Prologue
Under a clear sky.
A soft rustle in the wind reached them from the end of the street.
“Look, I can see the city!”
Lexia stood up, pulled on her skirts, and started to run.
“Let’s eat in the city! Luna, Tito, hurry, hurry!”
Her white skin and flushed cheeks were beautiful, and her blonde hair bounced as if it had been cut by the sun.
Everyone on the street is drawn to the sight of her running, with irrepressible curiosity in her colored eyes and a smile on her colored lips.
Though she was only a traveler, her grace, which could not be hidden even on the most secluded streets, told that she was of noble birth.
“Wait, Lexia, stop running and be a little more graceful!”
Following Lexia, Luna rushes out to run.
The silver hair that flutters in the wind is as thin and smooth as silk, and the blue eyes are as clear as a lake in winter.
She is so dainty and beautiful that she reminds one of a doll, but her toned limbs and lithe body make it clear at a glance that she is far more capable than the best adventurers.
Luna, who has the unusual distinction of being a former assassin, is now Lexia’s bodyguard, and she follows her free-spirited master on her mission.
Tito followed behind her.
“Awawa, wait~!”
Her long tail bounced in time with her bouncing steps.
Her big golden eyes and round cheeks are still childlike, and her pure white hair, whiter than snow, adds to her adorable appearance.
However, when you see her carrying a large bag that is disproportionate to her small size, you immediately understand that she is no ordinary girl.
As the large white cat ears standing straight up on her head indicate, Tito is a rare white cat beastman, and she is also a disciple of the world’s top master in the art of clawing.
A princess, a former assassin, and a disciple of the Claw Saint.
The three girls, whose very existence is out of the ordinary, run like bouncing birds toward the town that can be seen at the end of the road.
“I’m going on a journey around the world to help those in need!” said Lexia, Princess of the Kingdom of Arcelia. It has been some time since she left the castle.
Since then, Lexia and the others have continued to make rapid progress in living up to that declaration.
First, they rescued Princess Laila of the Regal Kingdom, who was about to be forced into an unwanted political marriage in the Kingdom of Sahar, and while rescuing her, they exposed the ambitions of the evil Prime Minister, defeated a terrible ice spirit in the Romel Empire in the north and cleared away a cursed blizzard, then they won a tough trial with the young Princess of Lianxi in the Eastern Empire and defeated one of the seven deadly sins. Finally, they defeated an alien beast on a southern island and prevented a terrible eruption that would have engulfed the world.
The three continued their journey to “save the world,” as the saying goes, becoming saviors wherever they went.
As they entered the border town, Lexia’s face lit up as she looked around the old city.
“This is the Kingdom of Laster, isn’t it? I’ve never been here before, but the mixture of ruins and nature is so mysterious!”
The city had a unique character that could not be found in any other land.
Here and there, decaying stone statues and architectural ruins mingle with life in an idyllic landscape where people go about their peaceful daily lives.
In small squares, wells and stone walls, worn by years of weather and rain, are half covered but still serve their purpose, and in the shadows of long-ago brick walls, farmers rest and chat.
Further down the road, stone statues and crumbling temples buried in giant roots are reminders of the area’s long history.
Tito’s cat ears twitched with excitement.
“It’s amazing, the ruins have become part of everyday life!”
Luna also looked at the sights with curiosity.
“The Kingdom of Rastel is now considered to be a small country in the west of the continent, but it is actually also called ‘the land where the ancient civilization sleeps’ because it was the first place where civilization flourished on the continent.”
“Eh, is that so?”
“Yes. In the past, a powerful nation called the Nayuta Empire, the oldest empire on the continent, flourished in this land. The Nayuta Empire boasted an advanced civilization that, even today, we cannot understand, but it was destroyed overnight by a mysterious catastrophe. The few survivors founded the Kingdom of Rastel on the site of the empire. Because of this, artifacts that seem to be relics from the Nayuta Empire era and use mysterious technology have been unearthed to this day.”
“Yes, yes! That’s why it’s called the ‘Land of Ancient Civilization’ or the ‘Kingdom of Eternity.’ That sounds very romantic!”
“Wow! So, is the royal family of the Kingdom of Rastel descended from the ancient empire of Nayuta? That’s so cool!”
Lexia’s face lit up with excitement, and Tito rolled her eyes as if overwhelmed by the majestic flow of history.
Luna suddenly reacted to the word “royalty” and looked at Lexia.
“By the way, Lexia, did you send a letter to Arnold-sama?”
“Oh, I forgot.”
“”Eehh!?””
Luna and Tito are surprised by Lexia’s nonchalant answer.
“Y-you haven’t sent it yet?”
“Because I have nothing to report.”
“No, you do; there is too much to report!”
Arnold is Lexia’s father and King of Arcelia.
Luna repeatedly tells Lexia to write letters to Arnold, who is probably worried to death about her sudden departure from the castle, but Lexia is never able to carry out her instructions.
For some reason, however, Lexia looked very proud of herself.
“But I sent a letter to Laila-sama! I told her about our great adventure on Halwa Island and that we were on our way to the Kingdom of Rastel!”
Laila is the princess of Regal Kingdom, a neighboring kingdom of Arcelia, and Lexia and the others had once saved her from being involved in an ill-advised plot.
Since then, Lexia and Laila have deepened their friendship as princesses.
“I also sent letters to Noel and Flora-san, to Xiaolin-sama and Giselle!”
She counted on her fingers the names of the genius sisters from the Romel Empire in the north, the young princess from the Lianxi Empire in the east, and the girl from the southern island who had recently stood with them against a world crisis, all of whom possessed abilities and powers beyond the norm.
“It took a lot of work to write all those letters. Isn’t it great!”
You should praise me! Said Lexia, and Luna couldn’t help but retort at those words.
“That’s fine, but why didn’t you send them to the most important person of all, Arnold-sama? If you don’t give him some reassurance soon, he might start acting weird out of worry!”
“Because it’s too much trouble.”
“Trouble?”
“F-for that reason…?”
“If I pay too much attention to him, he’ll just make more noise, so it’s better to leave him alone for a while.”
“Oh, is that how fathers behave? I don’t understand…”
Luna was so surprised that Lexia looked completely unaffected, and her shoulders slumped.

