Chapter 21: Strike Up a Conversation (Two)
Chapter 21: Strike Up a Conversation (Two)
They could tell that the two girls standing in front of them admired Feng Chen more and didn’t look like they wanted to seduce him.
However, no matter what the reason was for approaching Feng Chen, they would all be disappointed.
“Hi, junior sisters!” The good-looking man was more considerate towards the girls and smiled kindly.
Ji Ling Shuang couldn’t help feeling a little discouraged when she saw Feng Chen not looking at them, but at the same time, she felt an impulse.
A charming smile bloomed on her stunning face and she looked at Feng Chen and greeted: “Hello, Senior Feng!”
Feng Chen raised his eyes, nodded very coldly as a greeting, then played with the wine cup in his hand nonchalantly, showing obvious indifference and disregard for Ji Ling Shuang and Xia Ying.
Xia Ying was a little embarrassed when she saw this, and she gently tugged on the corner of Ji Ling Shuang’s sleeve.
Ji Ling Shuang also didn’t expect that Feng Chen was really like the rumours, a cold and indifferent fallen immortal who was very difficult to approach.
She discovered that the other three people at the table with Feng Chen were looking at them with interest and eyes of amusement, and she wanted to beat these three people who wanted to continue watching the show, but she wouldn’t let them get their way.
“Four Seniors, please continue, we won’t interrupt you any longer.” Ji Ling Shuang said with a hint of gritted teeth.
She knew that this strike-up was a complete failure. This was the first time she had met such a cold and indifferent man.
However, there was no unwillingness nor desire to conquer in her heart. She knew that this man wasn’t someone she could afford to offend.
Although she was relatively confident in her charm, but she wasn’t certain anymore if the target was the most difficult person to conquer among the female students of the Royal Academy.
There were too many rumours about this man. She didn’t believe it completely before, but when she met his cold and distant eyes just now, she believed.
It was simply difficult for a woman to control such a man, at least, she didn’t have that ability.
The good-looking man smiled gently and invited: “Would you two juniors like to sit for a while longer?”
“No need, we have two friends still waiting over there.” Ji Ling Shuang politely smiled and declined, greeting them, then dragged Xia Ying back to their original seats.
Yu Qing Qian watched the scene just now and she found that that guy was still the same aloof and tsundere as expected.
When she was two, she spent a year with the five-year-old Feng Chen, so the image of Feng Chen who was still black-bellied and cold-faced and occasionally a little tsundere still remained in her mind.
Xie Shu had already learnt about the several influential figures in the Academy from her elder brother. Among them, Feng Chen occupied the top of the list of those who should not be provoked and offended. It was expected that Ji Ling Shuang two would fail to strike up a conversation.
It wasn’t that she wanted to watch the two’s joke, but that they both had restless tempers and would probably not believe it until they hit a wall.
“Is he as distant towards women as in the rumours?” Xie Shu looked at Ji Ling Shuang with a bit of a tease.
Ji Ling Shuang pursed her lips and said: “Don’t mention it, he simply ignores lao’niang’s1 charm, how boring.”
“Are you going to continue demonstrating your charm?” Xie Shu half-joked.
Ji Ling Shuang shook her head: “Forget it, this miss is still very self-aware. Whether a man is likely to be hooked in the future can be known by looking at his eyes. But when he looked at us, he had no desire nor wishes, so you know, we have no chance.”
“You sound like a veteran who’s been through thousands of flowers and none has ever touched you2.” Yu Qing Qian said jokingly.
Ji Ling Shuang blinked: “You even discovered that.”
“Then let’s have a few more drinks.” Yu Qing Qian discovered that Ji Ling Shuang’s temperament was rather free and unrestrained, but she wasn’t the kind of frivolous or promiscuous woman.
“Alright, in order to mourn the loss of my charm for the first time, let’s have a few more drinks.” Ji Ling Shuang didn’t take the failure of the strike-up seriously. She raised her glass and said with a smile.
“Cheers!”
The four people with different auras and temperaments raised their cups together, and this moment also established their deep friendship in the future.
1‘lao’niang’ is an equivalent to ‘lao’zi’ and also an arrogant way of self-address, but for females. It literally translates to ‘mother’ and ‘father’ respectively, and also can be translated into ‘your old mother’ and ‘your old father’ when used for self-address, but it would sound weird said in certain circumstances, so I’m leaving it as its pin’yin
2usually used to describe men, but means they’re flirtatious and unrestrained with many women after him, but no woman could win him nor control him and he knows how to get rid of these women too, allowing him to live by himself. Now just apply it to Ji Ling Shuang XD
