The Party Begins, and My Resolve.
“And so, after finding out that the person I met that day was Prince Rudolf, I sent Maya with a letter to cut off our relations while also sending one more test to make sure for good this time. A question asking what was it that I gave him on that day.”

After telling everything, Lizbeth bit her lip in frustration.
I see……..Wilhelm tried to use our shared memory to try and get close to Lizbeth.
As for why, that was fairly obvious.
That man probably wanted to have the military might of the Fahlcrantz family in his own hands.
After all, even in the [War Records of Wilhelm], after my assassination, he took the help from the noble families with the Fahlcrantz family at their head, and completely destroyed what remained of the Baldyk Empire.
………no, perhaps even my assassination through Lizbeth’s hands was also a scheme enacted by Wilhelm as well.
“fufu……..what a foolish woman I am, I suppose it’s only natural for even Prince Rudolf to be so completely lost for words huh………”
Saying that, Lizbeth laughed self-deprecatingly.

Not to mention, to have seen through his lies and having managed to actually find me, Lizbeth was indeed not foolish at all.

Her sadness was blown away instantly, and Lizbeth showed a bright smile that resembled a blooming flower.

Seeing mine and Lizbeth’s hands intertwined with each other, her mother laughed happily.
Seeing her suddenly exclaim in a loud voice to try and hide her embarrassment, she looked so adorable that I too ended up laughing.
“Muu………Prince Rudolf, not you too………”
“Ahaha, sorry, sorry. Come on, let us go then. My most precious and dear fiancée.”
I knelt in front of the pouting Lizbeth, and once again offered her my hand.
“Yes……..I’ll be in your care. My most precious and dear fiancé.”

Lizbeth replied politely to each and every congratulatory message from all the sons and daughters of the various noble families that came to greet her.
As you would expect of the Fahlcrantz family, the top dogs of the Baldyk Empire’s military, the number of invitees was incredible.
Well, almost half of them are here only to talk with Marquis, or are nobles hoping to try and curry favour with him though.
Also, it would seem that alas, my betrothal with Lizbeth had not yet been made public by the looks of it.
I don’t know what the Emperor is planning but, I’m sure he has a reason to not reveal that yet.
At first, I wanted to stay as far as away as possible from Lizbeth, and I was even hoping to find a way to annul our engagement but………
“Lady Lizbeth……….you truly are the most beautiful of them all……..”
“…………is that so.”
Ahh damnit,……..that son of a noble, isn’t he acting a bit too familiar with her?
If only our engagement had been public, insects like him wouldn’t have dared buzzing around her…….
My only salvation was that Lizbeth gave them all her absolute zero freezing stare and continued to smoothly deal with them.
By the way, I was standing to the side as a mere wallflower, observing Lizbeth constantly but, what, is there a problem with that?
I did get to escort Lizbeth as the fourth prince but, until our betrothal remains a secret, this is all I can do for now.

Every once in a while, Lizbeth would look towards me, and send a smile my way.
Ahaha……..when we met, all I could think of was how to get away from her, but now that I know the truth, all I can think of now, is how much I want to stay by her side at all times.
But, my thoughts also began to drift towards a certain direction.
My very existence is nothing but a hindrance to this empire. Was it really okay for me to be married to Lizbeth?
Even Marquis Fahlcrantz’s attitude towards me when I arrived here was that of clear derision and prejudice.
Even her mother, while she was welcoming on the surface, who knows what she was actually thinking in her mind………
“What should I do……….”
Of course, I did not want to be separated from her.
She is the only one to acknowledge my existence……..the only one that looks directly at me.
“………should I, really become the tyrant that history wrote about after all…….?”
Such dark thoughts began to flow through my head………..no, this isn’t good.
What if after I became a tyrant, Lizbeth were to grow disillusioned of me, and were to start hating me, what would I ever do………..
I shook my head, and quickly made those thoughts disappear from my mind.
This wasn’t the way. I needed to figure out a method to stay alongside Lizbeth forever.
“………It’s fine. If it’s me, I can do this.”
That’s right. I know this world’s…….and the Baldyk empire’s history very well.
Then, I simply need to use my knowledge and change that history.
——–and turn it into a simple, modest one where I can see her smile, and stay by her side happily forever.
