Just when the people of Rakos Empire had barely managed to accept their helpless fate against the unfair system that governed them in the name of 'democracy'... out of nowhere, a rumor started circulating within the masses.

The government could subdue people's protests and marches with the power of saints but they could not stop them from talking.

There simply wasn't enough of a workforce to mandate what people spoke when they gathered together since it was still assumed to be a 'free' nation.

And if they applied any more force than before... that would mean national instability as people would burn down the government institutions and stop supporting any law authority altogether if forced to the edge.

Because both the government and the business market needed people. Without them, the first two entities had nothing.

And yet amidst the barely snubbed flames of seething rage... the new rumor shook the entire population to their core.

It all started from spies of the Seven Deadly Sins who previously did a marvelous job at spreading Whisper among the population.

Their target was local farmers, food vendors, cafes, and shop owners, which spread to bars and restaurants, eventually reaching the ears of all noble clans and government authorities.

The said truth made people even angrier because their already despaired minds felt like even the sliver of hope they could have had in these dark times... was killed by all these powerful people within the government and noble factions.

The rumor mentioned the name of Kahn Salvatore, the genius and magnanimous Soveirgn of Verlassen fiefdom.

They ignored that part of the Rakos Empire for centuries but as soon as he solved all the problems, they had killed him covertly. But as if predicting his predetermined demise, Kahn Salvatore had left a recording to expose them as a failsafe so they couldn't have the last laugh.

And as his final command... he abolished the Sovereign system for the fiefdom and turned it into a democratic land.

And people had turned out nothing but far more prosperous after they elected an entirely new regime led by a man named Tobias, rumored to be a close friend of the late Kahn Salvatore.

Even to this day, many people envied the prosperity of Verlassen and how fulfilling lives the citizens of the fiefdom now lived compared to their own.

The name Kahn Salvatore was synonymous with Salvation in the eyes of citizens of the Rakos Empire.

A man born in the bloodshed within his motherland returned to change the fate of his people and even succeeded in doing so. But unfortunately... meeting his demise at the hands of those who coveted his motherland.

Kahn Salvatore had undergone a trial held by Lezron Mikealson's remnant soul whose purpose was to find a rightful successor with loyalty and unquestionable devotion to the people of the Rakos Empire... so he could become the next Emperor.

Kahn Salvatore had not only passed the trial with flying colors, as he was already dedicated to his mission to save his motherland, the Verlassen freedom, but now he swore to rid the empire of the plague called the government solely run by the nobles, turning the people of the nation into mere livestock.

Passing the trial granted him knowledge and abilities to increase his strength and talent rapidly... a reward given to him by the First Sage, Lezron Mikealson.

It evidently helped Kahn Salvatore win the Emperor's Chosen and change the fate of his motherland when the government had abandoned its people for over a century after the uprising and extinction of imperial rule.

Yet after Kahn Salvatore fixed all the issues and was about to become a 1st-stage Saint... all these noble factions got the wind of his true nature.

That he was the rightful heir and the leader of the Rakos Empire... approved by the founding fathers as a person destined to bring true freedom and fairness to the people of this nation.

Yet the hope he could have brought to people and offer them truly meaningful lives where they had a chance to turn their lives for the better with their own hard work, and not withheld methodically by the corrupt system that was oppressing them even to this day...

Was killed by these very perpetrators.

The next day... this rumor was aggressively spread by everyone who heard of it as if concerned all of their lives and future.

The wake-up call given by Whisper had already filled their hearts with anguish and now after learning that they actually had someone who was already proven to be a hero of the common people; and wanted to save all the citizens across the whole empire... was also killed off.

The rage and hatred they harbored was no longer about their place in the society... the only option left was a war...
