**The Invitations:**

The wedding was set for October on a secluded island.

Before the ceremony, the couple had to carve out time from their busy schedules to handle the myriad details. First on the list: The invitations.

Chi Zhongqiao personally wrote each one. Though the guest list wasn’t extensive, it wasn’t small either. It included Chi Zhongqiao’s industry friends, several close elders from the Chi and Lu families, and long-standing family friends.

By the time he finished counting, the list totaled several dozen people, with over ten of them being Chi Zhongqiao’s personal friends.

Not to mention the nearly ten group leaders from his fan club’s main group, whom he had also invited.

Chi Zhongqiao’s former bedroom had been transformed into his study, where he practiced calligraphy in his spare time. He wrote the invitations here as well. Perhaps because he spent so much time in this room, Lu Yuzhou gradually abandoned his own lavishly furnished study. By the time Chi Zhongqiao realized his little territory had been invaded, Lu Yuzhou’s desk had already been moved to face his calligraphy table.

Chi Zhongqiao: “……”

Clutching the invitation he had just begun writing, he looked up at Lu Yuzhou, who was leaning against his desk, watching him. His expression gradually went blank. “Why aren’t you helping me instead of just standing there?”

Ever since Chi Zhongqiao had sat down to write the invitations, President Lu had been leaning against the opposite desk, watching him, occasionally pulling out his phone to snap a few photos. His supervisory stance was truly the epitome of “domineering CEO.”

Lu Yuzhou rose with a smile and walked over. “But I’ve already forgotten how to write.”

Chi Zhongqiao stood up and gestured for Lu Yuzhou to sit in his chair. “I can teach you again, can’t I?”

Lu Yuzhou sat down, picked up a brush from the brush rest, and tried to recall Chi Zhongqiao’s grip. “Like this?”

Chi Zhongqiao nodded, pushed aside the invitations on the desk, and pulled out a sheet of trimmed rice paper. “Grandpa mentioned you used to study calligraphy. Why did you stop?”

Lu Yuzhou shrugged casually. “Lu Zhuo kept coming to disrupt me, so I gave up.”

He seemed genuinely interested. “What should we write?”

Chi Zhongqiao took his hand. “Let me think… How about your name?”

Lu Yuzhou nodded, a smile playing in his eyes.

“Lu Yuzhou—”

Chi Zhongqiao rested his chin on Lu Yuzhou’s shoulder, their posture as intimate as a hug.

“Hey, don’t press so hard. Relax a little,” Chi Zhongqiao guided his hand, writing the three characters “陆遇舟” (Lu Yuzhou) on the pristine white paper. “See? It’s not so hard.”

Lu Yuzhou admired the result for a moment, then shifted his wrist to a new spot. “Now we need to write Qiao Gege’s name.”

Chi Zhongqiao chuckled. “What’s so special about my name to learn?”

Despite his words, he still guided Lu Yuzhou’s hand to write “池重乔” (Chi Zhongqiao).

On the pristine white Xuan paper, the names Lu Yuzhou and Chi Zhongqiao were written side by side on the same line, separated by a space for one character.

Lu Yuzhou’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Actually, I can write one more character.”

Chi Zhongqiao looked puzzled. “What?”

Lu Yuzhou lowered his brush between the two names.

His calligraphy, practiced with a hard-tipped pen, was usually sharp and elegant. Even with a soft brush, his strokes were slightly better than an amateur’s, barely forming a recognizable shape. Yet, nestled between the slender strokes of the Willow Script, the character didn’t look out of place.

When Lu Yuzhou lifted his hand, Chi Zhongqiao froze, his eyes widening in shock.

Lu Yuzhou had filled the space between their names with the character for “love.”

In the end, they never properly wrote the wedding invitations. Chi Zhongqiao, citing “interference with work,” banished the “malevolent beauty” President Lu from his study.

**About the Wedding:**

The tropical island hosting the wedding, even in late October, remained warm enough for the women to wear ethereal, flowing dresses.

The dressing room was a scene of chaotic activity. Chi Zhongqiao sat in a chair, watching as assistants scurried around him like busy bees, fetching clothes, watches, makeup brushes…

“This blush color is wrong! Where’s shade 013?”

“I’m sure we agreed on sapphire blue cufflinks! Sapphire blue! Why are they emerald green now?!”

“Why this watch? It doesn’t match the suit! Too old-fashioned! Get the one with all the diamonds! It’s a wedding—we need sparkle, understand?”

