I Was Caught up in a Hero Summoning, but That World Is at Peace (WN)

Chapter 2411 - Spreading Aftermath ⑫

Chapter 2411 - Spreading Aftermath ⑫

As expected of a massive bookstore, there were all sorts of sections besides the magazine area, and countless books that caught my eye; before I knew it, I’d ended up buying quite a lot.

I guess the thought that I didn’t know when I’d next come here made me want to pick up the rarer ones while I could.

That said, I couldn’t help but notice an absurd amount of maid-related books. For example, in the Cooking Recipe section, there was a book titled <The Culinary Arts of a First-Class Maid>, and in the section about tea, there was one called <The Refinement of a Maid – Tea Edition>. I even spotted titles like <Cleaning Techniques As Taught by Maids>.

Well, that much is still fine…… no, it’s not fine, but at least it’s within the realm of understanding. However, when I saw that there was <The History of Maids> sitting in the history section, or a massive exam prep book for something called Maidology, supposedly covering the test to become a maid, or combat-related books like <Maid-Style Fluid Movements> and <Combat Techniques Suited for Maid Uniforms>, I couldn’t help having a very complicated expression on my face.

I mean seriously, why does every single genre have its own independent maid category? That’s terrifying. The Maid World is an outright abyss.

When it comes to maid-related matters, I can almost feel my sense of normality being eroded away…… Wait, hold on. I’ve already moved to this world, haven’t I? Which means that, in practice, this world’s version of “maids” will eventually become my new normal huh…… that’s a really unpleasant thought.

A- Anyway, for now, I’ll just deal with this by pretending not to see anything about maid culture. If Lilia-san herself is uninformed about maid-related stuff, or chooses not to be, it should be a world I don’t need to get involved with.

Well, the problem is that in my case, it’s the Maid World that keeps approaching me…… mainly because of Ein-san, but still……

Thinking about all that, I left the store and stored the books I’d bought into my magic box. This wasn’t unique to this store, but generally, taking out your magic box inside was forbidden to prevent shoplifting.

There were exceptions though, if you’d bought a lot, you could tell the cashier, “I’ll be taking these home in my magic box”, and pack them then. Basically, it was fine at checkout, but not anywhere else inside.

[……Three o’clock huh……]

I murmured, glancing at the time. Still plenty of time left. Since I was already out in the Imperial Capital of the Archlesia Empire…… maybe I should stop by a monster pet goods store too?

Archlesia Empire was famous for its monster races, so there were far more people who kept monsters as pets compared to other countries, and the specialty shops were well stocked.

Of course, I like to think I’ve gathered only the best gear for Bell and Lynn, but just like Victor Trading Company’s special brush, there are still plenty of items I don’t know about.

Visiting pet goods shops is actually pretty fun; you sometimes find clever little gadgets or interesting new products.

Recently, I even bought a moisturizing cream for the paw pads of beast-type pets. Bell has paw pads too, and she loves that cream, often begging for it herself.

Though honestly, in Bell’s case…… I think she sees the whole “applying cream to her paws” part less as skincare and more as playtime with me. For her, the moisturizing cream seems to be like a ball or frisbee is for a dog. Basically, a toy.

So, even though she’s the one asking for it, she tends to wriggle around a lot while I’m applying it, playing the entire time, making it pretty hard to spread evenly…… but well, she’s so cute that I can’t possibly complain……

I’d been to the monster pet supply store several times before, so I knew exactly where it was and walked there without hesitation.

After a while, I entered a street lined with luxury shops, meaning my destination was close. As expected, keeping a monster as a pet wasn’t something just anyone could afford, so the monster pet supply store was located in a high-end shopping district. This area seemed to cater mostly to the nobility, with upscale stores everywhere.

Particularly in Archlesia Empire, the influence of the nobility was apparently very strong. Even in districts like this, the level of refinement and extravagance seemed to exceed that of the Symphonia Kingdom…… Unn?

As I casually looked around at the shops along the way, I suddenly spotted a familiar figure. Standing in front of a luxury clothing boutique, pacing back and forth with a somewhat hesitant look, was Marie-san.

I had no idea why Marie-san was in the Imperial Capital, but from the look of it…… she’d probably come to buy clothes, only to be overwhelmed by the intimidating aura of a high-end store, unable to bring herself to go inside…… Well, since I happened to see her, I might as well go over and say hello.

<Afterword>

Serious-senpai : [So, if Baron Ritch isn’t around and it’s just Marie, that probably means something happened after the exchange at the temple, Baron Ritch went somewhere else, and Marie came here alone to buy clothes with the money she got huh? I guess the details about that will be revealed next time? Anyway…… looks like we’ve got some follow-up on that after all……]
