I AM A MAGE BUT WITH MILF SYSTEM

Chapter 814: Getting ready

Chapter 814: Getting ready

A new wall had appeared just when things were already getting complicated enough.

A fiancée.

Count Azmed.

And, most importantly, the political alliance that came bundled with them both.

Julian exhaled slowly, forcing his thoughts into some kind of order. He would have to navigate this new complication with care – a supposedly betrothed woman he knew nothing about, and a powerful Count whose family had once stood among their closest allies.

The stories from Vanessa and Olivia painted a consistent picture: Count Azmed was a man who prized loyalty and honor above nearly everything else. Rather than severing the engagement outright, which would have been the easier and cleaner choice, the count sent his daughter away for training and gave Kraven one final chance to prove himself worthy of the alliance.

It was not something that just anyone could do.

Even with a hint of frustration running behind his mind, a part of him could not help but admire the Count. He sounded like a noble man.

With nothing else to do for the moment, Julian decided to return to his room. The corridor was quiet as he walked and his mind was busy, turning over the new complication of Lady Elara and Count Azmed.

When he reached his room, he simply pushed the door open and stepped inside. The space was just as he had left it moments ago – the bed still slightly rumpled from the night before, the mana lamp glowing softly on the side table. But this time there was a visitor.

Sera.

She stood silently near the bed and immediately dropped to a bow as she saw Julian.

“Young lord, you are here,” she said, her voice soft and professional.

Julian raised his brow as he stared at Sera’s attire. Unlike her usual seductive and slutty clothes, this time she was dressed in a proper maid uniform. The black dress was modest yet well-fitted, with a white apron tied neatly around her waist. Her hair was pulled back into a tidy bun, and she wore simple black shoes. It made it clear that she was here on formal business, not one of Vanessa’s seductive missions.

“Why are you here, Sera?” Julian asked as he closed the door behind him and walked further inside.

Sera looked up at him. “Lord Astran assigned me to take care of your preparations for the meeting with Lady Elara,” she replied, keeping her tone respectful.

Julian smiled, a hint of amusement in his eyes. “Is that why you are in proper attire this time and not just in bra and underwear?”

Sera’s eyes widened at that. A deep flush colored her face as she lowered her head, clearly embarrassed by the sudden reminder of her previous, more provocative appearances.

“Lord…” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

Julian chuckled at her reaction. He walked over to the chair near the window and sat down, crossing one leg over the other.

“Relax, Sera. I’m only teasing. You look… appropriate today. It suits you.”

Sera lifted her head slightly, still blushing but managing a small, shy smile. “Thank you, young lord. I thought its best to dress properly for this duty. Lady Elara is an important guest, and I didn’t want to cause any… misunderstandings.”

Julian nodded at her thoughtful answer. “So what do you suggest, Sera? What should I wear for the meeting with my fiancée?”

Sera was still blushing when Julian asked the question. The question seemed to catch her off guard, and she quickly tried composing herself. After about a few minutes of careful thought, she coughed softly and said, “I have a few options, my lord.”

She then walked toward the wardrobe and opened it with a gentle creak. Inside were rows of finely tailored garments — shirts, robes, formal coats, and trousers in various colors and materials. Sera pulled out several pieces and laid them carefully on the bed for Julian to see.

First, she held up a set of dark green trousers made from fine, high-quality wool blended with subtle threads of silver for a touch of elegance. They were tailored to fit perfectly, with a slight sheen that caught the light.

Paired with them was a crisp white shirt of the finest linen, buttoned neatly with small, polished silver buttons. The shirt had a high collar and subtle embroidery along the cuffs and hem — patterns of the Astran family crest woven in silver thread.

To complete the look, Sera carefully unfolded a luxurious cape. It was made of rich, deep emerald velvet, designed to drape elegantly over one shoulder. The garment was adorned with several ornate badges and intricate gold threads—each one commemorating the Astran Duchy’s proud military victories, alongside a few smaller pins that subtly declared Kraven’s noble rank.

“This combination would suit you well, young lord,” Sera said, her voice regaining its professional tone as she gestured to the outfit. “The dark green trousers and white shirt give a clean, noble appearance, while the cape adds weight and authority. It shows respect for Lady Elara and the Count while reminding everyone of your position as the young lord of House Astran.”

Julian stood up and walked over to examine the clothes more closely. He ran his fingers over the fine fabric of the cape, feeling the quality of the velvet and the careful stitching of the badges. It was indeed luxurious.

“You’ve thought this through,” he said, nodding approvingly. “It’s a good choice. Formal enough for a political meeting, but not so extravagant that it overshadows the guests.”

Sera bowed her head slightly, a small pleased smile touching her lips. “I’m glad it meets your approval, young lord. Shall I help you dress?”

Julian glanced at her, noting the way her proper uniform still managed to hint at her figure beneath. He smiled faintly.

“Yes,” he said. “Help me get ready.”

Sera nodded and immediately got to work. First came the shirt. She helped him into it and held it open so he could slide his arms through the sleeves. Her movements were confident, but Julian could see the slight tremble in her fingers as she buttoned it up from the bottom. When her knuckles brushed against his bare chest, that tremor became more noticeable. Her breath hitched just a little, and she kept her eyes focused on the buttons, as if afraid to meet his gaze.