*****

Chi Zhongqiao didn’t quite understand what was going on. He glanced around and saw the makeup artist had run off to find blush, leaving him unattended. He quietly reached for an eyeliner pencil.

After all, he was an entertainer; he knew his way around makeup.

Just as he picked up the eyeliner, the makeup artist, who had found the blush, turned and saw him. She shrieked, “Oh—darling! Stop right there! Don’t you dare defile your beauty!”

Chi Zhongqiao withdrew his hand and clasped his hands in front of his abdomen.

The makeup artist, sporting sixteen earrings across both ears, darted forward and roared, “Sweetheart, if you touch anything, I’ll string all the necklaces together and hang myself right in front of you!”

Chi Zhongqiao promptly tucked his hands behind his back.

Satisfied, the makeup artist grabbed a brush from the rack and began applying color to Chi Zhongqiao’s face.

Chi Zhongqiao, now covered in makeup, remained silent.

He felt like a life-sized doll, passed around among the various “masters” of styling, until six or seven hands finally pushed him in front of a large mirror.

Chi Zhongqiao was already fair-skinned, standing there with a jade-like warmth, the white suit accentuating his complexion perfectly. He adjusted his bow tie in the mirror, the full-diamond watch and gemstone cufflinks sparkling dazzlingly under the bright light.

The three large windows of the dressing room were wide open, sunlight streaming in unrestrained. The sea breeze billowed the pure white gauze curtains, twisting them into an entangled flower in mid-air.

Chi Zhongqiao seemed to melt into the radiant light.

After a minute of silence, the makeup artist broke the stillness.

“Oh my god, you’re practically my Venus!” The makeup artist exclaimed, clutching his chest.

Chi Zhongqiao replied politely, “…Thank you, but your Venus is getting married today.”

The makeup artist groaned dramatically. “…Oh—why? Why must you be so cruel to me?” He threw himself into the stylist’s arms.

Chi Zhongqiao couldn’t help but smile.

After finishing his makeup, he couldn’t resist taking a stroll around the villa grounds.

Old Master Lu had banished Lu Yuzhou to another villa, insisting that the groom shouldn’t see the ‘bride’ on their wedding day—it would bring bad luck.

This meant Chi Zhongqiao wouldn’t see Lu Yuzhou at all today.

Chi Zhongqiao glanced at his reflection in a polished pillar, then couldn’t help but look back at the entrance. The sea breeze rustled gently, but there was no sign of a ghostly figure.

He sighed silently and was about to collapse onto the sofa when a thunderous shout erupted from the staircase: “Stop!”

Chi Zhongqiao whirled around in alarm.

The stylist, responsible for coordinating outfits, hurried down the stairs. “Don’t move!” she called out.

Chi Zhongqiao froze in place.

The stylist approached him and gently took his arm. “You want to sit down? Come, slowly and gently. Be careful not to wrinkle the clothes…”

Chi Zhongqiao stared blankly ahead, his gaze gradually settling on the reflective pillar. There, he saw a blurry but familiar figure.

Yuzhou!

Chi Zhongqiao whipped around. Sure enough, Lu Yuzhou stood outside the main entrance, wearing the same white suit as him. His striking handsomeness seemed to melt into the soft white fabric.

The stylist startled. “What’s wrong?” she asked, turning to look.

I can’t let her see Yuzhou. What if she tells Old Master Lu?

Chi Zhongqiao abruptly stood up, immediately drawing the stylist’s attention.

Shorter than him by a head, the stylist had to crane her neck to meet his eyes.

Chi Zhongqiao smiled at her. “I…”

He slowly backed away from the lounge area, gradually retreating toward the door. “I just remembered… I might have left the surprise I prepared for my lover in the car. I need to go get it…”

The stylist nodded, and Chi Zhongqiao turned briskly and headed out. As expected, he spotted Lu Yuzhou in a white suit standing nearby.

Chi Zhongqiao quickened his pace to reach Lu Yuzhou. Before he could speak, the stylist from the villa suddenly realized what was happening and chased after them. “Mr. Chi! You didn’t bring a car… President Lu?! Weren’t you supposed to be next door…?”

Chi Zhongqiao grabbed Lu Yuzhou’s hand and bolted.

Lu Yuzhou: “…Qiao-ge, don’t rush.”

Chi Zhongqiao: “I can’t not rush! She’s going to start yelling any minute now!”

