God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World!

Chapter 638: Gabriel Arrives!

Chapter 638: Gabriel Arrives!

Although Gabriel had just carried out a large scale massacre not too long ago on his way here, he was still extremely far from the number needed for the extraction of the Heart of the Dead God.

If he relied only on casually hunting monsters over time, the accumulation speed would be far too slow.

But if it was a war, that was completely different.

The corner of Gabriel’s mouth slowly rose.

“You’re short on manpower. And I just happen to be short on corpses.”

Edgar: “…”

Sophie: “…”

Erin: “…”

For a moment, the nearby elves who heard that sentence had no idea what kind of expression they were supposed to make.

Edgar remained silent for several seconds.

Then he covered his forehead.

“I knew it. You bastard really weren’t going to suddenly become some great saint.”

Gabriel ignored him.

“So. Are we going or not?”

Edgar lowered his hand.

The next second, the corner of his mouth also slowly rose.

“We’re going.”

Southwestern Defensive Line.

Boom!

An enormous ancient tree so wide that more than a dozen people would have been needed to surround its trunk collapsed with a thunderous crash.

Large numbers of elves leapt backward from the canopy.

And the moment the ancient tree fell.

Countless figures finally poured out from the opposite side of the forest.

Their green skin and short bodies, which were covered by crude iron armor, glistened with sweat under the sunlight, and their sharp ears twitched excitedly as they marched forward with savage expressions.

Naturally, these were goblins.

But these goblins were clearly completely different from ordinary low level monsters depicted in fiction.

They were not charging forward without order.

Hundreds of shield bearing goblins were arranged in the front.

Behind them were large numbers of ranged units carrying crossbows and spears.

Further back, more than a dozen crude war machines assembled from wood and metal could even be seen.

Their construction was rough, but their surfaces were embedded with large quantities of magic crystals.

This was absolutely not technology the goblins originally possessed.

“Push forward!”

A leader much larger than an ordinary goblin stood atop the back of a massive beast and roared loudly.

“Take them alive!”

“Capture every young elf alive!”

“Those human merchants said it!”

“One living cub is worth thirty high grade magic crystals!”

“Kill!”

Countless goblins let out excited howls.

The expressions of the elves ahead had already become extremely ugly.

After fighting for this long, it was not that the elves were incapable of defeating these goblins. The true problem was numbers.

The goblins reproduced far faster than the elves.

Kill one hundred.

Two hundred would soon replace them.

And now there were also outside forces continuously providing them with weapons and resources.

Once the war became one of attrition.

The sparsely populated elves would inevitably suffer.

“Loose!”

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Hundreds of arrows shot down almost simultaneously from between the enormous canopies that blotted out the sky, and the dense sounds of arrows tearing through the air merged into one continuous barrage as many of the goblins charging at the very front were pierced through before they could even raise their shields.

Blood spilled across the forest floor amid screams of pain, yet the corpses at the front had barely fallen before even more goblins from behind stepped over their companions’ bodies without hesitation and continued charging forward.

The distance between the two sides was shrinking at a speed visible to the naked eye, dropping from five hundred meters to three hundred and then rapidly closing in on two hundred.

Just as the elves at the very front put away their longbows and drew the melee weapons at their waists, preparing to meet the coming frontal collision, the previously bright sky suddenly darkened for an instant without warning, causing many of them to instinctively raise their heads.

Then, they saw a black figure plummeting straight down from an extremely high point in the sky, moving faster and faster with every passing moment until it resembled a true meteor falling from the heavens.

BOOM!!!

The earth exploded violently as dozens of goblins charging at the very front were hurled away by the terrifying shockwave before they could even see what had happened.

Soil and shattered rocks were blasted dozens of meters into the air, and an enormous crater more than a hundred meters wide was forcibly carved into the ground between the two armies.

The entire battlefield briefly fell silent.

Amid the dust filling the air, a figure slowly straightened his body, a massive crimson greatsword resting casually on his shoulder, held in a single hand.

Gabriel slowly raised his head and allowed his gaze to pass over the savage faces ahead before sweeping across the goblin army that seemed to have filled almost the entire forest.

He counted one hundred, then five hundred, then one thousand, only to discover that there were still more beyond them, densely packed together and stretching all the way to the limits of his vision.

But as Gabriel looked at the scene before him, the smile on his lips did not disappear but instead gradually became even more obvious.

There were simply too many of them, yet Gabriel could hardly understand how something like this was supposed to be considered trouble.

To the current him, this was clearly nothing more than a mine filled with Extraction Points that had walked straight to his doorstep on its own.

Standing atop a distant canopy, Erin took the entire scene into her eyes, and for a moment, her expression became incredibly complicated.

Not long ago, she had personally drawn her bow and aimed an arrow at this very man, yet now, with thousands upon thousands of enemies surging wildly from the other side of the forest, it was this same man who stood alone at the very front of every elf.

“He…” Erin finally could not stop herself from speaking as she stared at Gabriel’s back. “Is he really planning to stop them alone?”

The elven warrior standing beside her did not answer, because in the very next second, Gabriel moved.

Boom!

The ground beneath his feet instantly exploded as [Bull Rush!] activated, causing Gabriel’s figure to disappear from where he had been standing.

By the time everyone’s eyes managed to catch sight of him again, he had already crashed headfirst into the front ranks of the goblin army like a ferocious beast that had completely broken free of its restraints.
