His Highness the Crown Prince Always Wants to Marry Me

Chapter 125: Plant Inscription Test (One)

Chapter 125: Plant Inscription Test (One)

Feng Chen accompanied Yu Qing Qian into the testing area and stood to the side, returning to his cold, and fallen immortal appearance.

The gentle and warmth temperament just now seemed to be short-lived, or maybe it was just unique to Yu Qing Qian.

Huo Li Ruo furrowed his brows and stared at Feng Chen from behind. If his gaze could kill, countless holes would’ve been poked through Feng Chen’s body.

A moment later, two elderly men, one wearing white, one wearing black, who looked exactly the same but had very different temperaments, walked into the testing area together.

When the old students saw the two of them, they immediately stopped their chatting.

The freshmen stopped chatting inexplicably when they saw this and looked curiously at the two elderly men who appeared.

The two of them were relatively well-known in the Royal Academy. They were the Department Leaders of the Plant Inscription Department, not divided into deputy or main, and the two were also twin brothers.

The first to speak was the elderly man in white with a gentle temperament and a smile on his face.

“Who expected that there would be so many freshmen in this session who would come to sit the test for the Plant Inscription Department.” He continued with a smile: “You all have good vision. Our Plant Inscription Department is indeed the most promising and brightest career.

“Our Plant Inscription Department has always valued freedom and friendliness. We’re not like the two tigresses in the Potions Department who are too strict and demanding, and we’re not as boring as that person with face-paralysis1 in the Forging Department.

“We believe that you will never regret coming to take part in the Plant Inscription Department’s test today.”

Hearing the words of the elderly man in white, everyone couldn’t resist twitching their lips.

They wondered what the two tigresses from the Potions Department and that face-paralysis person form the Forging Department would think if they heard what you had said?

Yu Qing Qian raised the corners of her lips—this old man sure was interesting.

Seeing that the old students in the Plant Inscription Department looked like they were expecting the freshmen to fall into the wolf’s den, she believed that the white-clothed elderly man was definitely speaking the opposite.

Feng Chen hadn’t introduced the Plant Inscription Department to Yu Qing Qian in detail before, but he had told her to definitely fight to obtain it.

Yu Qing Qian knew that Feng Chen definitely didn’t want her to join with the intention of watching a good show like others, which showed that these two Department Leaders, one black, one white, should be really capable.

However, the use of plant inscriptions on this continent was indeed too great, and too broad.

Most importantly, there were three benefits: First, one could engrave plant inscriptions on spiritual plants contracted by the Spiritual Plant Master to make it more powerful, or some kind of functional effect could be derived from it; second, one could engrave plant inscriptions on weapons, supporting and increasing the strength of the weapon, and it could also derive some special functions; thirdly, a powerful Plant Inscription Master could also refine powerful inanimate creatures, whether they’re used in daily life arrangements or in battles, they were very good helpers who would never betray.

Some Plant Inscription Masters could also research and develop some other special abilities, but they mainly were targeted towards individuals.

Hence, Plant Inscription Masters was the most high-end and most sought-after profession on the entire continent and was also the target of various major forces to compete for and win over.

Just when everyone’s emotions were aroused, the elderly man in white smiled and said with some rather unkind intentions: “However, there are definitely not make people who can pass this test. Although you chose the Plant Inscription Department, but I will eliminate you without any mercy.”

“…” Everyone suddenly felt like vomiting blood. Was he playing them?

The elderly man in black glanced at the freshmen taking the test and said in an unusually cold voice: “Let’s begin the test.”

The elderly man in white smiled and waved to a young man below, “Xiao Luo Luo2, please arrange the test for the new students.”

Si’tu Luo was already used to the elderly man in white being so carefree and unprofessional. He walked to the front and said to the freshmen taking the test: “The test of the Plant Inscription Department is the same as that of the other departments, and is also divided into two rounds.”

1not literally. In China, a slang term for a person (usually male) with a cold, expressionless face, is 面瘫 miàn tān. It started as a joke, I think, to describe all those cold and expressionless male leads in cdramas lol.

2The ‘xiǎo’ (小) in this case is not a surname, but a term of endearment often translated to ‘little’—just to clarify any confusions since there are Xiao surnames (not the same Chinese character). The word itself does translate to ‘little’ and you might see translators translating it to ‘little’ (i.e Little Luo Luo), but I decided to stick with ‘xiǎo’ this time. It’s often used as a cute way of addressing a female or a child, but sometimes a male too (such as this case by the unprofessional, carefree elderly man in white hahahaha). Another term of endearment is adding the ‘er’ (儿) at the end of names, like the ‘Ran’er’ child that we were introduced to in the very first chapter when the mum abandoned Yu Qing Qian. ‘er’ is not a part of the child’s name (although I have heard names where their official name does have the 儿 at the end.) Repeating a character in someone’s name is also a term of endearment. Just like Feng Chen calling Yu Qing Qian ‘Qian Qian’, and it would not usually be used unless they have a very close relationship.
