Chapter 473: Assigning Roles[3]: The Unknown Woman

"The first Captain of Division One is Anna."

For a brief moment the room went still.

Anna herself blinked in surprise. She had been standing quietly near the wall as she usually did, maintaining the same calm and respectful posture she always kept whenever Gabriel was present. When her name left his mouth, she actually looked behind her for a moment as if expecting someone else with the same name to step forward.

Then she realized he was looking directly at her.

"Master... me?" she asked carefully.

Gabriel nodded once. "Yes."

Several people in the room exchanged looks. Anna had been known as Gabriel’s personal maid since he arrived. She followed him everywhere, handled messages, and managed many tasks around the mansion. Most had simply assumed she was part of his household staff rather than someone meant to hold command.

She lowered her head slightly. "I am already serving as your personal attendant."

Gabriel’s tone remained calm. "You will continue to do so. Your responsibilities will simply increase."

That ended the discussion.

She straightened slowly. Even though she was clearly surprised, she did not hesitate for long. She gave a respectful nod.

"I understand."

Some people in the room began reassessing her immediately. Anyone Gabriel trusted enough to place as the first Captain of his personal elite division clearly had more ability than most had realized.

Gabriel continued without pause.

"The second Captain of Division One is SniperBowLegend."

All eyes shifted toward the man in question.

SniperBowLegend raised an eyebrow slightly but did not appear shocked. If anything, he looked like he had half expected it. He leaned back in his seat for a moment before standing up.

"I will do my part," he said simply.

Gabriel gave a small nod.

His calm attitude made a few others glance at him again. He had always been one of the more reliable fighters in the camp. He rarely caused problems, rarely made noise, and had proven his accuracy during several fights already.

"The third Captain of Division One will be Eron."

This name caused a small ripple in the room.

Eron had been one of the officers under the previous camp structure. Unlike many others from that group, he had not abused his authority or taken advantage of the chaos under Henry’s rule. When the camp changed hands, he had been one of the few people that several members including Arnold himself had quietly recommended to Gabriel as someone dependable.

But this was not the sole reason for his appointment. The main reason was because the latter was very promising, already nearing Hero Rank at just twenty two years old.

Furthermore, he had also shown that he could handle responsibility. During several hunting expeditions into the wilderness, he had managed teams efficiently and ensured the camp continued to receive a steady supply of monster meat.

Eron stood up slowly.

"I will not disappoint you," he said.

Gabriel simply nodded once and moved on.

"Now we move to Division Two."

The tension returned instantly.

Several people who had hoped their names would appear in Division One were now clearly nervous. Being part of Gabriel’s elite force carried obvious advantages, but the meeting was far from over. Division Commanders and Captains from the other two divisions would still hold major authority.

"The Commander of Division Two will be Lin Xuyi."

For the first time since the meeting started, the Lin sisters themselves looked genuinely surprised.

Lin Xuyi blinked once before standing slowly.

"Commander?" she repeated quietly.

Gabriel looked at her directly and nodded faintly. "Yes."

Several people in the room reacted immediately. The Lin sisters had only switched sides shortly before Henry fell. While many respected their strength, few had expected Gabriel to give them positions that high so quickly.

Her expression settled after a moment. She gave a small nod.

"I understand. I will not disappoint you," she said before bowing respectfully.

"The first Captain under Division Two will be Lin Xiyumi."

Lin Xiyumi stood as well, clearly surprised but still maintaining her composure.

The reaction around the room was mixed. Some were impressed. Others looked uncertain. Still, no one could deny that the sisters had proven their ability in battle and had helped stabilize the camp during the transition.

More importantly, Gabriel had just made it clear that loyalty and capability mattered more than how long someone had been in the camp.

The sisters exchanged a quick glance before sitting down again. Even though neither spoke further, it was obvious they had not expected this level of responsibility so soon.

Gabriel continued speaking.

"The second Captain under Division Two will be Ragnarok99."

Ragnarok99 blinked once before letting out a short breath of relief. For a moment he had thought he would not be assigned any position.

"Thank you for trusting me, Sir Broken. I will not disappoint you," he said and gave a low bow.

Gabriel acknowledged the response and continued looking across the room.

At this point several people had begun to grow visibly anxious. The number of important positions left was shrinking quickly, and many had not heard their names yet. Even those who tried to remain calm were now paying much closer attention.

Just as the tension began to rise further, the door to the meeting room opened again.

A woman stepped inside.

Several heads turned at once.

She had long red hair and red eyes that immediately drew attention from the room. Her appearance was striking enough that several people paused mid thought just to look at her. More importantly, no one present recognized her.

Ragnarok99 frowned slightly.

"Who’s that?"

Bunny whispered back, "No idea."

Even the Lin sisters looked confused.

The woman walked calmly toward Gabriel and stopped beside him. Her posture was relaxed, and her eyes carried the faintest hint of amusement as she glanced across the room.

Gabriel spoke without hesitation.

"This is Sarah."

The name meant nothing to most of the room.

No one recognized it.

But the moment he said it, several people immediately realized something important.

Gabriel had just introduced someone none of them had ever seen before. And he had done it in the middle of one of the most important meetings the camp had ever held.

Which meant she was not ordinary.

Gabriel gestured toward her calmly.

"From now on, she will also be working closely with the leadership of New Dawn and will serve as the temporary commander of Division Three until I find someone competent."

The room remained silent as everyone looked at the red haired woman.

None of them knew that Sarah was actually Seraphina in human form.
