His Highness the Crown Prince Always Wants to Marry Me

Chapter 11: He’s a Person With a Story

Chapter 11: He’s a Person With a Story

Yu Qing Qian found a secluded cave and let the Scarlet Flame Horse out to find food on its own.

“Can you cook?” She turned to look at Huo Li Ruo.

Huo Li Ruo nodded: “Yes.”

After finishing all the dried food he brought with him along the way, he always went to hunt some food and cooked it himself.

Yu Qing Qian tossed the two rabbits she caught along the way to him, along with several packets of seasonings, “I’ll leave them to you, be sure not to burn them.”

Huo Li Ruo’s expression darkened, “Don’t underestimate me.”

“You’re a pampered crown prince, isn’t it normal for people to doubt your practical ability?” Yu Qing Qian chuckled.

“Why don’t you do it yourself then?” Huo Li Ruo raised an eyebrow.

“I just spent too much energy on expelling the poison for you, I need to take a rest.” Yu Qing Qian loved delicious food. If it weren’t for refining the poison essence quickly, she’d also want to do it herself. She was very deeply sceptical in Huo Li Ruo’s skills,

“Humph.” Huo Li Ruo snorted coldly but stopped dwelling on the issue and walked to the side to collect firewood.

Yu Qing Qian walked into the cave and sat cross-legged. She forced the drop of black poison essence sucked out of Huo Li Ruo’s body out of her dan’tian1 and began to refine and absorb it bit by bit with her variant abilities.

After about two hours, there was a fragrance coming from outside the cave. She opened her eyes and stretched.

The poison in Huo Li Ruo’s body was far inferior to the little boy’s she met when she was a child. After refining them all, her wood-class healing variant ability improved slightly, but she didn’t even breakthrough to the second level.

However, ‘no matter how small a grasshopper was, it was still meat’. Once her variant powers improve, it’d be much easier for her to remove poison for others.

As soon as she walked out of the cave, she saw the boy in red focusing on roasting two rabbits beside a bonfire in the dark night.

The constant leaping and shaking of the fire reflected on Huo Li Ruo. His handsome face, which was androgynous, devilish, and flamboyant, flickered, giving off a rather hazy sense of beauty.

Huo Li Ruo raised his head and saw Yu Qing Qian walking over. He caught the look of pure surprise and admiration in her eyes, and his lips subconsciously raised into an arc.

“Here.” He handed her a roasted rabbit.

Yu Qing Qian noticed that the roasted rabbit looked rather good, took a bite, then her eyes lit up, “I didn’t expect you to have such skills.”

“I often go out for training. Got to survive in the wild, so I naturally slowly learnt everything.” Huo Li Ruo took out a dagger and elegantly cut the meat to eat it.

“You, the Crown Prince of Wen Huo Kingdom, needs to go out on your own to train often?” Yu Qing Qian looked at him faintly.

She felt that Huo Li Ruo was a person with a story.

A smile of ridicule appeared on Huo Li Ruo’s lips, “If I didn’t go out alone to train, hone and grow, I would’ve long died today.”

Yu Qing Qian said calmly: “Actually, there’s nothing wrong with that either. People still have to rely on themselves in the end. As long as you’re strong enough, you can repay all the wrongs you’ve suffered, and you can make people who’ve tortured you live worse than death, then take back everything that belongs to you.”

During the apocalypse, she had always been a person who must take revenge for the smallest grievances, and she felt that Huo Li Ruo was also the same type of person.

“You’re right. My Emperor Father once said this too.” Mentioning his Emperor Father, Huo Li Ruo’s originally indifferent expression became a little gentler.

Yu Qing Qian was a little surprised when she noticed the warmth in his eyes. She originally thought that Huo Li Ruo was being framed by his stepmother because his father didn’t care. It seemed like that wasn’t it, but she didn’t ask anymore questions.

Huo Li Ruo had a better impression of Yu Qing Qian. He disliked women who pretended to be kind but actually had vicious intentions. This kind of direct and vicious temperament was more likeable.

“By the way, we will arrive at the Royal Academy after three more days.” He paused, then said: “Let’s go separately starting tomorrow.”

Although that vicious woman didn’t dare send an expert to kill him, but she’d definitely have a secret hand hidden in the Royal Academy. He didn’t want to expose the fact that Yu Qing Qian saved him.

“Sure!” Yu Qing Qian knew what he meant, and she didn’t like trouble either.

1veteran cultivation readers would know what this is, but just fyi, the dan’tian is somewhere in your body near your stomach area, and it’s like a place that stores whatever energy is used for cultivation. A lot of things can be done through the dan’tian, and some novels even have cultivators opening up a space in them (from memory). It’s almost like a power source, if it’s destroyed, you become just a normal person.
