Chapter 1426: Chapter 801: Going Through Fire and Water for Him
Yueya was stunned to see how tender Qin Yuan was towards his own daughter.
Even blinked her eyes, it seems her daughter really likes him a lot.
Perhaps it’s because he had helped them out at the start, so he left a good impression on her daughter.
What should she do next? Pretend as if nothing happened?
That seemed to be the only option, as she really didn’t know what else to do.
This was the best approach up to now.
So, Yueya gave up on trying to persuade Qin Yuan.
The girl blinked her big, round eyes and a radiant smile spread across her face.
“Mom? Mom is only sitting on the ground because she’s tired. If Yang Jingran’s mom is tired, then I definitely won’t ask mom to hold me anymore. It’s the same if uncle holds me.”
“I just felt that since mom opened her arms, I should let mom hold me for a bit, it’s not that I don’t like uncle. Uncle is really nice.”
“You even helped me and mom just now, you’re the best person in the world, I really like you so much.”
The girl’s voice was now milky and it was laced with bits of laughter.
It sounded truly healing, with a slight smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
Her mood had improved a lot indeed; she had not expected to be healed so swiftly by a little troublemaker.
This was something he had not foreseen.
He had not anticipated such great power from a little troublemaker.
After a while, Qin Yuan’s lips curled up slightly, and then he looked at the girl seriously.
The girl tilted her head and said,
“Why did you let mom sit on the ground? The ground is really cold, she might catch a cold.”
Before Qin Yuan could speak, Yueya hurriedly chimed in.
“The ground isn’t cold at all; mom is just feeling a little hot, which is why she’s sitting down. Why don’t you go back first? We adults still need to talk.”
“You, as a child, shouldn’t be listening to this, and you’ve already let uncle hold you for so long; uncle must be tired too. You’re a well-behaved child.”
“You wouldn’t want to make uncle tired, right?” Yueya continued coaxing from the side.
The girl stared at Qin Yuan for a moment and then obediently nodded her head.
“I can’t make uncle tired.”
But Qin Yuan raised his eyebrows slightly.
“I’m not tired at all. I can continue to hold you here; you don’t have to go inside.”
Upon hearing this, the girl’s face flashed with confusion and then she turned to look at Yueya.
“Mom, is that okay?”
With the daughter putting it that way, how could she possibly refuse? Moreover, her daughter’s innocent look was too hard to deny.
She didn’t have the heart to refuse; refusing would just make her feel uncomfortable.
It seemed she really had to just agree now, to opt for compromise.
After all, with her daughter here, how could they continue to argue?
Continuing the argument would only cast a shadow on her daughter, who had already been startled earlier.
She couldn’t risk scaring her again now; everything must be considered for the sake of her daughter, who meant the world to her.
Having settled on this thought, Yueya nodded her head.
The girl remained happily in Qin Yuan’s arms.
It was evident that she felt very secure.
Ling Yu subtly tensed up, not knowing what he had done wrong, and why they wouldn’t let him hold her.
But he didn’t ask again, as he had already asked once.
Asking again would seem impolite, and the answer would be the same anyway.
So, there really was no need.
After a moment, Ling Yu eventually diverted his gaze and sighed softly to himself.
Just as Ling Yu looked up again, his gaze collided with Yueya’s.
They met each other’s eyes unexpectedly.
Neither of them spoke, and silence spread between them, creating a subtle atmosphere.
Even the quiet surroundings added to the feeling, and everyone noticed this scene—including Qin Yuan.
Suddenly, the girl voiced a question.
“Uncle, what are mom and he doing?”
“It’s nothing.” Qin Yuan brushed it off.
After all, he couldn’t possibly tell the girl that the two adults had issues.
They wouldn’t be staring at each other for no reason.
There might actually be a problem.
But Qin Yuan remained silent.
The girl glanced at Yueya, then at Ling Yu.
Her eyes kept moving back and forth.
She just didn’t understand what was going on.
The moment Yueya heard the girl’s voice, she snapped back to her senses.
She gently withdrew her gaze as well; it was just a moment of silent communication with Ling Yu.
She feared that Ling Yu might not have understood, and all would have been in vain had he not. She hoped he would understand.
At that moment, Qin Yuan’s expression turned slightly cold.
“What are you two doing?”
His tone was neutral, startling the girl in his arms.
But he quickly recovered and gently soothed her, settling her down.
Yueya immediately shook her head.
Ling Yu remained silent for a moment then slowly said,
“Actually, I think it’s still necessary for you to take her back to her bed. After all, what comes next is between us. We need to handle it properly.”
“Don’t let the girl get involved. After all, children should not interfere with adult matters, even if she wants to watch, it’s not permissible.”
