Chapter 468 Tree of Ashes
Chapter 468 Tree of Ashes
No mindless talk was needed.
Noah acted immediately as if all of them were nothing but fertilizer to embellish his territory.
He took hold of the souls he captured in the process of taking over the Dominion, then used them as nourishment for the very fog that made up the Dominion.
The effect came out to be just as expected. His territory became somehow stronger, and more resilient.
Next, he grabbed the Origins. There were Life, Death, Samsara, Transformation, and even Frost. He shattered them into thousands of fragments, ignoring their squeals of pain and hatred, and gave all to Providence.
The Will absorbed them into her ever-evolving Records, then created artifacts with those Origins.
Keys of Beginning, she called them that way. Afterwards, Providence explained to Noah that these Keys would be used as a way for his wives and only his wives - to grasp, in the future, an Origin.
Yes, all of them would need to create their own Origin at a later stage of their Power System.
Noah, in contrast, did not need any of these. How could he? He was the Origin itself of all inside his domain.
And even Origin was not worthy of him.
Moving on, the Prince went towards Luelle. Simultaneously, the wives were done grasping their current power and the use of Providence.
They gathered together and strode towards Noah, who was crouching down, looking at Luelle kneeling on the floor.
"What else of me do you wish to destroy?" Luelle said, her voice fragmented. "I have nothing left. You took everything of me. Everything."
"Let's not play the victim here," Noah said lazily. "You are nothing like that. And it seems you are not the only one."
He sighed, and behind his wives - Red more specifically - waves of power began to spill out, reeking too much of wrath.
"I have thought," Noah picked it up again, "that me killing you would stop any of them from foolish actions regarding me. But it looks like not."
"I wonder," his tone became colder, "do I need to slaughter all of you for you to understand?"
Luelle, even in her broken state, began to understand the meaning behind his words. She let out a slow, rasping laugh. There was a hidden, vicious delight in the news she had just heard.
And she felt happy.
Not because Noah was upset. No, she was past that state. But because she wouldn't be the only Progenitor to go through such torture at the hands of this monster.
There was also solace in knowing you were not the only one when something bad happened.
Yet when something good occurred, most would wish they held the monopoly over such things.
"I will tell you all you need to know about each of them," Luelle said, smiling with absolute lunacy.
She was completely shattered.
"But all I need is death." The Progenitor of Elves raised her hand, trying to touch Noah's face.
Thud-!
Her arm was severed, falling to the ground with green blood spluttering from the wound like gushing water.
"Don't touch him," Yuki said coldly, her orange eyes glaring at Luelle with killing intent.
She didn't even use her Gift: Sword of Severance, but only a flick of her finger.
The Paragon of Severance needed no sword. Her body itself was enough.
The pain jolting inside Luelle's body was staggering, yet she only gave a light scowl, a smile with bloodied teeth towards Yuki, then focused back on Noah.
She was used to pain now. So with blood pouring down from her, Luelle continued her words as if nothing had happened.
"Will you kill me?" she asked once more.
The situation was eerie. However, what was more frightening was the
fact none of them batted an eye at such an event.
The sight of blood, of torture, of pain and madness... all of these had become something the Vaelgrim were used to. Even Emmie acted as if nothing had happened, playing with a golden coin between her
fingers.
Now, all of these were things they basked in so deeply that none of them noticed the alien side of their own selves.
And none ever would.
"I thought you would know your place after what happened to you," Noah said softly. "I am not bargaining with you, Luelle. And I have told
you..."
He smiled coldly.
"I won't kill you."
"I beg-!"
"I need a place to store the Records of my territory," Noah cut her ever-begging words. "And I would also need a guardian."
He paused, tilting his head. "Well, I do not need it. It's only for the
aesthetic."
He smiled, but Luelle's eyes were still very much confused, yet also fearful, at what Noah was planning.
And there was not much time to even guess, for the Prince acted
immediately.
With a simple order, the space to his left ripped apart like a curtain, showing a shifting void similar yet different from what all of them
were used to.
He raised his hand, plunged it inside. And with his atomic manipulation, Noah shaped and transmuted the void into matter, creating a small budding ball of a realm.
Next, he focused on Luelle, who was looking at him with widening eyes, understanding dawning upon her.
Without giving her time to speak, Noah's hand was already upon her. He ripped away the very core of Luelle - the thing that made her the being she was - earning a shrill cry from her.
Something appeared inside his hand, shaped like a World Tree with mesmerizing green beauty.
The body of Luelle in front of them crumbled like a castle of sand.
Before disappearing into nothing, Noah took the very consciousness and True Soul of the Progenitor and placed it into the core.
Next, he took Luelle's core and fused it with the budding realm he
had just created.
The World Tree began to grow.
Noah gave it a name.
"Tree of Ashes, the House of Records."
At the name, the tree began to change appearance. Stripping its
greenish color, it took on an ashen look, splendid and unique to the
eyes. Inside the Tree - now the size of a high-ranked world - Luelle watched her own body transform, the pain of the process enough to make her lose consciousness again and again.
Soon, it stopped, the size and scale of the Tree almost touching that
of a Prime World.
Noah took the Library of Records inside his mind, made an exact copy
of it, then placed it within the Tree.
And then,
DING!
<The Tree of Ashes, House of Records has been created.>
<Guardian: Luelle of Ashes. Distinction: Eternal Slave.>
<Authorization Access: Noah Vaelgrim, The Will.>
Once the realm was established, the avatar of the Tree - Luelle
herself appeared. Her skin was grey, with matching hair and eyes. Despite all of that, her impossible beauty still clung to her.
She stared at Noah with pained, fearful eyes, pitiful to the bone.
Noah simply waved his hand, the realm closing and hiding itself within the folds of his territory.
He breathed, closing his eyes briefly. Then he stood up, turning toward his wives with a faint smile.
"Sorry for taking so long," he said, already moving toward Red and
pulling her into a hug.
Red nestled into his embrace, saying nothing, simply enjoying his
presence.
Noah continued to speak to the others, caressing the back of his War Goddess lovingly.
"Everything is ready," he said. "Now there is only one thing left to do."
The wives' eyes hardened.
"And that is to simply take control of this world as fast as possible and
go back to the Waking Universe."
"And so..."
Sophie cracked her neck left and right.
"Let's begin," she finished, her voice as cold as death.
