Chapter 550: History of Sarin Part II
Chapter 550: History of Sarin Part II
"Everything in this world stems from Sarin," Ren stated with absolute certainty. "The tower’s structure, the floor system, the way mana flows through Erbeon’s atmosphere. All of it was designed by a single entity whose understanding of reality transcended what any other god could comprehend. He was the one god you never pissed off, because his retaliation would be absolute and inescapable."
Ren hesitated, his expression betraying a hint of apprehension.
"To wage his war against the Titans, Sarin created the twenty-one strongest individuals in existence. They were organized into three groups, each with seven entities, representing different aspects of his power. The Shattered Kings commanded his demonic forces. The Primal Monoliths led his draconic armies. The Celestial Archons directed his beast legions. Together, these twenty-one beings served as Sarin’s generals in a war that reshaped multiple realities."
Jack’s mind immediately connected the dots.
The System notification had mentioned Seven Monoliths when describing his recreated skill. Dragons. Seven dragons that Sarin had commanded, that had served as his generals, that represented the peak of draconic power across all existence.
"That is the history of the world," Ren concluded.
"And what’s better to heal yourself than the blood of trees that were created by the god who shaped everything? God’s Blood contains the divine essence of the entity that understood reality at a fundamental level. It can rewrite your tissue because Sarin designed it specifically to allow mortals to interface with divine power without their bodies rejecting the transformation."
He paused, his demeanor transitioning to a more professional one despite the significant historical context he had just provided.
"But then one day, Sarin disappeared," Ren added, his tone becoming ominous in ways that made the statement feel more significant than a simple absence. "There was no divine proclamation about where he was going or why. People stopped praying to him because there was no response. The God’s Blood trees remained, but their creator vanished so completely that to most people, he became a legend. Forgotten myth that maybe never existed at all, or maybe existed so far in the past that distinguishing truth from embellishment becomes impossible."
The way Ren delivered the information made Sarin’s disappearance feel wrong.
Not like natural death or peaceful retirement, but like reality itself had been edited to remove his presence while leaving evidence that he’d once existed.
"Those who do know who he was," Ren continued, his voice dropping lower, "understand that he was the Avatar of Elements. The one god who could unite all others, but also the one god whose anger meant extinction for whoever provoked it. His legacy remains even if his presence doesn’t. Every Soul Warden inherits fragments of his power, every divine blessing traces back to systems he established, every world operates under rules he defined."
Jack sat motionless on his throne, his mind processing the implications of everything Ren had revealed.
The skill he’d created, Sarin’s Judgement, wasn’t just a powerful technique but a recreation of a legendary god’s signature ability.
That same entity designed the tower he’d been climbing as a staging ground for war against Titans. The world he lived in existed because Sarin had shaped it from raw possibility into concrete reality.
"It’s your choice to make," Ren stated, his tone shifting back into casual dismissal despite the weight of history he’d just delivered. "Negotiate with Glacius for an immediate solution that comes with the spirit’s continued influence on your capabilities. Or seek God’s Blood and use divine essence to rewrite your tissue through means Sarin designed specifically for this purpose. Both paths lead to healing if you execute properly."
His expression hardened slightly, satisfaction giving way to genuine warning.
"But decide quickly. The Council won’t wait forever, and when they get serious, you’ll fight for your life. Warren and Mira were just the opening moves. Testing your capabilities, assessing your threat level, and determining the resources required to eliminate you permanently. Now that you’ve demonstrated what you’re capable of, expect their response to escalate accordingly."
Ren walked closer to tell him some important information, but before he could say anything, Jack asked him a question.
"How do you know all this information?" Jack asked.
"I found the secrets of the world, both in Erebon and in Tarturus Spire. Find his generals or go talk to Tartarus himself. Either way, they’ll give you the information you want because having it isn’t dangerous from their point of view. They’re all waiting for Sarin to return. And finish the war he started."
Jack thought deeply for a moment. The secrets of the world... A thought he never considered.
But what was more troubling was that Tartarus Spire held Tartarus himself. So this tower held someone strong enough to know of Sarin.
"Everyone is lying to Jack. Just remember who gave you information to help you on your way. I ask for nothing but the freedom from this tower for my revenge. And I give you everything in return. Not everyone will give you this information. A final piece of information for you."
Ren Ryzard whispered something in Jack’s ear that made his eyes go bloodshot and almost pop out of his head.
"That’s the last secret I’ll tell you today. It’s a doozie, and it will make you question your life, I know. But you’ll figure it out."
Ren turned to depart, his purple armor catching torchlight as he made his way back toward the throne room’s secondary entrance.
His footsteps echoed across the stone floor, fading as he disappeared into the shadows that seemed to welcome him like an old friend.
Jack sat alone on his throne, his blackened arm hanging useless at his side while his mind processed everything he’d learned.
Sarin’s history, the twenty-one generals, the war against Titans, the disappearance that felt more like erasure than simple absence.
All of it, combining with his own experiences, to paint a picture of reality operating on scales he’d barely begun to comprehend.
Then he remembered the notification he’d received earlier, the reward from completing the hidden quest about recreating Sarin’s skill.
Information about the Moonveil Serpent. The key to accessing the Soul Realm, where answers to the previous Soul Wardens might be found.
’System, display information about the Moonveil Serpent.’
His vision flashed with text as the System responded immediately to his query.
[Moonveil Serpent - Soul Realm Access Key]
[Description: Rare serpentine entities that exist partially outside normal dimensional space. Their unique physiology allows them to create temporary bridges between the material plane and the Soul Realm. The dimensional layer where consciousness persists after physical death. Soul Wardens have historically used Moonveil Serpents to commune with their predecessors, accessing accumulated knowledge and guidance from those who came before.]
[Current Location: A herd of Moonveil Serpents has been summoned to the world of Erbeon and currently resides just north of the Moonveil Shrine within the Hollow of the Sunless Tide Dungeon.]
[Dungeon Classification: Rank S]
[Dungeon Structure: 10 floors, progressive difficulty scaling]
[Map Location: Displaying...]
A miniature map materialized in Jack’s vision, a three-dimensional representation of Erbeon’s northern territories overlaying his normal sight.
The Moonveil Shrine appeared as a bright point near the map’s center, with the dungeon entrance marked half a mile north through forest marked on the map as "Corrupted Woodlands: Extreme Danger."
