Chapter 461: VV Appears Again [2]

IceQueen looked at ChaosCleric for a few seconds before answering. "No. I thought I might, but I do not. Father has refused to reveal anything more about the game to me. He cut me off from that side of things, so whatever this is, I am on my own now."

ChaosCleric frowned. "He really refused again?"

"Yes," IceQueen said. "He made it clear. No more hidden data. No more background checks through company channels. No more favors."

"That is strange," ChaosCleric said. "Before now he never minded helping a little."

IceQueen’s expression did not change. "Things are different now."

ChaosCleric lowered the tablet slightly. "Then let me ask directly. Do you think it could be your brother Jayden?"

IceQueen answered at once. "No."

The reply came too fast, and ChaosCleric noticed it. "You sound sure."

"I am," she said.

ChaosCleric studied her face. "Because you know him, or because you want it not to be him?"

IceQueen met his gaze without backing down. "Because my brother was never the type to lie. If he entered the game, he would not play these games with me."

That answer hung in the room for a moment. ChaosCleric did not look fully convinced, but he did not press too hard.

"So you think it is someone else entirely."

"I said I do not know," IceQueen replied. "That includes whether Jayden changed. But until I see proof, I am not going to assume it is him."

ChaosCleric let out a slow breath and placed the tablet on the table. "Fine. Then we keep digging."

IceQueen nodded once, then shifted the topic without warning.

"What about White Phantom? Any sightings?"

ChaosCleric’s face grew serious. "None. Not since the dungeon event."

IceQueen’s eyes narrowed. "Not even a rumor?"

"Plenty of rumors," he said, "but nothing real. Every time we check, it turns out to be fake, outdated, or someone trying to use the name for attention."

IceQueen moved back toward the window, then stopped halfway. "We need to find him fast."

ChaosCleric face palmed. "You are still serious about that?"

"Yes."

"With Henry and Dominic gone, you think White Phantom is the answer?"

IceQueen turned her head slightly. "With Henry and Dominic defeated, he is the only one I feel might still stand a chance."

ChaosCleric gave a quiet laugh, though there was no humor in it. "You said the same thing about Henry. You said the same thing about Dominic. You said it about others too. They all ended up dead, beaten, or useless against Broken Heaven and Broken Dawn. At what point do we stop pretending there is someone out there who can fix this for us?"

IceQueen did not answer.

ChaosCleric stepped closer, voice steady but careful. "I am saying this because someone has to. Is it not better to just give up? We have already lost too much trying to go after Gabriel. We keep sending people, building plans, making guesses, and none of it works. Broken Dawn keeps growing. Sir Broken keeps crushing anyone who stands in front of him. Maybe this is the point where we stop."

The office went quiet again. Even the armored guild member by the wall did not move.

IceQueen remained where she was, eyes on the window. Her silence made the answer obvious.

ChaosCleric shook his head. "Tsk. That look again."

IceQueen spoke at last. "If you want to step back, then step back."

ChaosCleric frowned. "That is not what I said."

"It is close enough."

"I said this is a bad idea," he replied with a shrug. "Not that I would abandon the guild."

IceQueen turned fully now, irritation showing on her face. "Then stop asking me to quit."

ChaosCleric held her stare for a moment, then shook his head. "You are not going to drop this."

"No."

IceQueen did not need to say anything more. Her face had gone still in that way ChaosCleric knew too well. Once she reached that point, changing her mind became nearly impossible.

ChaosCleric rubbed his forehead once, then exhaled. "Fine. Then at least let us move smarter. No more rushing in. No more betting everything on one name."

IceQueen did not reject that. "Agreed."

That alone surprised ChaosCleric enough to pause.

Before he could say more, hurried footsteps came from outside the office. A second later the door opened hard, and one of the guild staff rushed in, breathing fast from the climb.

IceQueen’s gaze shifted at once. "What is it?"

The staff member bowed quickly. "Guild Leader, there is someone downstairs asking to see you."

Her expression changed. "Who?"

The staff member swallowed once. "A figure in red full body armor."

The room became quiet.

IceQueen took one step forward. "What name did they give?"

The staff member looked between both of them before answering.

"They said their name is Vv."

...

Outside the ChaosKnight guild building, the main street had already slowed down.

Players were gathered around the entrance, forming a loose circle while keeping their distance from the person standing there.

The figure in red armor stood quietly in front of the tall doors of the guild base. The armor covered the body from head to toe. The surface was clean and smooth, and the wing shaped helmet hid the face completely. A massive sword rested behind the figure’s back, but the person was not holding it.

They simply stood there without moving.

Because of that, people had begun to gather.

"That person has been standing there for a while."

"Who are they waiting for?"

"I think they are here for ChaosKnight."

"Look at the armor. That does not look cheap."

Several players pointed from a distance while whispering to each other. Some tried to get closer, but none of them stepped too near.

One player lowered his voice. "Do you think that is a high level player?"

"Does not look like it," another replied. "Their level tag is low."

"That makes no sense then."

More players stopped to watch, curiosity spreading across the street.

The red armored figure did not react to any of it.

They simply stood there in front of the guild entrance, waiting.

Right at that moment, IceQueen and ChaosCleric stepped out of the guild building.

"What brings you here?" IceQueen asked, hiding a knowing smile on her face.
