Harem Master: Seduction System

Chapter 440: The Mirror Image Actions

Chapter 440: The Mirror Image Actions

The spatial tear snapped shut with a deafening, crystalline fracture that reverberated through the hollowed-out geode. The absolute vacuum generated by the closing rift violently displaced the ambient air, sending a concussive shockwave rippling across the jagged obsidian floor. Ash, pulverised amethyst, and the cloying stench of vaporized marrow churned in the sudden atmospheric void.

Noble Consort Cui Yulan and the scarred warlord were gone. They had been entirely erased from the physical dimensions of the cavern, swallowed by an anomaly that defied all conventional understanding of imperial array formations.

“The rift consumed them!” Commander Jin bellowed, his voice raw, tearing through his scorched throat. He planted the butt of his heavy golden halberd into the stone, forcing his trembling, exhausted legs to support his weight. “Hold the line! Protect the Consorts! We must break these abominations!”

The sudden absence of the Violet Thunder Pavilion’s master plunged the remaining Imperial Vanguard and the Iron-Blood mercenaries into sheer, unadulterated panic. But the battlefield afforded no time for despair. The five Mutated Abyssal Husks—the resurrected, corrupted remnants of Half-Step Demon Emperor elders—did not pause to comprehend the spatial distortion.

Stripped of their conscious minds and their esoteric demonic arrays, the husks were reduced to avatars of pure, feral kinetic output. They possessed no complex martial techniques. They required no hand-seals. Their alchemically hardened, mummified musculature bulged with luminescent green fluid, propelling their eight-foot-tall frames forward with the devastating, unnatural velocity of falling boulders.

They separated, their primal instincts driving them toward the largest concentrations of living Battle Aura.

The first Abyssal Husk plummeted directly toward the center of the Imperial Vanguard.

“Phalanx! Lock the shields!” Commander Jin commanded, shifting his center of gravity low, digging the heels of his profound-steel boots into the cracked obsidian.

Twelve elite Imperial Guards rushed forward, slamming their heavy, rectangular shields together. Their interconnected Golden Battle Aura surged, forming a shimmering, five-foot-thick barricade of defensive Qi.

The husk did not attempt to bypass the wall. It lowered its shoulder, a mass of blackened, petrified flesh and jutting bone spurs, and collided head-on with the phalanx.

The kinetic transfer was apocalyptic. The golden defensive aura shattered instantly, dissipating into a shower of useless sparks. The heavy profound-steel shields buckled inward, the metal groaning and snapping under the sheer physical mass of a Level 74 equivalent monstrosity. The four guards at the absolute center of the impact experienced immediate, catastrophic trauma. Their ribcages collapsed inward, puncturing their lungs, as they were thrown backward like broken dolls. Blood sprayed from their mouths, their Dantians instantly rupturing from the internal kinetic shock.

“Golden Apex Halberd: Sweeping Cleave!” Commander Jin roared, stepping into the breach left by his fallen men.

He gripped his halberd with both hands, pivoting on his back foot to generate maximum torque. The heavy blade, coated in hyper-compressed golden Qi, sheared through the air and struck the husk directly in the ribcage.

CLANG!

The vibration shot straight down the halberd’s wooden shaft, tearing the skin from Commander Jin’s palms. The blade bit three inches into the mummified flesh before snagging on the incredibly dense, alchemically fortified sternum. The husk did not register the wound. It simply swung its elongated, bone-taloned hand in a brutal, horizontal backhand.

Commander Jin yanked his halberd free, raising the shaft horizontally to block. The bone talons scraped across the golden steel, producing a shrieking, metallic wail. The sheer physical force behind the blow lifted Commander Jin entirely off his feet, launching him fifteen yards across the cavern. He crashed into a toppled iron blood-vat, the impact violently dislocating his left shoulder.

On the right flank, Commander Vane engaged the second Abyssal Husk.

“Iron-Blood Formation! Tether and separate!” Vane ordered, his pale blue eyes tracking the erratic, loping gait of the beast.

Twenty Iron-Blood mercenaries scattered, retrieving heavy, barbed chains forged from deep-mountain iron. They threw the weighted chains, aiming for the husk’s massive arms and legs. Four chains found their mark, the barbs biting into the mummified flesh. The mercenaries braced themselves, digging their spiked boots into the stone, attempting to restrict the monster’s mobility.

The husk let out a guttural, wet screech. It planted its massive feet and simply rotated its torso.

The raw, mechanical torque generated by the creature’s corrupted musculature overpowered the mercenaries instantly. Eight men were violently yanked off their feet, dragged across the jagged obsidian, their armor shedding sparks as they collided with stalagmites.

