I don’t have much time today, so today’s chapter is a bit short.

After enjoying tea and cake with Kaito at the café, and since the time for her pickup was drawing near, Marie parted ways with Kaito there, each going their separate ways at the café, and Marie moved to the place where her pickup was scheduled to arrive, as previously arranged.

Up until now, Marie had been floating in a dreamlike haze. It was a feeling brought about entirely because of an unreasonable situation and an unreasonable existence like Kaito. But once she separated from him and had a moment to breathe, reality sped up and crept right up behind her all at once.

Originally, someone from the Hamilton Marquisdom was supposed to pick her up, and she was supposed to meet her father afterward at Marquis Hamilton’s residence. However, when he heard there was a possibility that Marie might unexpectedly encounter Kaito again at the Hamilton estate, Baron Ritch became worried and came to pick her up himself.

Marie’s face grew so drained of color it seemed as though all the blood had left it, and she began trembling violently, sweat pouring down her in large drops.

Seeing her in such an abnormal state, Baron Ritch was confused, but he somehow managed to get Marie into the carriage. Even after she sat down in the seat, Marie’s trembling didn’t calm, in fact, it grew worse and worse. It was immediately clear that something was very wrong.

With her invincibility mode gone, everything she had been avoiding came crashing into her mind all at once. Unable to withstand the torrent of information and emotion flooding her head, Marie lost consciousness.

This, of course, left Baron Ritch troubled. He understood that something serious had happened, and Marie had said something terrifying about having committed disrespect towards Kaito, but he had no idea what the details were.

And without knowing those details, there was nothing he could do…… Holding the unconscious Marie in his arms, Baron Ritch could only stare blankly, his own face turning pale.
