Chapter 531: Leng Ling Shuang’s Divination
Chapter 531: Leng Ling Shuang’s Divination
The ship sailed on the sea for more than half a month, then they finally found the mysterious sea realm based on the location on the sea chart.
The sea realm not far away was shrouded by a layer of fog, like a veil, and the scenery inside couldn’t be seen clearly with the naked eye.
The pupils of the two Academies stood at the bow and began to explore with their mental energy, but the layer of fog seemed to have some sort of energy. Once the mental energy fell on it, it’d be absorbed by something like a vortex, and there was no result.
“There are no signs of life around this sea realm. I noticed that the sea beasts under the ship are uneasy and instinctively resisting entering. Everyone, be careful.” Cheng Zhuo released the four sea beasts under the ship and said solemnly.
Mu’rong Jiao took a step forward, “I’ll try.”
After saying that, she channelled spiritual energy into an accessory1 in her hand, and let it fly into the sea realm.
After about an incense stick of time, Mu’rong Jiao’s expression turned pale and she took a step back, “The connection between the accessory and I was inexplicably cut off. I only saw that the sea realm inside is composed of many islands.”
“Let’s go in and explore directly.” Cheng Zhuo sighed.
The ship slowly sailed into the sea realm, and the pupils of the two Academies looked around vigilantly, ready for any sudden changes.
After sailing in the fog for about an hour, the white fog gradually dissipated, and it was wide open ahead, with a clear sky.
There were many islands ahead, seabirds flying over the islands, a blue sky connected with the sea, and the scenery was extremely beautiful.
A lot of spies who discovered the mysterious sea realm were killed as soon as they entered, so there was no detailed introduction about the islands.
“Junior Sister Mu’rong, what do you think we should do now?” Cheng Zhuo asked.
Mu’rong Jiao looked at the two islands ahead and a large island vaguely visible in the distance, a little troubled.
If the pupils of the two Academies acted together, the speed of exploring the sea realm would inevitably be very slow, and the younger generation of the other families would probably arrive soon.
If they separated, they may encounter some unpredictable dangers and not be able to rescue in time.
“Junior Sister Leng, you’re good at divination, how about you try predicting? Should we act separately or jointly?” Mu’rong Jiao thought for a moment but couldn’t decide either. After thinking for a bit, she looked at Leng Ling Shuang and said.
Leng Ling Shuang had been very low-profile recently, as if she didn’t have much presence.
Leng Ling Shuang was stunned, clearly not expecting Mu’rong Jiao to let her do a divination. She smiled and said: “Sure! I’ll try my best.”
She took out a few special things similar to coins to be used for divination, then put them in her hand and began her divination.
After a cup of tea’s time, her face was pale, her forehead covered in sweat, and she looked quite like the real thing.
“The result of the divination is that it’s better to act independently, so I suggest that it’s better to divide into several groups.” Leng Ling Shuang finished divining and put away the coins for divination.
Her words also made many pupils of the two Academies feel relieved. Many present actually wanted to act in independent groups. After all, although the sea realm indicated danger, but it also represented opportunities.
In particular, if they really came across that small pagoda, then who among the two Academies would take it? In the end, they’d still have to fight for it.
Mu’rong Jiao and Cheng Zhuo looked at each other and agreed to this suggestion too.
“How about this, we have a total of thirty pupils. Let’s divide into ten groups of three, and explore the ten islands one by one.” Mu’rong Jiao pointed to the ten islands ahead and said.
Others had no objections, and eventually, they decided on who to group with themselves. After all, it’d be more reassuring to go to such a dangerous place with people they were more familiar with.
1I don’t know how to translate this. Initially google and Baidu translated it as ‘fish shuttle’ but based on a brief Baidu search, it’s apparently a type of accessory typically made from reed used in ancient China. The Chinese is 鱼梭 (yú suō). Flip the characters around and it’s actually the Chinese word for barracuda. But I’m not sure if it’s the author making a mistake and it actually is barracuda, or if it’s actually referring to an accessory. (Actually, throughout the series, the author’s flipped words around either by accident or on purpose as it’s occurred more than once to the same Chinese characters. In general, I would know what it actually is, but this time…) Anyone know what it is? I tried looking for pictures, but I’m not entirely sure. Most of it are either pictures of the barracuda or of random ancient items that are all different to each other.
