I Became the Best Forensic Doctor After My Betrayal

Chapter 84 Punishment

84 Punishment

“Why should we open it just because you say so?” Meng Heng lost his temper and made up his mind not to let Lian Jing take her away so easily.

“I don’t like to repeat myself.” Lian Jing took a step forward. His towering figure oppressed Meng Heng and made him feel inferior.

Seeing the tense atmosphere between the two, Wu Zheng quickly pushed Meng Heng behind him and stood between them. “President Lian, we’re also worried about Dr. Shen’s safety. We can’t just hand a drunk female colleague over to an unfamiliar man. Why don’t I wake Dr. Shen up and let her decide who she wants to leave with?”

Lian Jing’s face darkened as he stared at the front passenger seat. His meaning was obvious.

Wu Zheng opened the car door. Before he could touch Shen Yin, the man behind him immediately rushed over and carried the groggy Shen Yin out of the car.

“President Lian, you and Dr. Shen aren’t in a relationship, right? I’m afraid this isn’t appropriate.” Wu Zheng restrained Meng Heng, who was about to snatch her away, and looked at Lian Jing expressionlessly.

“She’s my fiancée.” Lian Jing smiled playfully and looked at Meng Heng disdainfully. “Haven’t you noticed that she’s wearing my ring?”

Meng Heng turned pale. He wanted to say something, but Shen Yin, who had been sleeping soundly, suddenly felt a chill. She shivered and shrank into Lian Jing’s arms. She opened her eyes and looked at the men in a daze.

“You’re awake?” Lian Jing looked down at her calmly. “Our son is waiting for you at home. You’ve been out, drinking until midnight. Is this how a mother should behave?”

Upon hearing Nian Nian’s name, Shen Yin subconsciously grabbed Lian Jing’s collar and mumbled coquettishly, “Let’s go back. We’ll go back now. I want to see Nian Nian.”

“Did you hear that?” Lian Jing glanced mockingly at Meng Heng, who had overreached. He stuffed Shen Yin into the passenger seat and drove back to the Lian residence.

Lian Jing carried Shen Yin up to the second floor and kicked open her door. He removed her clothes in frustration and threw her naked into the bathtub to soak.

“I want to see Nian Nian.” Shen Yin grabbed Lian Jing’s arm coquettishly and pouted her pink lips, looking exceptionally alluring.

Lian Jing restrained himself and tore his gaze away. He said angrily, “See him? You reek of alcohol. Perhaps Nian Nian won’t want you to be his mother anymore.”

“Nonsense!” Shen Yin pouted aggrievedly. Her eyes were misty and she looked pitiful. “Nian Nian wouldn’t abandon me. I like Nian Nian the most.”

“What about me?” Lian Jing held her face and tried to coax her to say what he wanted to hear. “Who else do you like?”

“I also like…” Shen Yin seemed to be deeply conflicted.

In a daze, she thought that she had returned to six years ago. That drunken night when she lost consciousness, she had been with the man whom she thought she would spend the rest of her life with.

“Who else do you like?” Lian Jing lifted her face and forced her blurry eyes to look at him.

But her gaze remained unfocused. The two of them were very close, but her thoughts had drifted far away.

Shen Yin wrapped her arms around the neck of the man in front of her in confusion. It was just like six years ago, when she had passionately thrown herself into the arms of a man. Who was that man?

Her temples throbbed and Shen Yin’s mind froze for a moment. Then, he heard her mutter softly, “Lu Chen…”

Lian Jing, who had just been aroused by her, felt as if someone had poured a bucket of cold water over his head.

He violently pushed her aside and watched coldly as she fell into the bathtub. He looked down at the woman in front of him who was calling her ex-husband’s name. He clenched his fists, his eyes growing cold and stormy.

He closed his eyes. He wished he no longer cared about this fickle woman. He turned and strode out of the bathroom.

Shen Yin fell into the water in a daze. She blearily tried to prop herself up with her hands, but fell back into the water again and again. Her chest felt increasingly constricted from the pressure of the water. She coughed a few times, but more water poured into her lungs.

Her subconscious desire to live made her struggle violently. She tried her best to extend her arm upwards and suddenly managed to get a handhold and pull herself out of the water.

She lay uncomfortably on the edge of the bathtub and spat out a large mouthful of water. Before she could recover, someone lifted her up. The world spun. She endured the nausea, curled up pitifully, and fell asleep again.
