Hero of Darkness

Chapter 1310: The Battlefront

Chapter 1310: The Battlefront

1 Month Later…

A 500-kilometer perimeter, filled with charred landscape and bloodied plains, came into sight. The grim atmosphere around these wide and open grounds was enough to give anyone a morbid mood, as nothing but corpses were the only thing you saw everywhere.

Finally, at the border of this macabre battlefield… was a vast garrison that spanned 300 kilometers itself. Here, it was less of a military outpost and more of a collection of functioning cities instead.

Plenty of ginormous fortresses that spanned 10 to 15 kilometers, an endless number of troops, and more than 20 thousand flying warships clouding the sky appeared as a feeling of impending doom loomed over the garrison.

This place was called Vale Sangaris, one of the four military outposts of the empires that fought against the armies of the Demon Empire.

Multiple troops, numbered in the millions, from different empires… had now inhabited Vale Sangaris for years at this point and took part in recurring battles against the innumerable armies of the Khorne Empire.

And today… a grand envoy of the United Empires of Rakos and the Abyss Empire had arrived in tens of millions of soldiers through ground and aerial militia.

Their arrival itself put the residents in chaos, as no empire had sent this kind of troops altogether at once to this garrison in recent years.

While they were all part of the 12 empires under gods, each of them had barely sent more than 5 million soldiers on each front. But the envoy who arrived alone had more than 20 million troops.

Many commanding officers of these empires soon learned that this was just the first batch, and two to three more troops of the same capacity would arrive in the next 10 days.

Now, each empire had its own sectors divided within this vast garrison and basically controlled everything within those sectors. However, there were certain areas abandoned by them since they had no claim over those lands.

But today… the original owners of those lands arrived, while a new empire that never took part in the Great War was also among them.

Thankfully, an entire valley region, filled with multiple mountains and canyons, was available just on the northern edge of the garrison, so it had been under development for the troops of the Rakos Empire to occupy.

So after an entire day, all the incoming forces were finally able to settle their soldiers and war machinery in their designated sectors.

As for what kind of a journey it was for them… that was quite a tale on its own.

******************

Within the past month…

Different troops under Kahn had ventured through multiple routes, passing through various empires and paths where they also underwent the same as the one Rudra experienced in the Beast Empire.

As part of the official envoy, many people tried to mess with other envoys throughout their journey because of their origins. And thankfully, these empires were not so keen on sharing internal information; Kahn’s subordinates had their moment to shine.

Among them, subordinates like Ceril and Blackwall made even a bigger spectacle out of the hosts who tried to create trouble for them or disrespect their empires.

Ceril almost killed one of the host empire’s generals, and Blackwall simply put over a thousand soldiers within a pyramid made of minerals as if he was burying them alive, just to send a message.

Oliver almost destroyed an entire garrison, launching endless arrows made of wind element and barely stopping them above the heads of the opponents, showcasing how he was the lord of the skies who could destroy their entire army if they pissed him off.

Armin almost launched a biochemical virus and made most of the hosts kneel in front of him during such events, and only then did he offer them an antidote.

Jugram followed a similar method to Rudra, and in one of the incidents, he even beat a Peak 6th-stage saint with just one punch. Thus, shattering their pride as effortlessly as one could.

While Ronin did not confront them right on the spot… he simply summoned an army of souls and put the fear of god among the host. Sometimes, he even summoned the souls of those the host had wronged and let out their crimes as the public heard them.

He was exposing everyone outright while his own entourage easily overpowered the arrogant idiots who dared to look down on them.

Tobias and the other three subordinates also did not shy away from absolutely wrecking their opponents and upholding their pride while trampling on those who dared to project their superficial supremacy.

Similar incidents occurred across several junctions hosted by different empires in the past 1 month alone, as they all finally reached their respective fronts of the Khorne Empire in all four directions.

All the hosting empires that shared the misfortune of coming across Kahn’s people took a step back, and their names were already on the top list. Some wanted to exact revenge, while some simply wanted to avoid them at all costs.

Nevertheless… everyone was aware of Kahn’s forces and how each envoy had at least one 7th-stage saint, while some extraordinary saints also showed up among them.

Those who had their egos shattered made note, while the ruling authorities of the hosting empires became incredibly wary of the man named Kahn Salvatore.

While some of the empires did not have any routes leading to the Khorne Empire, their intelligence department that was planted within Vale Sangaris also heard about this news and instantly reported it to their respective authorities.

And as the next day came…

Everyone had heard of the might of the Rakos and the Abyss Empire.

******************

The sector occupied by the new arrivals was called Area 51.

This place now contained the unified force of two empires present here, and Kahn’s people were supposed to help the armies fighting the true demons.

Soon, the first troops to arrive went to a headquarters where the council of the great war had a hub, and most of the battlefield deployments were discussed among the representatives of the empires in this very building.

A tall red building that stood 300 meters tall and 4 kilometers long hosted the elite forces of the empires, which often held important positions such as cavalry or specialized units on the battlefield. Each empire’s forces were armored with the best they had to offer, and many of them were above Master Rank.

One could say it hosted thousands of Grandmasters, hundreds of Semi-Saints, and close to 300 Saints.

However, it was hard to imagine all of their ranks because plenty of magic formations and artifacts were placed in this headquarters building, so no one could use their powers to cause trouble, such as killing the other empires’ troops as part of some political espionage.

Woosh!

Screech!

The screeching noise of the engine from the flying ship echoed in the surroundings as one of the landing zones had a massive ship dropping in.

Dozens of operatives soon made the safe landing possible, and a lot of guards came to welcome the envoy.

Step!

Step!

Soon, the envoy from the ship’s main door came into sight as the guards below bowed in respect.

And the next moment…

A man with luscious, fiery red hair, with two demonic horns and black tattoos spread across his exposed upper body came into sight. On his back were two large demonic wings, as his tall frame emanated an aura of utter dominance.

The one in charge of representing the Rakos and the Abyss Empire in Vale Sangaris was none other than Jugram.

On this front, three of Kahn’s subordinates were to lead their forces, and Jugram was the first one to arrive as well as to assume the chain of command here.

Thud!

Thud!

As armored soldiers, all of them Grandmasters and above, escorted Jugram… the atmosphere turned heavy as thousands of people saw the banners of the Rakos and Abyss Empire.

Soon, many started whispering amongst themselves as Jugram led his entourage towards the central area of the headquarters of the garrison, where he would soon meet the leading commanders of all the empires.

Half an hour later…

A large hall, filled with intricate decor and plenty of monumental objects that evoke the feelings of a great warrior within one’s heart… was where a meeting was being held among the top dogs of the empires.

“Where is he? I thought we were supposed to hand over the frontlines to them as soon as they arrived. But not only did their leader not show up… we have also received reports of the Khorne Empire showing movements since yesterday evening.

If they launch a pincer attack, we need to be ready to rally our forces instead of relying on people who haven’t even fought on this battlefront before.” spoke a feathery warrior with the head of an owl and body adorned in green metallic armor.

This was a representative from the Empire of Wind.

And he was not the only one with complaints about the new arrivals, as all of them had their preconceived notions ready.

Yesterday, they all received reports about how the incoming troops had humiliated their empires as hosts, and now, they held an obvious grudge.

Creak!

The large door to this room creaked as a burly, ripped figure walked in.

The temperature of the room instantly rose as the flaming hot aura of tyrannical magnitude instantly pressurized them.

And soon, a stoic as well as majestic voice resounded in the hall, sending shivers across those present…

“I am here to take command.”