Commander Vane did not wait for the line to fail. He charged, dragging his heavy broadsword across the floor before hoisting it upward in an underhanded, diagonally ascending strike. His heavy Earth Qi gathered along the edge, turning the blade into a crushing wedge.

He aimed for the husk’s knee joint, seeking to cripple its mobility. The broadsword struck the kneecap. The petrified bone cracked, a spray of highly acidic, luminescent green fluid erupting from the joint.

“Aim for the joints!” Vane shouted, his breath scorched by the ambient heat.

The husk reacted with feral speed. It ignored the shattered kneecap, dropping its weight and lunging forward, its jaws unhinging to reveal rows of jagged, rusted teeth. Vane barely managed to twist his torso sideways, but the husk’s bone talons clipped his chest plate. The profound-steel armor tore open like parchment. Three deep, parallel lacerations appeared across Vane’s chest, the necrotic venom instantly sizzling against his exposed flesh, causing the mercenary commander’s vision to blur from the agonizing, immediate tissue necrosis.

Further back, maintaining a desperate, coordinated rear-guard action, Imperial Consort Su Xinyue and Princess Huang Hua faced the third Abyssal Husk.

The mother and daughter fought not with the serene, detached elegance of royalty, but with a frantic, localized desperation. Su Xinyue’s physical condition was a precarious, agonizing reality. Her core muscles twitched with profound fatigue. The high-collared sapphire silk of her hunting dress, completely lacking any supportive undergarments due to Alaric’s prior commands, chafed mercilessly against her hyper-sensitive, swollen breasts with every rapid movement. Her inner thighs trembled, a lingering, heavy ache residing deep within her pelvis—a visceral, biological reminder of her complete subjugation.

Yet, she forced her Late-Stage Martial King foundation to ignite, pushing past the agonizing physiological strain.

“Azure Torrent Strike: Riptide Cascade!” Su Xinyue chanted, her breathing shallow and ragged.

She thrust her palms outward. The ambient moisture in the cavern coalesced, forming a hyper-pressurized, spiraling geyser of deep blue Water Qi. The geyser struck the advancing husk directly in the center of its mass.

The concussive force of the water peeled away layers of the creature’s rotting shrouds and stripped the top layer of its mummified skin, but the beast merely lowered its head and waded directly into the current. The sheer, physical density of its Level 74 equivalent body allowed it to push through the elemental bombardment, its heavy footfalls cracking the stone as it closed the distance.

“It is ignoring the water!” Princess Huang Hua shouted, stepping in front of her mother. The athletic princess snapped her spirit-peacock fan open, her crimson-and-gold battle skirt whipping around her thighs.

“Sweeping Phoenix Gale: Severing Arc!”

Huang Hua channeled her Early-Stage Martial King wind Qi into the fan, executing a rapid, horizontal sweep. A crescent blade of compressed, razor-sharp wind tore through the cavern, striking the husk’s right shoulder. The wind blade bit deeply into the joint, severing a thick cluster of corrupted, green-glowing muscle fibers. The husk’s right arm dropped limply to its side, the tendons irreparably sliced.

But the creature did not possess a nervous system capable of registering pain. It lunged forward using its remaining, functional left arm, its talons aiming directly for Huang Hua’s throat.

Simultaneously, forty yards away, Imperial Consort Zhao Mengxue and Princess Huang Mei were locked in a desperate evasion pattern against the fourth Abyssal Husk.

Zhao Mengxue’s breath scorched her throat. The mother of the First Prince felt the intense, burning lactic acid building in her calves as she rapidly backpedaled. Her crimson robes were stained with ash and soot. Like Su Xinyue, her body was operating on the absolute, frayed edges of endurance, her mind constantly battling the deeply ingrained, humiliating desire to simply collapse and submit.

“Do not let it close the distance, Mei’er!” Zhao Mengxue ordered, her voice straining as she gathered her Fire Qi.

“Crimson Sunburst: Scorch Earth!”

Zhao Mengxue slammed her palms against the obsidian floor. A rapid, expanding shockwave of white-hot Fire Qi rippled outward, superheating the stone beneath the advancing husk. The extreme thermal shock melted the soles of the creature’s mummified feet, sending the smell of burning tar and roasting, ancient meat into the air.

The husk stumbled, its balance compromised by the melting floor.

Princess Huang Mei seized the microscopic opening. The lithe, muscular princess darted forward, her longsword glowing with pale lavender Sword Qi.

“Ethereal Jade Sword Art: Piercing Petal!”

