I Died and Became a Noble's Heir

Chapter 753: Jack vs. The Red Herald III

Chapter 753: Jack vs. The Red Herald III

The wind swirled around him in patterns that seemed to have no random element. The wind looked more controlled than how Jack looked as he was growing hungrier and hungrier for battle.

His white hair whipped around his head in arcs that traced patterns in the air, his dragon scales catching light and reflecting it in fractured patterns that created visual echoes.

The black veins across his body seemed to glow with their own internal luminescence, creating a corona effect that made his entire form appear to be surrounded by moving shadow and darkness.

Tharaxis’s analysis materialized in Jack’s mind with the absolute, freezing weight of an executioner’s ledger.

”The Herald cannot mount an effective resistance. The impact has completely pulverized his remaining wing musculature, and his structural cohesion is deteriorating at an exponential rate. Survival probability is currently forty-seven percent and dropping with every heartbeat.”

Right on cue, Emberion’s presence surged through Jack’s consciousness like a tidal wave of molten fury, practically clawing at his skull to be let loose:

”End this pathetic farce, Jack! Break his spine, grind his teeth into the dirt, and make him understand exactly what defiance costs! Drag him down into the mud and show this lizard the true, suffocating nature of absolute defeat!”

The gravitational field that had suspended him in the air suddenly reversed, pulling him downward with an acceleration that exceeded normal gravitational constants by factors that defied conventional measurement.

Jack dropped like a meteor, a divine judgment given terrible purpose to impose his will on something he viewed as insignificant.

The air itself seemed to scream in protest as he descended, the pressure waves creating visible distortions in the atmosphere.

The temperature fluctuated wildly, cold enough to cause crystallization in some locations, hot enough to cause stone to begin softening in others.

The electromagnetic interference created by the gravitational manipulation was so intense that it caused visible aurora-like patterns in the sky above.

The Herald tried to roll away from Jack’s position, to put distance between itself and the impending impact.

But its massive frame was too wounded and traumatized to generate sufficient speed.

The creature managed five meters of lateral movement before Jack struck.

His feet struck the Herald’s chest, and thunder erupted from the point of contact, a violence that transcended sound and entered the realm of pure destructive force.

Black lightning detonated outward from the impact point in a sphere of pure electrical fury.

And Black Lightning also erupted from the ground beneath the Herald.

The arc was so intense that it turned the air itself into plasma, creating a visual phenomenon that looked like a small star had briefly manifested on the barren wasteland.

The electrical discharge created harmonics that rattled bones, disrupted neural pathways, and imposed order and destruction on everything caught within its radius.

Every stone within fifty meters of the impact point was instantly vaporized, turning to dust that hung suspended in the air, a visible manifestation of destruction.

The dust particles themselves began to ionize under the electrical pressure, creating secondary lightning strikes that jumped from particle to particle in cascading arcs, forming their own miniature electrical weather system.

The Herald’s body convulsed under the force of dual-pronged assault.

The kinetic impact of Jack’s descent combined with the electrical devastation that followed. Ribs fractured not from direct pressure but from the shockwave radiating outward from the impact point.

Internal organs were compressed beyond their capacity to function, their biological structures overwhelmed by forces that transcended trauma.

The creature’s nervous system was overwhelmed by the electrical current, leading to paralysis, and it entered a state of neurological shutdown.

[-2,587,218 HP]

The notification blazed through the wasteland with such intensity that it seemed to cast shadows across it.

The Herald’s total health dropped to [43,838,486/50,000,000].

Jack pushed off from the Herald’s body, shaking his chest as he jumped back. He rotated in mid-air and landed twenty meters away from the Herald’s current position.

His chest heaved with exertion, black veins pulsing at a rhythm that taxed his circulatory system to the limit.

[-6,173 HP]

The Madness drain continued its relentless consumption, a rhythmic pulse that synchronized with Jack’s heartbeat.

[+30,864 HP]

Demonic Mastery compensated with equal intensity, the regeneration ticking upward in perfect counterbalance to the drain.

Jack’s health remained at [617,280/617,280 HP].

Perfectly balanced at the edge of catastrophe, a demonstration of absolute control over forces that would have destroyed any normal creature multiple times over.

The Herald pushed itself up.

Its massive limbs trembled, jaw dripping with blood so dark it was nearly black.

The entity’s respiration was labored and irregular, a profound physiological response to an overwhelming traumatic experience.

Every movement generated fresh waves of agony as damaged tissue was forced to articulate despite the absence of structural integrity.

The creature’s essence was visibly destabilizing, the luminescent quality to its form beginning to flicker as the damage accumulated beyond the threshold of what even an Emperor-ranked entity could sustain.

Jack’s head tilted.

The grin on his face was too wide, his eyes reflecting the erratic, residual sparks of black lightning dancing across his skin.

He didn’t look like a conqueror; he looked like a starving man who had just been handed a hollow shell.

The intensity of his expression was such that the Herald instinctively recognized it as something beyond human emotion.

This was primal joy, the ecstasy of a predator experiencing the apex of what it had been created to do.

“Is that it?” Jack asked, his voice dropping into a low, mocking drawl that easily carried across the silent craters. He took a slow step forward, dragging the tip of Oscar along the cracked stone, leaving a trail of sparks in his wake.

Each spark created a small crater in the stone, evidence of power so concentrated that matter itself rejected its presence.

“Get up, Herald. Get up and show me why Typhoon let you lead a vanguard.”

He paused, a frantic, manic twitch pulling at the corner of his smile as his grip tightened on the spear shaft.

“Don’t tell me the great Red Herald is breaking already. Look at you… Bleeding like a dog, shaking in the dirt, clutching your chest like a broken toy. I didn’t come out here to play executioner to a crippled lizard! You wanted this war! So get up…”

Jack took another step forward, his presence expanding, the heavy pressure of his Fear passive choking the very air around The Herald.

The temperature seemed to drop despite the recent electricity. Time itself seemed to slow in localized pockets around his body, creating a visual phenomenon in which the world appeared to move in slow motion relative to his continued forward motion.

His laughter bubbled up again, wild and entirely unhinged.

A sound that echoed across the barren wasteland like a predator’s call cutting through midnight.

There was genuine joy in that laughter, excitement, and hunger for something more than material reward or tactical advantage.

Each laugh was punctuated by sharp intakes of breath, creating a rhythm that was terrifying to listen to.

“Unleash that ancient draconic spite! Burn your life force, strip your soul, do something! If you’re going to die beneath my boots, at least make me sweat for it. Give me a reason to keep my eyes open, Herald… because if you don’t stand up right now and show me something beautiful, I am going to get bored.”

Jack paused for a moment…

“If you expire like a common lizard, I won’t even bother keeping your bones as a trophy. I’ll hand whatever is left of your carcass over to Loryn. I’ll let him peel back your flesh, slice open that proud chest cavity while your soul is still tethered to it, and stitch your parts into his next screaming experiment. Imagine it, Red Herald. You, reduced to a chimera’s footstool, a collection of spare organs for a madman to stitch into an abomination.”

“So get up… or become raw materials.” Jack spat with a sadistic smile.
