I Only Summon Villainesses

Chapter 276: Let All Hell Break Loose

Chapter 276: Let All Hell Break Loose

A vast mountain of darkness spread across the horizon. On its surface, twisted and dark trees stood in unnatural clusters, looking more grotesque than any tree I had ever laid my eyes upon.

They were tall though, really tall, to the point where wind that flowed with the clouds grazed their spiraling tips. Each tree was like a corkscrew of bark with spikes protruding from every angle, the kind of thing a deranged sculptor would carve if you gave him too much time and not enough sunlight.

Having to cross that forest had been a nightmare, but it was a good thing I was out already.

And now, I stood at the edge of the mountain looking down at its eastern slope that descended into a sea of darkness as wide as the sky above it.

From that sea, crimson eyes glowed and glared at me, the lonesome being who had dared to challenge them in their home.

"Yes, I dare enter your home, wreck your children, tear your lands, and even dare to challenge you, the godfather. What are you gonna do about it? Whine and cry to your ancestors? And who would those even be, I wonder..."

I chuckled eerily while staring down at the sea of darkness.

’Focus... it’s coming.’

’Geez Kassie, I know that much already. You’re babysitting me at this point.’

After that I didn’t hear anything. Kassie went silent while I stood at the edge of this gate and watched the sea of darkness as it rose, swelling upward like something breathing beneath it.

While it was rising, I also took the time to see how far my growth the past few months had been.

I shook my head painfully as I stared at my main attributes. Infinite Vitality, sitting there at level 20 with that smug little "Awaiting Requirements" tag mocking me.

The requirement had been very baffling. Just to complete it, I had gone to several brothels and specifically requested older ladies, but it had all been to no fruition. Of course, another reason for the failure was because they usually passed out before I could even finish.

Many of them couldn’t even last two hours. Seven was a stretch. A very long one... and I doubted there was going to be anyone who would be capable of such a feat.

Even Kassie... I wasn’t sure Kassie lasted up to two hours. Granted, it was her first time.

I had a very vague suspicion on where the success of this mission laid and where my major breakthrough would be.

But whether endeavoring to give into that suspicion or simply committing suicide was the better option, I genuinely could not tell.

Now, the shadows had risen towards me, standing as tall as the mountain itself and forming into the shape of a shadow wolf.

The wolf had six crimson eyes that burned through the dark with a menacing red glow, each one fixed on me like I was already dead.

In my right hand was the pale blue sword. Frostfang was emitting a thin mist of snow that curled around my fingers. In my left was something far less impressive, an ordinary long sword.

I twirled both swords easily. Despite the fact that there were black-colored weight bracelets on my wrists, the swords felt surprisingly light.

’I think I should try increasing the weight again...’

From the depths of my dark hollow eyes, a crimson light was birthed, vanishing the darkness and hollowness and replacing it with a feral, regal gaze.

As my eyes glowed crimson, the shade of the world seemed to change. A crimson mist exploded from me and seeped into every corner of the mountain, rolling down the slopes like a tide of bloodied fog.

The shadow wolf glared at me vehemently in return. It did not cower to the oppressive aura distributed by [Emperor’s Presence], but it was obviously threatened by it. Its six eyes narrowed, and the darkness around its body rippled like disturbed water.

"Honestly... I’d be a little bit disappointed if you did cower. You’re supposed to be a level 1 Apex, they said."

’Cade...’

"I got it Kassie, trust in your knight..."

I grinned and stood there looking at the wolf.

It exploded forward like a storm of shadow. Except this storm had a shape, a malevolent one.

It crashed upon the mountain. One of its claws was as enormous as one of these trees with their unbelievable heights, so when the wolf’s limb came crashing down on the mountain, it literally tore the backside to shreds of crumbling dust that rolled down the slope in an avalanche of stone and debris.

Of course... I was already long gone before then.

And I wasn’t running this time.

Knives of flames radiated beneath my legs as I stood in the air, waving my sword at the bastard.

"Hey! Hey!! Over here!!!"

It was slightly confusing. This thing had a whole six eyes and still couldn’t see properly.

’What a waste of eyes... I wonder why people behave like this. Even Milo, he has four and still has to press his face on a manuscript before he can properly read a text.’

The gigantic shadow wolf changed direction and lunged towards me.

However, by then I had become a hurricane of crimson flames.

I twisted in the air and rolled downward with a powerful force, taking advantage of both the wind and my own strength. At the same time, I used the momentum to release a torrent of white flames that immediately twisted around me and exploded into a spiraling inferno.

The hurricane of flames clashed with the shadow wolf, darkness and light mixing in a brutal and venomous combination. The shadow wolf tore my flames apart with its incorporeal claws, shredding through them like wet paper, but at the same time my flames were burning its unstable body, eating into the darkness wherever they touched.

The creature let out a screeching howl and dispersed into a thousand smaller shadow wolves, all landing on different sections of the mountain.

I smiled, still floating in the air.

"You think only you can pull that off?"

My gaze turned sharp and the crimson glow in my eyes became pure white like the radiance of the flames themselves. Following that, the fragments of the flames all around me took the form of wolves and lunged towards the mountain.

Of course, compared to the thousand wolves that were all standing on the mountain, I could only manage a measly number of two.

But a win was a win nonetheless.

Let all hell break loose.