Huang Mei thrust her blade forward, aiming directly for the husk’s glowing, green-veined neck. Her footwork was flawless, her center of gravity low and stabilized.

The blade struck true, piercing the mummified flesh and sinking deep into the creature’s throat. However, before Huang Mei could retract the blade, the husk’s jaw unhinged. It snapped its teeth shut directly onto the steel blade of the longsword.

Huang Mei’s eyes widened in terror. She yanked on the hilt, but the beast’s jaw pressure was insurmountable. The profound-steel blade groaned, hairline fractures spiderwebbing up the metal spine. The husk raised its massive, taloned hand, preparing to crush the princess’s skull while she was tethered to her weapon.

“Release the hilt!” Zhao Mengxue screamed, lunging forward, intending to physically pull her daughter out of the kill zone.

Standing safely near the shattered, smoking entrance of the Inner Sanctum, the ‘Mirror Projection’ of Alaric observed the systematic, structural breakdown of the Imperial Vanguard’s defenses.

The construct possessed the exact physical dimensions, the faux-exhausted breathing cadence, and the meticulously suppressed Level 43 Master Mage aura of its creator. It was a flawless, autonomous extension of the Archmage’s will, linked continuously to Alaric’s consciousness as he operated within the sub-spatial void.

‘The husks rely entirely on kinetic output and physiological density,’ the clone analyzed, its ruby eyes tracking the five distinct battlefronts. ‘The Imperial forces lack the raw physical mass to halt their momentum. Their Dantians are nearly empty. Commander Jin’s left arm is severely compromised. Commander Vane is suffering active necrotic tissue degradation. The Consorts are pushing past their biological thresholds.’

The fifth Abyssal Husk, entirely ignoring the heavily armored guards, had bypassed the central melee entirely. Its feral instincts tracked the weakest, most vulnerable concentration of vital energy in the cavern. It turned its glowing green eyes directly toward the seemingly fragile, gray-cloaked scholar leaning on his wooden staff.

The beast lowered its head and charged, its heavy footfalls cracking the stone as it aimed to trample the mage into paste.

“Stand behind me, Master!” Ling Ying shouted, stepping forward to intercept the charging behemoth.

The Heiress of the Ling Clan gripped her heavy emerald broadsword with both hands. Her emerald-green Battle Aura flared, pushing back the lingering stench of blood. She dropped into a wide, defensively rooted stance, preparing to meet the crushing, Level 74 equivalent kinetic impact with her own body to protect the man who had completely shattered her mind.

‘If I allow the husks to continue unchecked, the physical integrity of my primary assets will be irreparably damaged,’ the clone calculated smoothly. ‘I must intervene. But I must do so within the rigid, accepted parameters of a skilled, dedicated healer. No lethal, high-tier spatial severances. Only supportive, restorative manipulation.’

The clone lifted the wooden staff, tapping the butt of the wood sharply against the obsidian floor.

He invoked the English-named spell, ‘Kinetic Barrier’.

He did not cast it as a massive, visible dome. He shaped the magical force into a dense, invisible, angled ramp placed exactly three feet in front of Ling Ying’s defensive stance.

The fifth Abyssal Husk closed the distance, lunging forward with a brutal, two-handed downward smash intended to crush Ling Ying into the floor.

The beast’s mummified fists met the invisible, angled Kinetic Barrier.

The spell did not attempt to completely stop the creature’s massive momentum; it merely redirected it. The husk’s fists skidded violently upward along the invisible, frictionless slope. The sudden, forced redirection of its own kinetic energy threw the beast’s center of gravity entirely backward. The creature’s arms shot into the air, its chest completely exposed, and it stumbled awkwardly, its heavy boots scrambling for purchase on the smooth stone.

“Strike the center mass!” the clone shouted, perfectly pitching his voice to sound strained and desperate.

Ling Ying did not hesitate. Recognizing the sudden, inexplicable break in the beast’s guard, she channeled the entirety of her remaining Battle Aura into her broadsword.

“Ethereal Gale: Sundering Cleave!”

She swung the heavy emerald blade in a brutal, horizontal arc. The blade sheared deeply into the exposed, mummified ribcage of the off-balance husk, severing three thick ribs and exposing the glowing, putrid green organs within. The beast screeched, falling backward onto the stone.

While Ling Ying pressed her advantage, the clone immediately shifted its focus to the broader battlefield.

‘The necrotic venom is spreading through the mercenary’s cardiovascular system,’ the clone noted, observing Commander Vane staggering backward, clutching his lacerated chest. ‘The Imperial Consorts are experiencing severe localized lactic acid buildup and muscular tearing from overriding their stamina reserves.’

