His Highness the Crown Prince Always Wants to Marry Me

Chapter 5: Bet

Chapter 5: Bet

Yu Qing Qian ignored the sunny boy and turned her gaze out the window again.

The sunny boy’s eyes revealed some interest.

He casually struck up a conversation with Yu Qing Qian, “What kind of wine did you order? It looks pretty good.”

Yu Qing Qian took a sip of the wine in the cup and said slowly: “There’s a bartender beside you, he can introduce you to any wine you want.”

The small town was the only way to the centre of the Southern Continent. Yu Qing Qian found that both the pedestrians on the road and the customers in the bar were mainly teenage boys and girls, who must be going to register for the Royal Academy.

The sunny boy waved to the bartender and ordered a cup of the same wine as Yu Qing Qian.

He took a sip and was a little surprised. Few women would like to drink such strong wine.

“This wine has a strong taste, just like you.” He smiled at Yu Qing Qian with a somewhat flirty tone.

Yu Qing Qian turned her head and looked at the sunny boy from head to toe. She narrowed her eyes and said with a half-smile: “Haven’t even grown all your hair and you’ve learnt to flirt with women, come back in a few years.”

She could see that this young boy spoke with indecency, but his eyes were very clear—he must be suffering from chuunibyo1.

“Pfft! HAHA…” Right now, a handsome young boy wearing brocade clothes came over with several people. He happened to hear Yu Qing Qian’s words and couldn’t resist laughing.

He looked at the sunny boy jokingly and said: “Qi Rui, a veteran like you who ‘walks through the midst of a myriad of flowers, but not a single leaf touches your body2’ can actually have times where you’re mentally attacked.”

Qi Rui’s expression darkened, and he glared at the handsome young boy, “Gong Hao, shut up.”

Gong Hao pursed his lips, then his gaze landed on Yu Qing Qian and asked with a smile: “Is the beauty also registering for the Royal Academy?”’

Yu Qing Qian raised an eyebrow, “So what?”

“We’re also going to register for the Royal Academy, so how about we travel together.” Gong Hao suggested with a smile.

“Not interested.” Yu Qing Qian shook the wine cup in her hand and refused.

These two young boys should be members of some royal family of a certain kingdom, but such self-proclaimed elegance and romantic charm was completely unattractive in front of her. She preferred to interact with mature men.

Although the appearance of the two young boys weren’t as good as her beauty dad, but they were still rather handsome. She always liked beautiful things, hence why she chatted with them just now.

She had lived during the apocalypse in a world like an abyss of darkness, with stench and zombies everywhere, and where resources were scarce. After coming to this world, Yu Qing Qian was passionate about food, liked strong liquor, liked beautiful people (men or women), liked excitement, and liked bright and shiny things.

Qi Rui cast a provocative look at Gong Hao, its meaning obvious—she didn’t like a virtuous beauty like you either.

Gong Hao sat beside Qi Rui and the two of them chatted to Yu Qing Qian from time to time, and she occasionally answered.

The night was getting darker. Yu Qing Qian drank all the strong wine in the cup, tossed two gold coins on the table, addressed the two people opposite, then left the tavern.

Right now, a young boy in red sitting in the corner of the tavern looked at Yu Qing Qian quietly from a distance and didn’t retrieve his gaze until she disappeared.

After Yu Qing Qian left, Gong Hao turned to Qi Rui and asked: “What’s her name? She seems very interesting, doesn’t look like she’s attracted to us at all.”

Qi Rui suddenly slapped his forehead in realisation, “I actually forgot to ask her name.”

Gong Hao glanced at him, “Idiot.”

“What’s the hurry? We’ll find out when we arrive at the Royal Academy.” Qi Rui raised an eyebrow and the smile on his face deepened, “It’s more challenging to chase a woman like this isn’t it?”

“That’s true. How about we compete to see who can successfully get her first?” The corner of Gong Hao’s lips raised, “The stakes remain the same.”

“Sure!”

1like tsundere (傲娇 ào jiao in Chinese) this 中二病 (zhōng èr bìng) also originates from Japanese slang: chuunibyou (I actually knew about chuunibyou because I watched that chuunibyou anime when it first came out hahaha). Literally, it means middle school 2nd year (eighth grade) syndrome. It describes people who act like a know-it-all adult and look down on real ones, or believe they have special powers unlike others. It’s also used to describe people who act immature and younger than their age. More info can easily be found with some research. Should I just write middle school seond year syndrome? Or chuunibyou?

2basically calling him flirtatious.