Before Lu Yuzhou could fully grasp the situation, they heard the stylist’s shrill scream behind them: “Someone! The groom is running away!”

Chi Zhongqiao stumbled.

The stylist’s shout attracted the attention of the villa’s assistants, turning Chi Zhongqiao’s stealthy escape into a full-blown manhunt.

Lu Yuzhou, being dragged along by Chi Zhongqiao, glanced back at the crowd shouting, “Don’t let them escape!” and “It’s bad luck to see each other before the ceremony!” He couldn’t help but chuckle.

In all his years, he had never been in such a chaotic situation.

Lu Yuzhou didn’t fully understand why they were running, but the soft sand underfoot, the salty sea breeze whipping past them, and the tight grip of his lover’s hand made him smile anyway.

In the end, they were caught and brought back.

Led by Old Master Lu, the elders of both families condemned their “elopement.”

Chi Zhongqiao listened to the scolding while touching up his makeup, still managing to steal smiles at Lu Yuzhou.

Lu Yuzhou’s gaze was as bright as the sunlight flooding the room.

When the official wedding ceremony finally began, the couple was finally freed from the elders’ suffocating encirclement.

After speaking for half an hour without exhausting his enthusiasm, Old Master Lu took a sip of water. “…That’s all for now. Your parents and I will head over first. Don’t get too cozy when the MC calls you up later.”

With that, he rose and left the dressing room with the other elders.

Before Chi Zhongqiao could stand up and sit next to Lu Yuzhou, Old Master Lu turned back. “Oh, right, I forgot to take this.”

He patted Lu Yuzhou on the shoulder. “You go to the next room.”

Lu Yuzhou: “……”

Chi Zhongqiao: “……”

With Lu Yuzhou gone, Chi Zhongqiao had no choice but to sit by the window.

The wedding venue was on the beach, clearly visible from his vantage point. The wedding company had erected an archway adorned with roses and lace. Though Lu Yuzhou had scoffed at it, Chi Zhongqiao found it passable.

The Master of Ceremonies held the microphone, delivering a lively and expressive monologue. Chi Zhongqiao listened for a moment, then tilted his head and smiled.

After waiting a while, he finally heard the MC announce loudly, “Please welcome the newlyweds to the stage!”

Chi Zhongqiao turned and descended the stairs. Just as he stepped outside, he saw Lu Yuzhou also emerge from the door.

Lu Yuzhou smiled softly and extended his hand. “Come, Qiao Gege.”

Chi Zhongqiao walked over, and the two clasped hands, strolling down the red carpet toward the archway.

The officiant picked up the wedding vows.

The MC grinned. “Could you each express your current feelings in just two sentences?”

Chi Zhongqiao pondered for a moment, then chuckled. “I’m not exactly overwhelmed with excitement. It’s more like…” His gaze softened. “A feeling of having waited a long time.”

The MC paused, then turned to Lu Yuzhou. “And you?”

Lu Yuzhou took Chi Zhongqiao’s hand, pressed a gentle kiss to it, and looked up, his eyes reflecting only Chi Zhongqiao’s image.

The MC cleared his throat. “Their hearts are so intertwined, words are unnecessary! Now, let’s have the officiant read the wedding vows!”

Father Chi, dressed in a suit, looked visibly nervous as he began reading the vows. “This day marks a turning point in your lives. The sea breeze and sky at this moment bear witness to your…”

The vows swirled upward with the sea breeze, merging with the distant roar of the waves. They dissolved at the horizon, as if soaring to the heavens in that moment, echoing in Chi Zhongqiao’s ears like thunder.

“…Please exchange rings.”

The clamor abruptly subsided. Chi Zhongqiao watched Lu Yuzhou open the ring box. The brand-new ring shimmered softly against the velvet lining. Lu Yuzhou gently removed it and slipped it onto Chi Zhongqiao’s finger.

His ring finger.

Chi Zhongqiao heard the girls cheering. He glanced back at them before turning back to take the ring and place it on Lu Yuzhou’s finger.

“Did you see those girls?” Chi Zhongqiao asked earnestly.

Lu Yuzhou followed the sound of the cheers and nodded.

They were Chi Zhongqiao’s fans.

Chi Zhongqiao continued, “If they saw it, it’s as good as all my fans seeing it. Now everyone knows—”

Lu Yuzhou looked at him with a smile.

Chi Zhongqiao finished, “With millions as witnesses, you’re mine now.”
