Chapter 133
Chapter 133
Tang Yan was fired up. “Move? I’ll go get my stuff right now!”
“Hey!” Ji Yuqing quickly stopped her. “Not tonight, it’s already so late. Let’s wait till the weekend, okay?”
“Okay.” Tang Yan obeyed without complaint.
“Come eat first, or it’ll get cold,” Ji Yuqing said, then added, “After dinner, I’ll take you out for a drive to practice.”
Dinner was a feast—braised meatballs, soy-braised squid, steamed perch, and several veggie dishes. Absolutely luxurious.
Tang Yan didn’t hold back. She scarfed down three big bowls of rice, eating until her stomach was round and taut, slumped in her chair, unable to move. Ji Yuqing looked on with amusement, smiling the whole time. She didn’t mind; young people should eat well. And besides, Tang Yan wasn’t even chubby.
Tang Yan stared up at the ceiling, dazed. This—this was the life she’d dreamed of: coming home from work to share a warm dinner with someone she loved. She sincerely hoped these quiet, lovely days could stretch on and on without end.
After dinner, they rested a bit, then Tang Yan took the initiative to wash the dishes and clean up. It was as if they’d silently agreed to split chores without needing to say anything.
Later, they went outside. Tang Yan held the car keys and looked at the brand-new car in front of her, feeling a little dazed. Is this really mine now? She loved the color—low-key, sleek black. Aunt Ji really got her tastes.
“I’ll be your co-pilot today. Let’s go,” Ji Yuqing said, sliding into the passenger seat.
Tang Yan’s palms were sweating. Her nerves showed, but she gritted her teeth and got in.
It had been three years since she got her license, and she hadn’t touched a car since. Everything felt so unfamiliar. Ji Yuqing patiently pointed out each control and button. Only then did Tang Yan start the engine. It was an automatic—easy enough—and gave her one less foot to worry about. Slowly, she turned the steering wheel and made a U-turn.
“Drive it out, let’s see how it feels,” Ji Yuqing prompted.
Tang Yan panicked. “Out of the neighborhood?”
Ji Yuqing answered with a look. Tang Yan took a deep breath and held it in. This was a real test.
“I didn’t rush to get the plates done on purpose,” Ji Yuqing said. “I wanted you to practice more with the temporary tags. And honestly, you’re doing way better than I expected.”
Tang Yan pulled the car onto the road. Despite the traffic, she didn’t panic—just drove with careful attention. When the street cleared up, she dared to press the gas and speed up. The wind whooshing through the window felt exhilarating, almost like she was flying.
Turns out, Ji Yuqing had worried for nothing. Tang Yan was sharp and adaptable.
“Woohoo!” Tang Yan cheered, beyond thrilled as they zipped along the highway. Before they knew it, they’d been out for ages and driven far from home.
“Yan Yan… slow down, okay?” Ji Yuqing clutched the handle above the door, her heart racing.
“Didn’t expect driving to feel this good!” Tang Yan was high on adrenaline.
“Alright, alright, just ease up a little—you’re almost speeding.”
But Tang Yan seemed not to hear. Out of nowhere, she shouted, “I love you! I love you!”
Ji Yuqing blushed instantly and turned her face to the window, but couldn’t hide the smile tugging at her lips.
By the time they got home, it was already one in the morning. Tang Yan’s excitement had finally cooled down. She drove slowly, and beside her, Aunt Ji had fallen asleep.
Seeing her like that, Tang Yan felt a pang of guilt. She’d been so caught up in the moment she hadn’t realized how late it had gotten. Now Aunt Ji was stuck out this late because of her. The guilt and heartache hit her all at once.
They finally pulled up to the house. Tang Yan carefully parked the car and gently nudged Aunt Ji awake.
Ji Yuqing stirred. “We’re home?”
“I’m sorry I dragged you out so late,” Tang Yan turned to apologize.
Ji Yuqing reached out, gave her hand a light squeeze, and smiled. “It’s okay. As long as you’re happy, I don’t mind.”
Hearing that, Tang Yan’s heart turned to mush. All she wanted was to express everything she felt. “Can I hug you?”
Ji Yuqing looked at her and gave a small nod.
The next moment, Tang Yan threw her arms around her, burying her face into her neck, her hair. She wanted to press her so close, it was as if she could melt into her. She took deep, greedy breaths of her scent. Neither of them spoke, just sat there in silence, wrapped in each other’s arms.
In that moment, Tang Yan made a silent vow: she would love her with everything she had, protect her, and take care of her—no matter what.
They stayed like that for a long, long time. Eventually, Ji Yuqing patted her back like soothing a child and asked gently, “Are we going inside to sleep now?”
