Chapter 446: The Pieces Are Falling In Place
Chapter 446: The Pieces Are Falling In Place
“How is it that you’re so ungrateful? I just saved your life.”
A dark frown tugged at my brows.
“Well, shit, you also happened to have stolen from me. So give it back!”
Silence reigned between the two of us before I added, with a slightly puzzled tone,
“Sulin, I really tried to wrap my head around it, you know. Why? Why do you have to give me the satisfaction of my life to rob me? Do you like me, but can’t help the stealing part? Or are you just some sex freak that doesn’t care what gets stuck into your pussy? I thought about it several times over and still couldn’t find an answer… So please tell me you have one for me.”
Sulin’s crimson gaze rested on me, her eyes half-lidded and a small smile frozen on her lips. She looked different from the cold, unreactive lady I had known.
“It’s simple. I do what I want to do; there does not have to be a why. Didn’t you also do what you wanted to do? With me? It’s not like I forced you.”
She said with a slight tilt of her head, smiling cunningly.
Something slammed bitterly within my chest. She was right after all.
“Yes, I admit it. But that does not permit stealing from me. Twice… no, thrice!”
She frowned.
“Hey, that’s a little unfair. I only remember taking it twice.”
My gaze darkened, and I pointed to my crotch.
“You took it… with force. I don’t let my sperm out just anywhere. I need you to understand that. So kindly do what the ladies do to make sure it doesn’t become a baby.”
Sulin stood gallantly, raised her chin, and placed her hands on her waist.
“Why should I do that?”
“Uh? What do you mean, why should you do that? You don’t want to give birth to that thing, Sulin.”
She grinned crookedly.
“That is exactly what I intend to do, Cade. From the Auction, I have watched you and a few others carefully. And you have the looks, the strength. I do not want my offspring, who will inherit the throne of Ashara, to be a sight for sore eyes, and I want them to be built with a strong constitution and inherited talent. You’re a Villainous Summoner, aren’t you? You are the best fit.”
I was frozen for a couple of seconds, and then I suddenly shook my head.
“Oii, wait there, stop it. What did you say now?”
She looked down at me and repeated with a casual tone,
“You’re handsome. I want my kids to look like you.”
She shrugged.
“I have no interest in husbands and things like that. I have much more to do with my time than care for some egoistic man, but I want a child nonetheless. It is very important to my plans.”
I blinked.
‘This is definitely weird.’
I inhaled carefully.
“Listen, I think you’re mistaken about something. Handsome face? Good constitution?”
A mocking chuckle escaped me.
“Are you joking? Are we talking about the same face?”
Sulin smiled.
“I know many men, and more than half of them are not as beautiful as you are. You’re a gem, Cade. Stand proud. Perhaps, if I end up not being satisfied with just one kid, I could find you again in the future, and we can remake this experience.”
Suddenly, something seemed to catch fire within my chest.
‘Uh? Strange, this is the first time someone is actually saying nice things to me. Does she mean it? Or is she trying to trick me again?’
Immediately, I realized the possibility of it being a lie, and a dark frown twisted my face.
“You steal from me, then lie to my face. That’s bad, Sulin, very bad.”
She gave me a straight and even look.
“Why would I lie to you? There’s nothing I will gain from it. As for your money, thanks to that fool, we ended up being broke. It was unplanned; we needed money.”
The moment she brought him into the conversation, it was as though my mind kicked back into reality.
And once again, the frown that was already relaxing returned.
“What is it you’re doing with Harter Hammerfeld? Do you know who that guy is?”
Sulin nodded indifferently.
“Of course I do. I have decided to give him the North as a reward for delivering a very beautiful gift into my hands.”
Her eyes drifted to my back, and I glanced behind me. White Feather was trying, slowly walking towards us with a dark and loathsome look on her face. Somehow, I could tell it was directed at Sulin.
‘Huh… what is going on here?’
I returned my gaze to Sulin.
“What do you mean you want to give him the North? You don’t own the North. Wait. Who are you?”
She smiled.
“Cade, none of this is your problem. This is actually something I have been doing for a long, long time.”
I frowned and glanced back.
“If it involves that lady you keep looking at, then it has everything to do with me.”
Sulin finally shifted her gaze and rested it on me.
She was about to speak when a third party came into the conversation, his voice raised in anger.
“What the hell, Lady Sulin?! Why did you have to hit me so hard like that because of this bum?!”
With a cold expression, she turned to Harter, who was arriving from wherever he had flown off to, with Wren beside him.
“One more disrespectful word to him, and I will make everything you have worked for so far crumble right before you.”
Harter went silent and grimaced at me.
Finally, White Feather also reached my side. She glared at Sulin.
“You insatiable witch, until when will it be enough for you? You monster…”
Her voice seethed with venom.
Meanwhile, Sulin merely smiled back at White Feather.
“Lilai, I will stop when you give it to me. I have six already, and you keep making it difficult for me. Four decades ago, even now, you and that overgrown fox are a thorn in my blood vessel.”
In that strange moment… everything seemed to click into place.