Luna and Tito shouted even louder than before.
“T-the treasured sword that is said to have cut through the dark clouds and the legendary shield that can extinguish any flame, did you drop them?”
“That’s why I told you not to run…!”
Lexia shouted as she turned the bag upside down and shook it.
“That’s not all! The ‘magic gun’ that Noel and Flora-san gave me and the ‘Mirror of Truth’ from the Lianxi Empire are also missing!”
“All of those items are national treasures!”
“Awawawa, if someone takes them, we’ll be in big trouble…!”
The items presented to Lexia and the others who became saviors on their journey were all items of extraordinary power and effectiveness that could tip the country in the wrong direction if misused.
Lexia lowered her eyebrows sadly.
“And the ‘spirit stone’ that Giselle gave me… I haven’t even tried it yet…”
The spirit stone is a special stone that contains the power of the spirit; Giselle gave it to Lexia when they left Halwa Island, hoping that it would help her on her journey.
“What am I supposed to do? Giselle gave it to me, but I can’t find it…”
“L-let’s look for it anyway!”
“Let’s hurry and go back…!”
Pulling the dejected Lexia’s hand, Luna and Tito turned back the way they had come.
At that moment, a dignified voice rang out.
“Wait!”
A hooded girl stood in front of the three of them.
She had a slim build and long, slender limbs. She had the appearance of a traveling swordsman, with a graceful sword at her waist.
Her mouth, which could be seen behind her hood, was neat, but she seemed to be in a great hurry.
“A-are these yours?”
The girl asked hesitantly.
In her slender arms, hidden from the eyes of the others, she held a number of national treasures that had been dropped by Lexia.

“You picked them all up!”
“Sorry, you saved us.”

The girl patted her chest and carefully handed the items to Lexia and the others.

The girl who called herself Selene laughed at Lexia’s smile as if a flower had bloomed.
“Still, what in the world is it about the three of you that you have such extraordinary items…──”
The girl who introduced herself as Selene looked around at the three of them, but her gaze stopped in front of Luna.
“! You are…”
Selene looked surprised.
“Hmm?”
“No, I’m sorry. It’s nothing.”
Selene hastily pulled her hood back down and looked away.
Then Lexia called out to her.
“Hey, Selene, we were just about to have lunch here in town. We’d like to treat you to lunch to thank you for helping us get the item!”
“! That’s…
I’d like to take you up on your offer, but…”
Selene looked happy for a moment but then looked around as if looking for something.
When she heard the hustle and bustle of the city center, she lowered her eyebrows and shook her head regretfully.
“I’m sorry for your kind invitation… but I’m not very good in places where many people gather, like… restaurants.”
“Is that so? Hmm… let’s eat in the shade of those trees over there!”
Lexia pointed to a small forest a bit outside of the city.
“Luna makes the best soup in the world. And there are also some rare fruits from the southern islands. You helped us find our most precious lost items, so we have to thank you somehow!”
Then Selene smiled wryly.
“Well, I guess I’ll have to take you at your word.”
And so Lexia and the others met the mysterious Selene in a country that still breathes ancient ruins.
