Chapter 452: Addictive Growth
Chapter 452: Addictive Growth
Gabriel’s eyes moved across the screen carefully, reading every new line that had appeared after the long chain of notifications stopped.
A new window opened on its own.
[Ding. Level calculation complete.]
[Ding. Current Level: 79.]
[Ding. Each level grants 5 Stat Points.]
[Ding. Health increases by 20 per level.]
[Ding. Total Stat Points Gained: 145.]
Gabriel let out a low breath.
"So it really jumped that high," he said.
Seraphina leaned slightly against the wall, watching him instead of the screen. "You look satisfied. That must be a big increase."
"It is," Gabriel replied. He stretched out his hands and held hers, showing her his progression.
"This is the first time I have gotten this many stat points at once."
He paused for a second, eyes still scanning.
"And my HP scaling changed too. It rises with every level now. That means I can stay in fights longer without worrying about dropping too fast."
"That is useful," she said simply.
Gabriel nodded. He did not waste more time talking. He immediately opened the stat allocation panel.
145 free points sat there waiting.
He flexed his fingers once.
"Alright. Let us fix this."
He began assigning them without hesitation.
Strength came first.
He pushed a large portion into it. His fighting style depended on direct power. There was no reason to hold back.
+50 Strength.
Then he shifted to Agility.
Speed mattered. It was Gabriel’s second most important stat after Strength. Closing distance, reacting, controlling the pace of battle. He added more there, but not as much as Strength.
+40 Agility.
He glanced at Perception.
Useful, but not something he needed to overload. His natural awareness was already high. He just needed enough to sharpen it further and detect powerful enemies with insane skills.
+20 Perception.
That left Intelligence.
Gabriel already knew Intelligence was the only way to increase Mana. The system did not allow direct Mana allocation, so this was the only method.
For each point of Intelligence, Mana increased by ten.
He invested the rest there.
+35 Intelligence.
The final point dropped in.
[Stat Distribution Complete.]
The screen refreshed instantly and the updated window slowly appeared before him.

Gabriel stared at the numbers for a few seconds to confirm everything had applied correctly.
Seeing that all his stat points were depleted, he felt a slight pang in his chest. It did not last long as he recalled that he had over two thousand extra EP which could easily be converted into stat points whenever he extracted corpses.
He moved to review the rest of the changes. By investing 35 stat points into Intelligence, it had pushed his Mana up. That alone gave him three hundred and fifty more Mana.
This was still not much. There were many mages who had far higher Mana because their fighting style depended heavily on it.
One might argue that 2950 was already a large amount, but that number could drop to zero if multiple skills were activated at once or if he overcharged abilities with Mana.
"As much as I try to keep things balanced, it seems I will always lack in the areas of magic," Gabriel sighed as he released his hold on Seraphina’s soft palms.
"It is out of your control. Besides, you were never meant to walk that path," Seraphina said, hiding her annoyance when Gabriel took his hands off.
Gabriel did not respond. Instead, he rolled his shoulders once as if testing his body.
His muscles tightened and relaxed with more control than before. His breathing felt deeper. Even while standing still, there was a clear difference in how his body responded. The strength increase was not gradual. It came all at once, like everything had been adjusted to a higher setting.
He stood up from the bed.
The movement was smooth. Too smooth.
He opened and closed his hand slowly, watching the motion.
Gabriel tested it with a small step forward and a punch into the air. Both felt effortless, natural, but far more powerful than before. There was no strain, no hesitation. Every part of his body moved in harmony.
Gabriel’s grin widened. "It feels like I can do anything. And I am not even done yet."
"I think the best place for you to test your new increase in stats is in the gym."
"Right. There should be one in this mansion." Gabriel nodded. The reason he felt there was one here was because there had been one in Kairos’ mansion back at the camp, and that mansion was less luxurious than this.
Without wasting time, Gabriel checked the screen again to make sure there were no missed notifications.
Nothing new appeared.
The stat distribution was complete.
The increase he felt now was only from leveling.
But he had not forgotten something.
"There is still the title," Gabriel said. "The Lord of the Eastern Camp."
He opened the title menu again. The option was still there, waiting to be confirmed.
[Do you wish to equip the title: Lord of the Eastern Camp?]
Gabriel did not press it yet. He glanced once more at his current attributes.
The power he was feeling now was only from levels and stat allocation.
The title bonus had not been applied.
Which meant there was still another increase waiting.
So many boons. Gabriel was struggling to contain his excitement. The feeling of growth was truly addictive.
"Alright," Gabriel said, focusing back on the screen. And Without hesitating further, he moved his hand forward as he proceeded to equip the Lord of the Eastern Camp title.
...
