¹from my understanding of the author, many internet slang is used in the stories written. The word used here is 魔性 which translates literally to ‘demonic/devilish character/nature’ (and a play on the nickname for YQQ, 大魔王 aka Great Demon King). According to Baidu, it’s an internet slang that has the meaning that someone/thing is very unique or has some special attributes that’s also very strongly attractive and magnetic. Usually it’s used in a situation where the thing/person this word is referring to is usually not accepted by society much (let’s say, due to having an ugly appearance) yet as time passes, as well as one’s experiences (such as interacting with this thing/person with an ugly appearance), it becomes more accepted, and there may even be an irresistible charm and attraction to it (perhaps due to their personality and actions). Devilish charm is the closest translation I can think of. It’s not the first time this phrase has been used in this novel, but I just thought to mention it here.