The clone closed its eyes, raising its left hand, fingers splayed open. He channeled his mana, heavily filtering the purity to ensure it registered as high-tier, specialized medicinal magic rather than absolute, reality-altering power.

He invoked the spell ‘Restoration Field’.

A soft, pulsing wave of warm, pale-gold light expanded outward from the clone’s position, rippling across the cavern floor. The light washed over the battered, desperate combatants.

The effect was immediate and profoundly physical.

Commander Vane collapsed onto one knee, gasping as the pale-gold light brushed against his torn chest plate. The agonizing, burning sensation of the necrotic venom was instantly neutralized. The corrupted, blackening tissue around the lacerations ceased its degradation, the active toxins purged from his bloodstream.

“Healer magic!” Vane coughed, his vision clearing as oxygen flooded back into his brain. He gripped his broadsword, forcing himself back to his feet. “The scholar still stands! Press the attack!”

Further back, Su Xinyue and Zhao Mengxue felt the Restoration Field wash over their trembling bodies.

The deep, heavy ache in their Dantians receded. The microscopic tears in their muscle fibers, caused by continuously overriding their physical limits, instantly knit themselves back together. The chafing, raw sensitivity of their skin was soothed, replaced by a cool, invigorating comfort. Their lungs, previously burning with scorched air, expanded freely, drawing in fresh, oxygen-rich breaths.

Su Xinyue’s ethereal eyes widened. She turned her head, looking back toward the cavern entrance. She saw the gray-cloaked scholar, his staff planted firmly, his head bowed as if bearing a monumental, crushing weight.

‘Master,’ Su Xinyue thought, a profound, shuddering wave of devotion crashing through her repaired meridians. ‘He is expending his own life force to sustain us. Even exhausted, he shields us.’

Zhao Mengxue felt the same surge of corrupted reverence. She felt her stamina reserves partially replenish, pulling her back from the absolute brink of spiritual collapse.

“Do not let his efforts be in vain!” Zhao Mengxue shouted, grabbing her daughter, Huang Mei, by the shoulder and physically yanking her backward, just as the fourth husk’s massive hand swiped through the space where the princess’s head had been a fraction of a second prior.

Huang Mei abandoned her trapped longsword, letting the beast crush the steel between its jaws.

“We focus on structural dismantling!” Commander Jin roared, his dislocated left shoulder throbbing with dull pain, but the Restoration Field had stabilized the surrounding torn ligaments, allowing him partial use of the arm. “Do not engage their center of mass! Target the connective tissues! Sever their mobility!”

The tactical shift, bolstered by the clone’s continuous, subtle magical support, changed the grinding attrition of the battlefield.

Commander Jin, fighting one-handed, evaded the first husk’s brutal downward smash. As the creature’s mummified fist cracked the obsidian floor, Jin stepped onto the beast’s forearm. He drove the point of his golden halberd directly into the creature’s elbow joint.

“Pierce!” Jin bellowed, channeling a concentrated spike of Battle Aura into the tip.

The golden Qi blew the joint apart from the inside. Shards of petrified bone and green fluid erupted outward. The husk’s right arm was completely severed at the elbow, dropping uselessly to the floor.

Commander Vane utilized the distraction. He retrieved three heavy, explosive fire-talismans from his belt. As the second husk lunged for him, Vane slid beneath the creature’s guard, slapping the talons directly onto the beast’s left kneecap.

“Detonate!” Vane yelled, rolling away.

The talismans exploded in a concentrated burst of concussive force and flame. The alchemically hardened bone of the kneecap shattered completely. The husk’s left leg buckled, the sheer weight of its torso causing the creature to crash heavily onto its side, its mobility entirely neutralized.

“They cannot regenerate like the Demon Emperor!” Princess Huang Hua shouted, observing the severed limbs remaining inert on the floor. “Their vitality is massive, but finite!”

“Then we burn it out!” Zhao Mengxue commanded.

She stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Su Xinyue. The two Imperial Consorts synced their breathing, their Battle Auras intertwining in a display of flawless, cooperative martial mastery.

“Azure Torrent: Boiling Geyser!” Su Xinyue chanted, unleashing a high-pressure stream of water.

“Crimson Sunburst: Superheating Arc!” Zhao Mengxue followed instantly, unleashing a wave of intense, white-hot flames directly into the water stream.

The collision of extreme heat and high-pressure water instantly generated a massive, concentrated cloud of superheated, scalding steam. They directed the searing cloud directly into the faces of the third and fourth husks.

The extreme thermal shock blinded the creatures. The mummified flesh of their faces bubbled and peeled away, the luminescent green fluid in their eyes boiling within the sockets. The beasts shrieked, blindly thrashing their taloned hands in the air.