Reluctantly, Tang Yan let go, her voice dreamy. “Yeah… I guess we have to. Or I’ll get fired tomorrow.”
Once inside, the two of them split off to their respective rooms.
“Aunt Ji!” Tang Yan suddenly called out, nervous.
Ji Yuqing turned around. “What is it?”
Tang Yan hesitated, battling with herself, then finally mustered the courage to ask, face flushed, “When can I… sleep in your room?”
The moment the words left her mouth, her face burned hotter, heart thumping uncontrollably. She felt so embarrassed, she wanted to dig a hole and hide.
Ji Yuqing smirked, playfully. “Ask me again once you move back in. Now go to bed.” Then she shut the door right in her face.
Tang Yan stood there frozen, swallowed hard, and silently swore—One day, I will walk into that room.
Then she couldn’t help but wonder, Was that dumb? Did Aunt Ji think I’m stupid? Or just… thirsty?
Her face burned even more. She cupped her cheeks, desperately trying to stop the R-rated scenes playing in her head. Finally, she dashed to the nearest bathroom and doused herself with cold water, trying to cool the fire raging inside her.
The next morning, Tang Yan drove her new car to work, looking and feeling like a brand new person.
With someone she loved behind her, she felt stronger, more motivated, and even more focused at work. She knew she still wasn’t financially on Aunt Ji’s level, so she had to work twice—no, three times—as hard.
During lunch, she stayed nearby and sat alone in a restaurant mostly filled with office workers from the area. She pulled out her phone and sent a message to Sister Peiwen, asking for advice.
It was embarrassing. Tang Yan kept glancing around, worried someone might see her screen. Though honestly, it was all in her head.
“Sister Peiwen, I’m living at home now, but there’s still stuff at my old rental I haven’t moved yet. Whenever I’m with Aunt Ji, I keep wanting to… y’know… do that. Is that normal?”
“Totally normal,” Peiwen replied. “It’s a basic human instinct. If you didn’t feel that way, I’d be more concerned. And come on, with a gorgeous, mature woman like her in front of you? Anyone would be tempted.”
“So what should I do? Should I hold back?” Tang Yan asked. It was her first relationship—she had zero experience and was super cautious.
“Tell you what,” Peiwen said. “Let’s meet after work and talk about it in person. You pick the place.”
So Tang Yan made a reservation at a trendy restaurant for dinner.
It wasn’t big, but it had a charming vibe—one of those spots trending online. She didn’t know much about this kind of place and just booked the top one on the list.
“Is that your car out front? Damn, cool ride,” Peiwen said, showing up fashionably late, dressed even more polished than usual.
Tang Yan beamed, hands resting on the table, giving full dorky fangirl energy. “Aunt Ji gave it to me.”
“Alright, alright, don’t rub it in. Don’t be flaunting your happy relationship in front of a forever-single soul like me.” Peiwen covered her ears, though she couldn’t help muttering, “So jealous. Ji-jie really goes all out.”
Tang Yan leaned in, curious. Anything about Aunt Ji, she wanted to know.
“Back when we were in the same department and landed a huge client, she rented out a whole villa outside the city. Hosted a three-day party—poolside hangouts, outdoor barbecues, the works.”
“Oh… did she wear a bikini in front of everyone?” Tang Yan asked, jealousy flickering in her eyes.
“Nope,” Peiwen said, surprised. “We were all dying to see it, too. Thought for sure we’d get nosebleeds. But she never did.”
Tang Yan breathed a quiet sigh of relief, secretly gloating. But she still remembered when Aunt Ji wore one just for her—and how she’d actually gotten a nosebleed. Pathetic.
Their conversation paused when the waiter brought their grilled meat. Once the table was set, they picked up where they left off.
“So,” Peiwen said with a smirk, “you wanted advice about that thing, right?”
Tang Yan gave her a deadpan look. “No teasing.”
“I wouldn’t dare. Look, it’s completely normal. You’re together now—it’s gonna happen eventually. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. As long as she’s into it, you can totally make the first move.” Peiwen paused, then added knowingly, “She’s older, so she might be shy about it. You’ll probably need to take the lead.”
Tang Yan gave a small nod, half-understanding, her face slowly heating up.
Then Peiwen leaned closer. “If you’re worried about not knowing what to do… I can send you a file.”
“What file?” Tang Yan blinked, confused.
“A folder I’ve been curating for years. You’ll learn a thing or two.”
“You can learn this stuff?” Tang Yan looked even more lost, but clearly curious.
“For a newbie like you, it’s the fastest way. I’ll send it to you tonight.”
“What’s in the folder, though?” Tang Yan asked, still innocent.
“Love videos~”
“Pfft—” Tang Yan nearly spit out her drink. She grabbed a glass of water and downed it, trying to keep her cool.
