Chapter 103: The Second Woman to Changbai Mountain

On a highway leading to Baishan City, a dark green Hummer sped through the icy snow. Chen Siran sat inside, her large eyes fixed on the endless road ahead.

Chen Siran knew that driving so fast on icy roads was dangerous, but she was too impatient. She wished she could sprout wings and fly straight to Changbai Mountain; she couldn’t wait even a quarter of an hour.

“Conghu, could you drive a little faster?” Chen Siran said.

“Miss, I’m driving a car, not a plane.” Even Guo Conghu, usually so daring, was somewhat exasperated after glancing at the speedometer.

If he were alone, he might have been able to drive faster, but Chen Siran was inside the car; he couldn’t risk her life.

Chen Siran glared at him and urged, “Conghu, I know you’re very capable, don’t lie to me.”

Guo Conghu sighed and said, “Miss, I understand your feelings, but this isn’t safe. What if something happens?”

Chen Siran remained silent, only staring at him. 

Guo Conghu couldn’t bear her gaze, so he slowly accelerated, gripping the steering wheel tightly with both hands.

The car was now traveling at 150 km/h. On a southern highway, Guo Conghu could handle it with ease, but in this place, at this speed, he dared not be distracted for even a moment.

Chen Siran understood that this put Guo Conghu in a difficult position, but she had no choice. She couldn’t rest easy until she knew Jiang Feng’s safety.

Chen Siran had originally planned to take a direct flight from the capital to Changbai Mountain, but the airport in Changbai Mountain was closed, so she had to go to Changchun first and then drive over.

This detour wasted a lot of time, making Chen Siran feel like each day was an eternity.

Fortunately, an hour later, the Hummer finally entered Baishan City smoothly. Guo Conghu was slightly relieved, slowed down, and drove towards the Changbai Mountain Scenic Area.

The car finally stopped at the entrance of the scenic area. 

Chen Siran couldn’t wait to get out, bought tickets, and instead of taking the tour bus, she pulled Guo Conghu directly inside. Guo Conghu didn’t know how someone as delicate as Chen Siran could have such strength. He wasn’t paying attention and was practically being dragged along by her. He quickly quickened his pace to keep up.

“Miss, slow down. We still have to climb the mountain later, which will be very tiring. Walking so fast will take a toll on your body,” Guo Conghu had to advise.

“Conghu, when did you become so nagging?” Chen Siran said, somewhat annoyed.

Guo Conghu scratched his head and smiled wryly, saying, “I’m not being long-winded, I’m doing this for your own good. Besides, we sneaked out this time. If the old man finds out, he’ll break my legs.”

“If you’re scared, then go back,” Chen Siran said stubbornly, almost defiantly.

“It’s alright, we’ll go back after we find Jiang Feng. It won’t take much time,” Chen Siran said.

Guo Conghu had followed Chen Siran for many years, so he knew her temper all too well. Although Chen Siran spoke lightly, Guo Conghu didn’t think things were simple.

He had heard about Jiang Feng’s actions and had even admired Jiang Feng’s courage. After all, Jiang Feng had not only crippled Li Yuanjue but also killed Qin Shiming, essentially offending both the Li and Qin families.

These things weren’t exactly a secret, so Qin Jun said it directly, partly to do Chen Siran a favor.

“He’s already left?” Recognizing this, a faint smile appeared on Chen Siran’s face. The reason she came to Changbai Mountain was because she was worried about Jiang Feng. But since Jiang Feng had left, it meant he was definitely safe, at least until the Qin and Li families found him.

The reason she asked so directly was, of course, intentional. The Qin family had been searching for Jiang Feng for some time and certainly knew more than she did.

Qin Jun didn’t understand why Chen Siran seemed happy. Logically, since she came to find Jiang Feng, if he had really left Changbai Mountain, she should be very disappointed.

She didn’t really need to find Jiang Feng, because even if she did, it wouldn’t solve the problem at its root. Knowing that Jiang Feng was safe for the time being was enough.

The presence of the Qin and Li families meant they had no leads on Jiang Feng, and this matter was beyond her control.
