Chapter 503 - Ambitious Esmeray
Chapter 503 - Ambitious Esmeray
Time resumed all over the universe, and yet it was still reeling from the presence that swept over them just an instant ago and now disappeared completely.
Most inhabitants of worlds around Primus were aware of the
existence of gods and beings beyond the level of simple immortals.
But it was the first ever time they truly felt like ants being spied upon by a god.
That sensation was one they would never forget, and would be written in the very history of Primus.
For it was the day The Records showed emotions and personally introduced someone:
The Prince of Reality. The Chosen Child.
That feeling of awe and fear and deep dread did not only concern mortals; but also those at the Myriads rank and even those who created their own Axis.
As for the Progenitors...that moment was a moment of realization but also of confirmation. Because with the arrival of Noah, they knew with not a single drop of doubt left in their existence that indeed....
...there was something higher than Progenitor. Something more unique and phenomenal.
Something that would make them not a powerhouse in a simple universe, but in the whole reality. And that knowledge, coupled with their own ambition and dreams, made them act in a way few could ever believe.
Mortals could freeze at overwhelming power.
Myriads and Axis Holders could feel apprehension and decide to lay low for a while.
But Progenitors? Those were the first beings to ever exist in a universe called Primus. They could feel fear...
...but that only made them walk with more grit and stand sturdier in their own destined path.
And that...ah well, Noah realized it only after setting foot on the Dragon's Faction main world - Esmeray.
But did it matter?
...
Noah didn't know what he expected when coming to the Dragons's faction; however at least it was anything but the sight unfolding in front of him.
The Vaelgrim had appeared in a wide room - enough to hold within it a low-ranked world without problem. The walls were made of scales - of all colors and shapes - adorned in such a way they formed a massive dragon with dozens of heads scowling, snarling, spitting on all existence.
How arrogant, Noah briefly mused.
The ceiling was immensely high, smeared with blood that writhed, swirled and moved slowly across it like living millions of worms in mud.
The sight was disgusting yet strangely holy in a disturbing way. However, that was not the main concern of Noah nor the ones of his wives.
Sitting on the ground, surrounded by dozens of corpses of High elves - their bodies still rippling with concerning power despite their obvious death - was the Primordial of Dragons herself.
On her lap was the head of the father of Orion Worldborn, his blood painting Esmeray in a gory but worshipful manner.
"My feelings were indeed on point." Esmeray said, voice like a slur, her draconic eyes fixed on Noah with eerie familiarity. Then with
deliberate slowness, she slid them towards Red, or more precisely, the heart in her bloodied hand.
"Really?" Noah said, face utterly serene, "What did your feelings say, I wonder?"
"That I do not have the luxury of time to doubt my next actions." She answered calmly, her eyes fixed on her granddaughter's heart, "Otherwise I would certainly die."
She chuckled, finding the situation still quite hilarious and ridiculous, "I didn't believe it at first. After all, tell me, who could kill a
Progenitor?"
"Me." Noah shrugged.
"Yes." Esmeray finally swept her eyes from the heart and rested them
on Noah, "Yes, Noah Vaelgrim, you and only you are able to do such a thing. Or rather, you are the only one until now who dared to go far beyond only to kill us. So when I felt that danger, you can guess the first one I thought about."
"Should I be flattered?" Noah tilted his head. He looked at Diatah at
his right side,
"Should I be, darling?"
"My husband will be a disappointment if he cares about the thoughts of weaklings." She said harshly, looking at Esmeray from top to bottom with open disdain, "Especially one that is doing something they had no idea about."
Esmeray smiled coldly at Diatah's words, "You shall see, soon, if I know or know not."
She continued swiftly, taking out something from the brain of Worldborn. It was a miniature green tree, drenched in blood and colorful substance.
Noah felt a great deal of power from it, and the feeling he got was strangely familiar.
"I wasn't sure of the success of my endeavor, but you have brought with you a gift I could never hope for."
Her words were fast, yet time seemed to suddenly crawl around them. The heart in Red's hand disappeared instantly, seeming like it was swallowed by some invisible jaws.
It appeared in front of Esmeray. She didn't wait. Immediately, she opened her mouth wide, eating the heart of her granddaughter with
too much glee.
Her eyes rolled back in pleasure, feeling the wisp of the LOGOS blessing of Time and something more coursing through her body in
unseen veins.
At the same time, she took the green tree with the substance and broke it into fragments. Next she used the blood, corpses, bones of the dead high elves and transformed them into one small dagger. The fragments of the destroyed green tree fled to the dagger, coating
it like paint on a wall.
All of those actions happened while Noah was simply sitting on a chair, cross-legged, his chin resting on his fist. He looked almost
bored.
Neko and Lea were on his lap, with him caressing them gently while watching the process. Lucie, with her crow body, lay on the top of his head looking at Esmeray like a queen looking at a clown. "Won't you do anything?" Ester asked, her voice devoid of any
urgency.
There was truly no reason to. All of them, by now, knew what Esmeray wanted to achieve. It was something that would put her at a level never before seen in the whole Primus Universe if she ever
succeeded.
After all, she was attempting to take over the very right of Luelle, by being the Progenitor and Primordial of both Dragons and Elves.
It was supposed to be impossible, even with Luelle's death. But Luelle's station was now different because of Noah.
She was now the guardian of Noah's Records, the very Tree of Ashes of his Territory. That epithet made her lose her primordial station and so gave Esmeray the opportunity to snatch away that spot and power.
It was an ambitious thing, and something that would undoubtedly fail
even with all her current preparation.
However,
"I will indeed do something." Noah answered Ester, "But not to stop
her." He smiled. Raising his index finger upward, he produced a drop
of his blood.
He whispered something under his breath, and pale light entered the
blood. He flicked it towards Esmeray, just in time for the Primordial of
Dragons to stab her very soul with the dagger she had just created.
The blood of Noah mixed with the dagger and entered deep inside her soul, and even deeper, reaching her very fundamental existence. Esmeray's eyes went wide open, her mouth stretched out in search of air as her chest folded upon itself. Her very existence began to bleed, and changed in an astonishing way.
With that transmutation, her soul followed suit before her whole
body began to writhe - her skin shedding away like the moon shedding its darkness.
The whole universe began to tremble, anticipating the birth of something indeed phenomenal.
Noah turned then his head towards Red, and smiled at her.
"You can kill her once her soul is completely transformed." He said,
"and her soul is mine."
"What will you do with it?" Red inquired, already standing up, walking
towards Esmeray rolling on the ground with deep pain, shrieking and crying, going through the transformation of her new self. "What else?" Noah grinned, "We need a Soulbeast for our family,
darling" -End of Chapter 503-
