I Only Summon Villainesses

Chapter 546: Get Yourself A Ride or Die!

Chapter 546: Get Yourself A Ride or Die!

Everything blurred. My vision, my senses, everything went blank as something that was no different from the rocky walls drove into me and sent me flying in the opposite direction. I slammed my head against the rock, something ringing somewhere inside my skull, and then I crumbled to the ground.

I wasn’t sure how many minutes or seconds I was out for. But eventually, I tried to stand up. My head felt empty and heavy at the same time, and for some reason, it was in a moment like that that my stomach decided to growl with intense hunger.

Of all things.

I managed to shove that thought away as I pushed myself upright. Blood ran down my face, blurring my vision slightly, but even then, I could see what was in front of me. It wasn’t so small and insignificant that I wouldn’t be able to see it.

“Of course… your ride-or-die buddy.”

I actually felt a bit envious as I muttered.

This bastard fell into this ditch with me, but for some reason, he got to keep his own ride-or-die, while my rides and dies were somewhere inside my soul, unsummonable.

‘Unfair! Unfair!’

I gritted my teeth and silently snarled at the wyvern. But then I instantly noticed something about it.

The wyvern stood in front of Light, blocking me from him, with both its broken wings lying against the ground. It looked like it had, in fact, seen its own fair share of trouble in this place. Of course, it had. This place was not simply wicked to me, trying to agonize me at every turn.

It was evil to all.

It was a wretched place for anyone that entered it. Light included. His wyvern included.

‘Oh shit… now, I feel a little bad.’

One of the wyvern’s eyes was gone, leaving a hollow socket with a pour of dried blood running down that side of its face. There were several injuries across its body, with dried blood covering its scales.

And yet it was still standing.

In the midst of me observing the creature, Light plunged his sword into the wyvern’s large foot, causing the summon to let out a terrifying cry and shove him away with its nose.

Light merely staggered back and fell, while the wyvern limped and glared at him, angry fumes pouring from its nostrils. It did not attack, despite having been attacked.

Instead, it turned to me.

It limped closer, then stopped, lowering its head until it was closer to me and simply looking.

For a moment, I stood there too, my heart thundering against my chest. This wyvern and I had not had the best of relationships, and now it might be convinced that I was about to kill its master.

Granted, the master was under the influence of some monster.

‘Really, how did you get yourself into this shit…’

The wyvern kept staring at me, and of course, I couldn’t stare back because I didn’t want to pick a fight.

‘It’s not attacking me instantly for some reason, right?’

I had expected it to pounce on me immediately, but it didn’t.

‘Maybe, it does recognize me?’

I didn’t think it was just that.

As I stepped back slowly, it took another step towards me. Then, seeing how strangely it was behaving, I decided to look directly at it.

The wyvern suddenly turned and pushed Light away as he was about to clumsily attack it again. Then it sat on its hindlimbs, exchanging gazes between me and Light, its remaining eye looking somewhat watery.

Then it let out a mournful growl.

I stared at it for a moment, trying to figure out what it wanted.

“Oh hell no, there’s no way Beast Summons can be that cute…”

I raised my brows in suspicion.

“You need my help to save him?”

The wyvern slapped its tail against the ground excitedly, while Light was still trying to find his footing and stand again so he could come and attack the wyvern.

I studied the wounds on its body.

‘Were those caused by Light or a different monster?’

I inhaled and stood straight.

“You see, I was actually planning to kill him. I have no plans to actually save him…”

The wyvern snarled at me with hostility.

“Okay, okay, okay, I’ll consider it. I’m not making any promises, but at least I’ll try. But we will have to go hunt the culprit behind this.”

The wyvern stood up, its gaze hardening.

“Oh, wait, not you… it’s dangerous for you. I’ll handle it.”

I said that, but the creature still stood its ground, a hardened, rebellious look on its face.

Again, Light had stood up and was already staggering towards the wyvern.

“Will you at least let me take him out? I don’t think he’ll stop trying to kill anyone.”

The wyvern snarled at me with hostility again.

“Goodness! I’m not going to kill him. I said knock him out. He’s going to sleep really long, that’s all.”

The creature gave me a squinted glare and then slowly moved away from the place, separating me from Light while still watching me carefully.

I walked towards the pretty boy, who didn’t look so pretty right now. And as usual, he came at me again, his hands gripping his longsword as he swung an arc upward from below the moment he reached me.

His initial speed and precision were gone. After the wyvern pushed him, his balance was also off. So it was just too easy for me to slam the pommel of my sword against his hand, disarming him, and then give him a chop right behind his neck.

He froze and collapsed to the ground.

Then there was silence.

The wyvern stared at me before bringing its nose closer to him, sniffing him and turning him over.

Then it raised its head and turned to me.

I smiled.

“I promised, didn’t I?”

The smile slowly spread into a grin.

“Now, let’s proceed into the cave. There’s a guy there that says he wants to defeat the monster. Personally, I think we should beat him to it. So I might have to climb you.”

The wyvern gave me a dark look.

“Listen, brothyy, I also don’t want to do this, but you came to me, remember?”

It sniffed outward and then lowered its body.

Then I grinned.

“The wings are gone, but I guess I can still manage somewhat…”
