Chapter 359: Fighting For My Right At This Point
Chapter 359: Fighting For My Right At This Point
When I woke up, White Feather was no longer beside me. For a moment, I felt slightly betrayed. I had never experienced being dumped right after sex — no one had ever had sex with me and not hang around for another round— but she suddenly took off and ran?
The next moment, however, I remembered that she had become my summon. It was strange to think about. The Matriarch of the entire Boundless Wave Clan was my summon, and her resources were mine to move.
Of course, I couldn’t simply move them however I wanted. I still had to mind her own rules and regulations, but I didn’t feel so small anymore. I wasn’t insignificant anymore.
That boy who came to Earth and was scorned for being weak now had an entire clan backing him up. I wasn’t going to use White Feather to destroy the church, but I was sure she would serve many purposes useful toward that goal.
’What are you saying right now?’
Kassie’s voice resounded in my head and followed almost immediately.
’Summon me right now.’
’Yes ma.’
It seemed that a remnant of Kassie beating me a few hours ago still lingered in my head because I hadn’t intended to say that. It was like a reflex action.
The next moment, a swirl formed in front of me as I was just leaning up from my bedding. Kassie appeared above me and instantly slammed me down with her foot, pressing it against my cheek.
I resisted, but her strength was far superior. Even though I was pushing her leg back up, she suddenly raised her crimson eyebrow and scoffed, then pushed her leg back down, slamming my face into the ground again.
"You must have forgotten where we started after a few months away, huh? Perverted Summoner."
I spoke, mumbling my words, as it was difficult to speak with a foot the size of a building resting on my cheek.
"Reshpectchfully... I am... I am more schannn thiisssshhh!"
She removed her foot and gave me a condescending glare.
At the same time, I sat down in a lotus position.
She was suddenly being bitchy, and she had been even worse after what I pulled yesterday. Certainly, Kassie was not someone I could simply use force on. I thought we had been harmoniously improving before, but it seemed I had made a grave mistake yesterday.
’But really though... who would resist such an opportunity!’
In my defense, I didn’t see anyone refusing a villainess — an absolute beauty with brains and deadly power — kneeling before him.
’Next time, I should include the "call me master" feature!’
Next time would be when I could match ten blows before going down. For now, the boundary was still six.
’Six is cool.’
Kassie dragged a small shelf, knocking every delicately placed object onto the ground with a slight push. She then sat on it and placed a foot over my bedding. Her fresh alabaster thighs were just behind me. I could see them in my peripheral vision, and the moment my eyes moved would probably be the death of me, because Kassie was looking straight into my eyes with her hauntingly beautiful crimson gaze.
"Now... what did I just hear you stupidly thinking?"
I gave her a defensive look.
"Kassie, you really need to start minding me. I’m a sovereign now, you know? I could simply subdue you with Emperor’s Presence, but I didn’t even do that when I tried it back at Athermere. I never tried it again. Why do you think that was?"
The look in my eyes hardened.
"Because I’m not some young master who lacked authority all his life and now wants to enforce it simply because he can. I want your opinion. I want you to accept me, and I’m willing to work for that as long as needed until you feel it’s safe to trust me with your vulnerabilities. And with you and Maggie, I will do that."
I raised myself, standing on one knee and now almost level with Kassie.
"As much as I want all of that, I won’t let you eat away at my self-worth, disrespect me, or treat me as if I’m just another mortal. I am your summoner. While I won’t force you to treat me as such. After all, I am a Supreme Jerk and Pervert and take great pride in my nature. I won’t allow you to treat me the way you do everyone else, whether publicly or privately. I won’t allow it."
I finished speaking while looking straight into her eyes, my gaze reflecting the defiant will resonating inside me.
For a moment, I noticed a faint blush cross her face, but it disappeared before I could properly register it. She sighed and folded her hands, her plump breasts moving with a fluid, bouncy motion.
"Fine then... I respect your wishes and will give you the respect you deserve. However, never... never in your life control me against my will. The day you do that will be the end of our relationship. And if I have to tear down your other summons to kill you, I will do so, even if it means my own death."
I offered her an understanding smile.
"Alright. That’s fair."
She sighed.
"But back to earlier. You said something quite stupid and naïve. Yes, I say the words because that is what they are."
I sat down and folded my legs.
"You will not use her to fight your war? Don’t be a child. If the world were that easy, would she be in the deep trouble she is in right now?"
I frowned sternly.
"No. Where she is now has nothing to do with bringing havoc and destruction to her life because of my own vengeance."
The crimson light in Kassie’s eyes flickered.
"This is not just your vengeance, Cade. It’s not just your battle or our battle. We are doing the world a good that it will one day praise us for. Do you have any idea the terrors these faith-wielding scoundrels wreak in every city? Have you forgotten what they did to the people of Rivermarrow?"
My gaze dropped for a moment, but before I could say anything, Kassie spoke again.
"And no... it wasn’t about you. They did what they did because they could. When power resides in the hands of a man, and that man sees himself as a king rather than a servant, then his servants must rise and take that power from his hands, dividing it among the sons of peasants."
I looked at her and said coolly,
"Sons of peasants don’t have a good use for power, Kassie. You’ll only destroy the world more."
"No! It will do only one of two things, destroy them or build them."
She was sort of right, but also wrong.
"And what if it builds them into monsters? What if they forget what it took to get where they are? What if they forget the suffering and pain caused by the king they hated? What if their hatred only turns them into another one?"
Kassie straightened her back and shrugged, giving the most blunt and unbelievable answer.
"Fair... we rinse and repeat."
