Chapter 7: The Boy in Red (One)

Yu Qing Qian’s wood-class variant powers during the apocalypse were very unique. In addition to healing, she also had the ability to befriend plants and control them for combat.

The faces of the remaining two people changed drastically when they saw the boy in red show his might. One of them immediately took out a grey pill and crushed it.

The boy in red, who was originally still endeavouring, suddenly turned sickly as black smoke emerged from the pill, and a mouthful of black blood spurted out from his mouth.

He clutched his chest and gasped, looking extremely uncomfortable.

One of the adult men said with a sinister smile: “Your Highness the Crown Prince, we will send you to the afterlife right now.”

He walked up to the young man in red and raised one hand, prepared to end his life.

The boy in red struggled to resist, but he couldn’t muster the energy at all, and black blood kept flowing from his mouth.

He looked at the two adult men with cold eyes, narrowing them and asked: “Are you people sent by the step-queen’s¹ clan?”

“So what? You’re going to die anyway. If you want revenge, go directly to find the Queen and the Eighth Prince in your next life.”

The man holding up his palm laughed loudly and looked at the young man in red with viciousness, “To be able to kill His Highness the Crown Prince personally today, I truly am extremely honoured!”

Yu Qing Qian didn’t plan on taking action at first, but when she saw the black blood continuously spilling from the lips of the young boy in red, her eyes lit up.

She could see that the boy in red had been poisoned a long time ago, and the black pill was just a stimulant to activate the poison.

She had previously activated her healing-class variant powers by absorbing that young boy before. She wondered if absorbing and refining the poison from the boy in red would have any affect on her variant powers.

Her lips curled up—she had to give it a try regardless, right?

The man’s hand fell with a palm strike and there was stubborn unwillingness in the eyes of the young boy in red. His originally devilishly handsome face seemed to be stained with a layer of despair.

And just when the man’s palm fell right above the red-clothed boy’s head, a sudden change occurred.

¹not entirely sure how to explain this one, it’s literally two words 继后, but it means the successive empress/queen, usually due to the death of the previous empress/queen. Like a step-mother. So step-queen…? Is there an official word for it?
