Chapter 356: Unexpected Boon
Chapter 356: Unexpected Boon
[Yin and Yang Spirit Essence has harmonized]
[Your body has absorbed a powerful yang spirit essence]
[The spirit essence is rushing through you and tugging at the walls of your soul]
[Your Spirit Essence has increased]

The messages continued to flow before my eyes as White Feather fell weakly against my body.
The messages did not stop there.

[Due to absorbing a vast amount of yin spirit essence, your essence has reached a threshold.]
[Your soul is expanding...]
"Uh?"
This was most certainly the most shocking message I had seen today. What was this?
’White Feather is not my...’
The words stopped because, as I thought about it, I discovered something very important. White Feather truly was not my summon, but she was a pseudo-spirit, which meant that, to an extent, she functioned the same way Kassie and Maggie did.
"What is going on..."
[Due to the pure yin that you absorbed, the limits of your soul have been expanded.]
At the same time, I could feel something rebuilding. The edges of my mind were expanding and pulling away. I could feel the white light that formed the boundary of the nave pushing further back as well.
I was also surging with immense essence — so much that I wanted to open my status and see just how much essence I had gained.
But I couldn’t, because more messages poured out before me.
[You have gained a new summon]
’Huh?’
Something was wrong this time around. The two times I summoned villainesses, there had been intentionality to it. I had summoned them myself, and there had been a lot of light, charades, and glitter accompanying it.
However, none of that was happening right now. My soul was undergoing reconstruction. I was lying naked on the bathroom floor with a woman who had fainted on my chest after an intense sexual moment.
And it was saying I had gained a summon.
The reconstruction around my soul finally ceased, and I decided to dive inside.
What I saw bewildered me.
The cathedral — the nave — still looked like a nave, but it was something very different now. The hall had stretched even wider, and the pews were farther from the altar. Speaking of the altar, it had been restructured, and a curved dais now led up to it.
The altar was still broken and somewhat foggy, but the nave had grown about three times larger than it initially was.
Kassie stood beside me, her arms folded, looking everywhere with slight intrigue in her eyes.
"This place could fit a hundred thousand soldiers and wouldn’t feel crowded."
Her gaze fell on me.
"Perhaps it is time to start questioning the nature of your soul."
I scoffed, still staring at the nave in disbelief. Even the marble floor was so reflective that it looked like glass.
But this was not where the real change was.
I stepped outside the cathedral with Kassie. The boundaries of the sanctuary had been pushed further back, and what had looked like a white plain before was now a meadow with a fresh breeze. I could actually feel the cool touch of the wind on my skin — and that too in my soul?
’This is sick!’
And from outside, we could see the real change to the cathedral. A full tower extended toward the white sky. Multiple bells of different sizes hung in the belfry, bronze polished to a golden gleam.
Just as I wondered how to get there, I felt my soul obey my wishes, and the landscape shifted accordingly. Where I had been standing was no longer the ground but the belfry, with the giant bells behind me. Kassie stood beside me as well.
It was unbelievable. The second upgrade truly was unbelievable.
I summoned the information about my soul at once.
[Your Soul Sanctum has upgraded to Level 2]
[Soul - Hollow Sanctum]
[The Nave - unlocked]
Function: Soul Resonance Chamber. You can designate two villainesses to the Nave. The longer they stay in the Nave, the less SE it costs to summon them. If they stay for more than twelve hours, you’ll be able to summon them with no SE cost for twelve hours.
’Ah... it went down.’
I knew for sure that I could only leave one villainess here before, and that they needed to remain here for twenty-four hours. But now the time had dropped to only twelve hours. Although the output time remained the same as before, the reduced requirement was great progress—progress I hadn’t expected!
[The Bell Tower]
Function: Clarion Call. Once per day, you can send a summon to ring the bell. You can command a summon, and they will not have the power to override your command or disobey.
"Oh... oh oh ohhh!"
Reading the function of the bell tower filled me with so much joy that I was literally bouncing off the ground.
Kassie looked down at me with a disgusted expression.
"What is it?"
I quickly straightened myself and stood upright, keeping my smile to myself.
"What’s wrong? Nothing, nothing at all!"
She gave me a doubtful, irritated look before turning away to gaze at the far horizon of the Sanctum.
At that moment, I thought to myself,
’Ayoo, wait a minute. I can simply use it now.’
I struck the body of the bell, and it instantly exploded with a hollow, crystalline metallic sound.
Kassie’s face darkened, and she quickly turned toward me with anger blazing in her eyes. But I stood before her, chest out and hands behind my back like a proper master, and commanded:
"Kneel."
Immediately, she froze. Her face went rigid, fury burning in her gaze — but regardless, she went down... on both legs and knelt before me.
