed shadows approaching his tent. He recognized the silhouette immediately.

It was Anna.

"Master, Alice and Sniperbowlegend have returned."

"Oh right, I almost forgot about those two," he said as he tightened his grip on the sword.

Meanwhile, Serpahina faded back into her invisible form, one that only he could perceive.

He stepped out of the tent.

Outside, members of the Broken Dawn were scattered throughout the camp. Some were resting, while others checked their ammunition, weapons, and treasures.

Standing in front of his private tent, which was noticeably larger than the others which was capable of housing fifty to a hundred people, were Alice and Sniperbowlegend.

These were the two he had been waiting for.

With them back, the assault on the Eastern Camp could finally begin.
