Chapter 2209: 25.99 Lone Black Star - Treatment

The arrival of the Crown Prince to the frontlines, the first ones to have noticed it was none other than the Grand Duke and the Duchess. They were being cornered by a group of mutated zergs under the command of the Zerg Prince. Upon isolating them in one area, the insect race started killing the other human soldiers and they were about to lose. A General ranked Zerg appeared in the battlefield commanding on field and floating above the Grand Duke and the Duchess.

"The human race has gotten even more cunning. Who would have thought that the weak guides in your race would have the ability to fight together with you in the battlefield. Before it was only you sentinels which are hard to chew would appear to fight against us. It seems we can finally feast on these delicate and delicious livestock with powerful mental energy!" The Zerg General said while looking at the Duchess with a drool in the corner of his lips.

For the insect race, the guides were actually delicacy which not only possessed soft flesh compared to the sentinel and was rich with mental energies they needed the most to get promoted to a higher rank. This way of evolution through devouring was something their race excelled the most. Duchess Mo Jing glared at the Zerg General and used an ounce of his mental energy to sneak attack on him. The next moment everyone had seen the powerful general holding his head and screaming.

SHRIEKS~

"My head! You’ve destroyed my soul domain! It hurts!!!" The Zerg General shouted as he fell from where he was floating and needed to be saved by his people.

Beside the Grand Duke, the Duchess was already bleeding not only in his nose but even at the corner of his eyes and lips.

"You want to eat this lord! I will destroy your soul first!" Lord Mo Jing said before finally coughing blood.

The Grand Duke shouted, "A’Jing, Don’t do it!"

The Duchess had sacrificed her soul domain just to destroy the enemy’s general mind. He fainted in the arms of his beloved while the Zerg General had gone insane attacking even his own people. This kind of mental attack was something so cruel and beyond repair. Unless a god interferes, this kind of damage would lead to the other not knowing what to do and would explode on his own due to him not being able to control the power inside him.

"Brother, escape! I... made the path for you!"

The Grand Duke panicked when he saw his wife fainted while covered in blood. He had checked on his wife’s soul domain and saw cracks within. He was devastated and never expected that his duchess would be this decisive. Hurting himself just to kill his enemy. Hugging his beloved with his eyes bloodshot he glared at everyone around him.

"Someone bring the Duchess back to the territory!" The Grand Duke commanded.

However, the Lieutenant and his other subordinates looked at one another and pushed back the Duchess to the arms of the Grand Duke.

"Master, we will block them for you!"

"Please retreat with the duchess!"

"For the empire! Fight!"

Before the Grand Duke could stop them, his people had already marched forward blocking the zerg from attacking him and the fainted duchess in his embrace. Before he could react, a mental energy grabbed them and pulled the two of them back. He thought it was his son and was about to scold him.

"Ye Caoyun, let go! This old man can still fight! Bring your Dad back instead!"

"No. Please retreat," the familiar voice made the Grand Duke, Ye Jie, turn his head. Only to meet his nephew riding on the head of a huge black flood dragon. Finally, the crown prince and the true main force of the empire had finally arrived on the battlefield.

"Imperial Uncle, retreat with Imperial Aunt. Leave the rest to me," said Ye Qinya.

The Grand Duke finally smiled and sighed in relief, "You are finally here! Alright! We will leave the rest to you!"

Once the Crown Prince, Ye Qinya had taken over the command in the front lines, the grand duke and his troops had started to retreat one by one. Even though they were badly injured, the moment the Crown Prince had attacked most of the zergs who had crossed his line were burned to ashes by his flood dragon. A tall wall of flames had completely split the battlefield into two clear grounds. One for the humans and the other side for the zergs. He met the eyes of the huge ant zerg looking at him who was seated crossed legs watching the scene unfold.

A flash of mirth appeared within that pair of ant eyes and the Zerg Prince mumbles, "How interesting~"

The current wave of zergs were all burned to nothing by the crown prince, Ye Qinya, while the troops behind him had joined him in the battlefield cutting everything that dodge the flames of their commander, killing every single one of them. The crown prince observed the Zerg Prince in the distance who seemed to have given him a smile then he had turned around and looked at his soldiers.

"Grab everyone that can still be saved and go back to the headquarters," said the Crown Prince.

"Yes, your highness!"

Back to the hospital area...

The moment the Grand Duke and his spouse had come back, they were welcomed by the Crown Princess who had witnessed everything through his divine sense. He knew that something had happened to his dad and it was something urgent that needed him to make a move personally.

"Yun’er... Your dad, please save him," said the Grand Duke.

The Crown Princess said, "Father, enter the Medicine Pod yourself before I throw you inside. I can save dad! So just get yourself healed first."

The doctors scramble to support the crown princess but half of them had dragged away the grand duke and all other soldiers who had returned with him to the medicine pods. They were all merciless when they had thrown in all the injured ones especially the dying ones inside the pods. As long as the problem was something about physique alone the medicine pods can cure all of it. Only the guides will handle those whose mental contamination has suddenly shot up and can still be healed. Those who had gone berserk were restrained and they could only wait for the Crown Princess to personally stabilize their minds before the other guides could help with the treatment.

At the surgery room, the duchess had been laid down on the surgery table under the command of the Crown Princess. The nurses had already helped with wiping the blood off the duchess’ face and then turned to look at Ye Caoyun.

"Your highness, the Crown Princess, upon the diagnosis this is an injury to the soul domain itself. The duchess’s soul domains gain cracks from over exertion of mental energy and even... going beyond what his body can control so..."

"Don’t worry. I will handle the rest. Focus on treating the other patients I will treat him myself," the Crown Princess said as a golden green glow appeared on his forehead showing an imprint of a tree.

The next moment the whole room was suddenly covered with the power of life, and something unexpected had happened. Grass started sprouting enough to cover the whole floor. Some flower bushes grew all over the place and tree vines with golden runes surrounded the unconscious duchess. A thin, light green vine slowly moves towards the duchess forehead and the next moment, the sound of a beast cry echoes in the room. This is the sound of a dying quantum beast, the next moment a pure white snake with peeling scales covered in wounds appeared beside the duchess. The tree vines soothes it before it makes a move.

The Crown Princess approached the huge white snake and gently reached out his hand regardless of the latter hissing towards him, this is a show of aggression of something in pain and didn’t want others to touch it. As expected it had bit the crown princess’s hand and Ye Caoyun twitched in pain.

"Crown Princess!!"

"Back off. Don’t follow me inside!" Ye Caoyun didn’t hit the snake and instead gently pats its head with life energy he can control to calm it down. "Don’t worry. The pain will disappear soon. Close your eyes and go to sleep..."

The Crown Princess’s gentle voice echoed in the area, as if the snake had calmed down, glanced at his master and looked at the smiling Ye Caoyun. It stopped biting the hand of the crown princess and looked so guilty and regretful. It seems to have bitten his master’s only son.

"It’s alright. Dad will be okay. I will save him. So go to sleep," Ye Caoyun said.

The white snake lowered his head and leaned its head near his master head and finally closed its eyes. For complete treatment it would take awhile, but preventing it from getting worse was something Ye Caoyun had focused on.