“Now, Mei’er! Hua’er!” Su Xinyue ordered.

Princess Huang Hua and Princess Huang Mei darted forward, utilizing the blinding steam as cover. Huang Hua’s spirit-peacock fan sliced through the hamstrings of the third husk, bringing the creature crashing down to its knees. Huang Mei, having retrieved a backup short-sword from her spatial ring, drove the blade directly into the exposed, glowing green vertebrae at the back of the fourth husk’s neck.

The blade severed the corrupted spinal cord. The fourth husk instantly froze, its internal command structure short-circuiting, before collapsing face-first onto the obsidian floor, dead.

Near the cavern entrance, Ling Ying engaged the final, grounded husk.

The creature, missing its ribs and leaking corrosive fluid, thrashed wildly, attempting to grab her ankles.

Ling Ying raised her emerald broadsword high. “Ethereal Jade Sword Art: Severing Gale!”

She brought the heavy blade down like an executioner’s axe, striking the husk directly on the neck. The profound-steel cleaved through the mummified flesh and shattered the cervical vertebrae, entirely decapitating the monster.

The severed head rolled across the stone, the green light in its eyes flickering twice before finally extinguishing.

The clone of Alaric let out a ragged, heavily exaggerated gasp, his knees buckling slightly. He leaned his entire weight against the wooden staff, panting heavily as the pale-gold light of the Restoration Field slowly faded from the cavern.

The sudden silence in the Inner Sanctum was deafening, broken only by the ragged, painful breathing of the survivors and the quiet hissing of residual necrotic venom burning holes into the obsidian floor.

The five Half-Step Demon Emperor abominations lay dead, their bodies systematically dismantled and severed.

Commander Jin slumped against a broken stone pillar, his right hand gripping his dislocated left shoulder, sweat pouring down his face. Commander Vane sat heavily on a toppled blood-vat, his chest heaving, his scarred face pale from blood loss. Dozens of elite guards lay dead or dying across the battlefield, their armor melted and their bones shattered.

Imperial Consort Su Xinyue and Imperial Consort Zhao Mengxue stood amidst the carnage. Their beautiful, aristocratic faces were smeared with ash and soot. Their high-collared silks were torn, but they were alive.

They turned their gaze toward the cavern entrance.

They saw the gray-cloaked scholar, hunched over his staff, his body trembling with simulated exhaustion.

Su Xinyue felt a tight, agonizing constriction in her chest that had nothing to do with her internal meridians. She stepped forward, ignoring the throbbing ache in her thighs, and walked directly toward the clone.

“Master Alaric,” Su Xinyue murmured, her voice stripped of all imperial haughtiness, leaving only raw, genuine gratitude. She reached out, her pale, trembling hand gently resting upon the clone’s forearm. “You… you saved us. Your healing magic… it held the line when our foundations crumbled.”

Zhao Mengxue walked up beside her, her dark eyes reflecting the exact same, deep-seated reverence. “You expended your core vitality to purge the venom from the mercenaries and knit our flesh. We owe you our lives, scholar.”

The clone slowly lifted its head, projecting a weary, humble smile that perfectly captured the essence of a dedicated, selfless physician.

“I merely provided support, Imperial Consorts,” the clone replied, its voice perfectly pitched to sound weak and strained. “Your martial prowess is what shattered the abominations. I am only glad my meager skills could be of service.”

Ling Ying stood to the side, her emerald eyes looking at the clone with total, unshakeable devotion, entirely unaware that she was speaking to a magical construct while the true consciousness of the man who owned her was currently locked away in a dimensional void, preparing to execute the final, most depraved phase of his grand design.

The immediate, feral threat of the husks was neutralized. The Vanguard had survived the grueling, horrific attrition of the battle.

But as the adrenaline slowly faded, the crushing, inescapable reality of their situation crashed back down upon the survivors.

Commander Jin pushed himself off the pillar, looking toward the center of the cavern, where the jagged, expanding crater from the spatial anomaly still smoked.

“The abominations are dead,” Commander Jin stated, his voice hollow, echoing in the vast, ruined geode. “But the Noble Consort… Cui Yulan and the warlord are gone. The spatial tear consumed them completely.”

A heavy, suffocating dread settled over the Imperial Women. They were trapped deep within the earth, their primary martial leader vanished, and their physical foundations pushed to the absolute brink.

The clone of Alaric lowered its head, perfectly mimicking their despair, while internally, the cold, calculating logic of the Archmage reveled in the flawless execution of his phantom trap.
