Chapter 2227: 25.117 Lone Black Star - At the Fallen Empire.

While most soldiers from the cosmos battlefield were on their way back to the empire, the situation at the empire isn’t exactly a good one. After the defeat, most people on the planet Empire were devoured by the mutated Insect race. The human race living on the empire had failed to defend their land and prevent the insect race from landing on their territory. After the small nest that appeared outside the space had merged with the empire causing the invasion much more simple than before and more powerful. After the insect race had taken over of the empire more than half of its original population was eaten by the insect race and the race had run away for their lives.

Only a few had escaped by leaving the empire but most of them had fallen and even been prevented from leaving the planet. Those who were caught were transformed into slaves while the others had gone into hiding, not allowing the zerg race to find them. This group of people were the last survivors of the original empire.

In the fallen empire...

The traces of ruined cities and buildings were found scattered all over the place. The zerg race didn’t take over the ruined main city and instead created a nest at the nearby forest where they can easily make their new nest and stayed on this planet as theirs. At the ruined main city of the now fallen empire, the main city was covered in fallen buildings, traces of dry blood and bones left behind. The zerg race after defeating the empire no longer cared at the places they had destroyed. They wanted to live in places like the forest for better camouflaging to hide their aura and new nest.

The ruins of the former main city of the empire was completely empty possessing an eerie aura which had now transformed to something closer to a ghost town. Now there are two individuals who had appeared in thin air and landed at the broken gates and are now staring at the destruction before their eyes. Some lingering memories at the old city before they were defeated had flashed within her head. It was the God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness. They actually entered the empire early and went into hiding.

To the God of Destruction, sensing the changes in the current ruined city, he felt frowning. However, no one had come over to see even that mongrel brat of him. The Sovereign God of Void and Darkness was also with him, walking around the area was actually not a bag. In reality, they didn’t come here to save people but to find the hidden library which is located at the Imperial Palace which is now no different from an old and empty place. The two kept walking around and finally found the empire palace. Even after he had entered the imperial palace, the God of Destruction kept on walking in a designated location which is the forbidden area within the royal library.

Now that the former empire is gone, the God of Destruction wanted to check about the things in the royal library. After reaching the location of the Imperial library, unexpectedly this area was unharmed by the invasion done by the zerg race. But the insect race is illiterate, so there is no need for them to come to a place completely covered by books that is not worth entering into.

Upon entering the royal library, the rows of books were covered in dust. However, compared to the other rooms, this place is practically left untouched.

"This area seems to have restrictions." The Sovereign of God and Darkness said. "Was it man made or something the insect race had done."

Ye Xiajie said, "Baby, what do you think now? Should we immediately check the forbidden area? Unfortunately, it seems that things that shouldn’t have come had arrived."

"Are those bugs coming?" Hei Anjing said as he returned the book.

The Sovereign God of Void and Darkness, "No. It’s not the bugs. It seems to be... Human?"

"Humans? Aren’t they supposed not to stay in this place? No, there is one more place in the imperial palace where one can hide," said the God of Destruction.

Ye Xiajie thought of another place whose entrance can only be found at the royal library. "The forbidden area? Then it is possible that the Emperor and the Empress are still alive."

"That’s what I wanted to check. Since the emperor and the empress cannot be found anywhere within the empire itself. I can only mean they had gone into hiding. Moreover, the entrance to the forbidden zone is controlled by the key and its caretaker without the royal family bloodline as a guide no one else can enter it." said Lord Hei Anjing. "If those mortals are alive, those brats wouldn’t be too sad when they arrived here."

"I hope that those hidden masterminds will come over in this imperial palace. This mission is hard to complete because bastards keep on hiding. They even learned to hide their aura making it hard for others to sense," the God of Destruction said.

Ye Xiajie said, "How about returning to Vearth first after we finished this world?"

"Good idea! It’s just that the situation that involves the ancient gods is getting tricky. I still need to first see the Ancient God of Origin and End," said Hei Anjing. "Alright! I have found the entrance. Let’s go, A’Xia!"

"Are you not going in?" The Sovereign God of Void and Darkness.

The God of Punishment smiled and said, "No need." He stretched out a hand and let his aura enter the gates checking its content.

Hei Anjing only touches the stone entrance that cannot be entered without the key. After spreading his consciousness to enter through the stone door, he saw what was inside the forbidden area and what is happening right now. The interior of the library is now different from its original purpose for coming to such a place. Upon spreading his consciousness to the small world inside the forbidden zone, the God of Destruction had found out that the Emperor and the princess were alive as expected. The God of Destruction saw them living well inside with the empress’s stomach bigger than expected. This change in the imperial empress is because she is pregnant. This might be the real reason why the emperor chose to live in the forbidden area.

However, when he checked on the emperor, his situation was bad. Not only is he covered in all kinds of wounds. Among the wounds in his body, if it wasn’t properly treated on time, then the emperor might have ended up dying due to his state. The wounds on his body were caused by fighting against the zerg. Without the crown prince or the grand duke around, the strongest one in the empire was him. So fighting with him in lead is normal, it’s just that the power level of two mutated zergs is not something he can fight alone while protecting a whole planet behind him. With so many traitors attacking him from secret. He had fallen even faster causing the total collapse of authority in the empire when he had fallen. To save him the empress brought him and a few royal knights and doctors to the forbidden area of the royal library. That is the only reason they had survived until now.

"Still alive, but one of them is dying," said the God of Destruction.

He looked at his lover and shared to him what he had seen by bumping their foreheads together. The moment the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness had seen the situation of the emperor, he knew what his lover meant by one is dying. The emperor is poisoned to the point that he is barely hanging on his life. In the end, he had made a move and healed the wound on the emperor. He had also made sure to suppress the poison in his body but didn’t help with purifying the poison itself. After all, his ability to cure only works on physical wounds and not on detoxifying poisons.

Lord Ye Xiajie said, "Alright. He should be able to keep his life at this point."

"Well, as long as he didn’t die it didn’t matter to me," said Lord Hei Anjing.

Even though the Heavenly Laws of this world are dead and their restriction on making a move in this world is already gone. It doesn’t mean that they are able to freely use their powers in this world right now. The extent of what this world can bear is still cannot be compared to Vearth. At the very least, half of their original divinity cannot be moved. Once they used it, the world itself would collapse and this world would be destroyed. The God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness chose to watch from the void while waiting for the Crown Prince and Crown Princess’s return to this fallen empire. Their return didn’t take long this time and in just a few months they had finally come back to their homeland which is now occupied by the zerg race they hated the most.
