Chapter 2185: Part 2: Otto and Patrick vs 10th Order Monster

Island

Hank was exploring the island alone. Old man Rock wanted to tag along, but Hank refused. He wanted to face the challenges alone.

He was not weak; he was a Supreme Wizard himself. Though he didn’t have attack spells like the others, he could still protect himself.

Old man Rock understood his thoughts, so he went on to explore the island alone as well. Like the others, he wanted to improve.

Compared to the Supreme Wizards, he was facing much more pressure. The enemies of Master Vincent were powerful.

Even the enemy forces’ front-line wizards turned out to be Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards. In order to help the Master, they had to at least defeat a Magic Lord Powerhouse.

He thought of Lady Caitlin. He thought Lady Caitlin could do it, but he could not. He was injured and could not fight like her.

First, he had to find a solution to completely heal his internal injuries. Once he recovered his peak strength, he could help Master Vincent more against their enemies.

As time went by, he kept busy searching for magic treasures.

Meanwhile,

Lady Caitlin was walking at her own pace. She was not interested in exploring the wilderness here. She had also obtained resources from the storage bracelets of the captives.

Soon, she came across a natural cave opening. She entered and found a spot to go through the storage bracelets.

She found resources that were useful to her, which improved her mood a lot. She didn’t consume them here.

She decided to sort out the items first.

The lake monster was furiously striking at the two wizards, but each of the attacks missed. They landed heavily on the ground.

Boom!

The ground surface exploded. The shock force spread across the area. The already overturned land was once again disturbed.

The green vegetation, canopies, and large trees were cleared out from the place. Yet, the main body of the monster had yet to appear above the lake.

Otto had been looking for an opportunity to strike, but he failed to find one. The main body was still inside the lake.

His magic was useless in this current situation.

Boom!

Patrick evaded the attack, but the tentacle landed not far away from him. The ground surface exploded again.

He faced the brunt of the impact force. He withstood the attack, continuing to look toward the massive tentacle.

"This 10th-order monster is clearly stronger than us," Patrick commented.

Otto heard his words and replied, "Monsters are usually stronger than human wizards."

He couldn’t help Patrick right now. He didn’t know whether it was okay to request help, but Patrick would strongly reject it anyway.

As time passed, Patrick started to feel regret. He didn’t know whether to call for help or not. It was just one of the monster’s tentacles, not even its full body.

Yet, he could not injure the tentacle.

Boom!

The calm lake surface was disturbed. A long tentacle rushed out from the water. It was the second tentacle from the lake.

The tentacle shot toward the wizard again.

Boom!

The two tentacles were now going to attack him. At the same time, Patrick released a magic spell again.

Swoosh!

In the blink of an eye, a big magic circle appeared in mid-air. The green circle then shot out a large root of entangled vines.

Boom!

In the blink of an eye, the large root came into contact with the two tentacles.

An explosion occurred.

The shock force spread across the surroundings. The huge root of entangled vines tried to withstand the two tentacles.

Right now, the confrontation was happening in mid-air.

Both sides were going against each other. The shock force cleared out the weeds and other vegetation.

A few minutes later,

Patrick was struggling. A large amount of mana was being consumed from his body. The big green magic circle began to break.

Boom!

When the magic circle broke, the two tentacles shot out toward Patrick.

Patrick received the backlash and coughed up blood.

Pfff!

Blood splattered across the ground. Otto saw that the magic circle was broken, but he was too late to react.

He saw the large tentacles reaching for Patrick, but he got there one step too late.

Boom!

The tentacles struck Patrick’s body. He flew backward like a broken kite. In the blink of an eye, he went crashing into the ground with a heavy thud.

The shock force spread across the place. Otto reached Patrick, but the tentacles moved toward him as well.

Otto’s senses were sharp, and his magic was active, so he immediately heard the slight movement.

Swoosh!

The next second, he vanished from his spot. The two tentacles struck empty space. The shock force spread across the area.

Otto then landed on the ground. He rushed to Patrick’s side.

Patrick also stood up from the ground. He looked ahead and saw the massive tentacles. Otto had evaded the attacks, but they had yet to land an injuring blow on the creature.

Both of them looked at each other. They knew a 10th-Order Monster was not easy to defeat.

Patrick had tried several attacks, but all of them were broken. They had underestimated the monster.

"Is this really a 10th-order monster?" Patrick asked.

"If it was an 11th-order monster, you would have been severely injured by that attack," Otto replied.

Boom!

The two tentacles came toward them again. They were fast and aimed directly at them, as if the monster could trace their exact location despite being under the water.

Otto and Patrick evaded the attack once again. They backed away to maintain their distance. They had to come up with a plan.

They really couldn’t injure the monster right now. They either had to ask for help to deal with it, or leave the place.

Fortunately, it was a lake monster, not a land one; otherwise, it would have attacked much more ferociously.

"We can go back and inform the Master. Maybe he is interested in fighting this one," Otto said.

Hearing that, Patrick agreed. Then, they left the place.

The two tentacles didn’t chase after them. When the wizards were out of range, the two tentacles went back into the lake.

The monster withdrew its attack and returned to the bottom of the lake.
