I AM A MAGE BUT WITH MILF SYSTEM

Chapter 880: The royal carriage finally arrives

Chapter 880: The royal carriage finally arrives

“Sera—”

“What?” Sera’s tone remained light. “It is a simple question. So? Did you enjoy it?”

Mira’s fingers tightened in her skirt. For a moment she seemed to search for a safer answer… something modest enough to protect what little dignity she still wanted to keep.

Under both of their gazes, that effort collapsed.

“…Yes,” she said quietly.

Sera’s eyes gleamed.

“Yes, what?”

Mira’s voice dropped even further.

“Yes… I enjoyed the Young Lord’s cock.”

Julian watched the exchange with mild interest as he fixed one of the gems pinned on his chest.

Sera was not finished.

“Better than your husband’s?”

Mira froze. Her lips parted, then closed again.

The silence stretched long enough to become its own answer.

Julian raised a brow.

“She asked you something,” he said.

Mira swallowed.

“Yes,” she whispered. “Better.”

Sera looked openly satisfied now.

“At least you are honest. Most married women would still pretend otherwise with cum barely washed off their faces.”

Mira shot her a helpless look, but there was no real anger in it.

Only embarrassment, and beneath that, the unsettled knowledge that everything she had just admitted was true. Also now that the act had finished, guilt was beginning to creep back in. Julian could see it quite clearly. This was not the first time he had dealt with a woman like Mira.

And he also knew the perfect way to handle it.

“Mira,” he called.

She broke from her thoughts with a startled breath and looked up at once.

“I remember promising you fifteen hundred, correct?”

Mira nodded quickly.

Julian smiled.

“You deserve eighteen hundred for the pleasure you provided me. Go with Sera to my chambers. She will reward you.”

Mira’s eyes went wide again. For a moment her breath seemed too sharp in her chest, and the guilt that had begun to settle over her, faded all at once.

Eighteen hundred. Just for one morning.

She could hardly believe it.

Meanwhile, Sera smiled beside her.

“See? The Young Lord is too generous.”

Mira bowed as deeply as she could.

“Thank you, Young Lord. I will always be at your service.”

With a short nod, Julian turned to the door, opened it, and walked out.

He did not wander. Once outside, he made his way directly toward the main hall.

By the time he arrived, the space was already packed. Every piece of decoration was on full display. Maids stood in ordered lines along the walls. Knights held their positions with polished discipline.

All the main members of the family had gathered as well.

As soon as he entered, their eyes turned toward him.

The Duke was the first to laugh.

“There is Kraven,” he said. “I told you he must have been wandering somewhere. You lot love making a big deal out of everything.”

Olivia sighed and raised a brow.

“What were you doing, dear? The royal envoy is about to arrive. This is not the time to be walking here and there.”

Julian offered an easy, unbothered smile as he approached them.

“I was walking around and got lost,” he said. “The castle looked so different that I took a wrong turn.”

Before Olivia could answer, another voice cut in from the side.

“Lost?” Liam said.

The unexpected comment drew several glances. Liam stood with his usual composed posture, his hands loosely behind his back.

“That is unlike you,” Liam continued. “I would have thought the Young Lord knew every corridor in this castle by now.”

Julian met his gaze without flinching.

“Even familiar places change when the whole household rearranges itself overnight,” he replied.

Liam’s smile remained intact.

“Unless someone is trying to avoid being found.”

A brief silence threatened to settle until the Duke waved it aside with a short chuckle.

“Enough. He is here now. That is all that matters.”

Olivia still looked less than pleased, but she let the matter drop for the moment and turned her attention back toward the main doors. Nearby, Louisa stood among the family gathering with perfect posture and carefully arranged composure.

Yet she did not meet Julian’s eyes.

Whenever his gaze reached her, her eyes shifted a fraction too quickly toward the floor, the banners, or her husband’s sleeve.

She still remembered the conversation they had before and the choice he had left her with.

Vanessa, meanwhile, behaved flawlessly.

Whatever had passed between them the night before did not show on her face. Only someone watching very carefully might have noticed that she did not look at Julian longer than was proper. Even then, her expression remained smooth and polished.

Julian took his place among them as the hall continued to fill with other members.

Finally, after nearly half an hour of waiting, the great gates of the duchy began to open.

The heavy metallic doors moved slowly, their hinges groaning as they were pulled apart. The sound echoed through the courtyard, and every conversation immediately faded.

For a moment, there was complete silence.

Then—

Toot! Toot! Taraa!

Toot! Toot! Taraa!

A loud trumpet blast filled the entire duchy.

The royal procession had arrived.

Every member of House Astran quickly gathered in the center of the courtyard. The Duke and Duchess stood at the front, their posture straight and their expressions calm. Julian and Vanessa stood on either side of them, while the other members of the family remained a few steps behind.

Even low-ranking servants and soldiers gathered along the edges of the courtyard as well. Everyone had stopped what they were doing.

All eyes were fixed on the open gates.

The first to enter were the royal knights.

Row after row of them marched through the gates in perfect formation.

Their footsteps struck the stone ground together.

Clank.

Clank.

Clank.

The sound of hundreds of armored boots moving in unison seemed to shake the courtyard itself.

At the center of the formation was a group of knights carrying a massive banner. It displayed the royal family’s formal symbol, a gryphon with a sword held beneath its wings.

The enormous banner rose high above the knights, its fabric moving gracefully in the morning breeze.
