Chapter 2586 - Demon Realm Amusement Park ⑰
The Forest Area truly felt like being inside a gigantic forest, but as expected, or perhaps as one would expect from a place like this, you could see all sorts of clever design choices that made it suitable as a theme park.
First of all, every tree was enormous and towering. Even though there were many of them, the leaves and branches were located so high overhead that there was none of the cramped feeling that dense forests often create.
Furthermore, something I’d already noticed in the previous Aqua Area was present here as well: visibility had been carefully considered. The spaces between the trees were wide enough that your line of sight wasn’t obstructed when looking around, creating an open and spacious environment while still maintaining the atmosphere of being deep within a forest.
If I had to describe it, it felt like a forest of giant trees. Every tree was so massive that, from the perspective of humans our size, there was plenty of room to move around comfortably.
[This feels different from both Rigforesia and Yggfresis. It isn’t dark or anything, but you can’t see the sky.]
[According to the brochure, there seem to be Elevation Magic Tools installed throughout the area. Much like the rocky shores and ocean sections in the Aqua Area, perhaps this area is divided into two levels: the forest floor among the trees and the treetops above?]
In response to Lilia-san’s observation, Luna-san looked through the brochure and offered her thoughts. Sure enough, when I checked more carefully, I found mentions of the Elevation Magic Tools. Even the attractions had labels such as “Upper” and “Lower” next to their names, so it seemed Luna-san was right, this area was divided into upper and lower sections.
[In that case, maybe it would be best to ride one attraction in the lower area and one in the upper area?]
[I agree with Master’s assessment. If we’re planning to choose only two or three attractions per area, that would be the most balanced approach. The problem is deciding which ones to ride…… In the world you all come from, what kinds of attractions are considered standard in places like this?]
At Anima’s question, Hina-chan, Aoi-chan, and I all fell into thought.
[……I wonder. There’d probably be something like a coaster……]
[It’s hard to imagine. I mean, a few ideas come to mind, but none of them really feel unique to a forest-themed area. They’re just attractions you’d expect to find in any theme park.]
[When it comes to plants, I tend to think more of scenery and sightseeing than attractions……]
That was exactly the issue. When I heard “an area full of trees”, no particular attraction immediately came to mind. Sure, things like roller coasters or teacup rides seemed plausible enough, but whether those felt especially fitting for a Forest Area was another matter entirely.
Even looking through the brochure, it was difficult to guess what kind of attractions these actually were. It’s easier to imagine what the Aqua Area contained because of its lakes, rocky coastlines, and ocean theme, but this……
[……You know what? Let’s just cheat.]
[Kaito-senpai? What do you mean by cheat?]
No matter how much we thought about it, we weren’t likely to come up with some brilliant answer. If we had more time, I could’ve suggested trying a variety of attractions, but since we were limiting ourselves to only a few rides in each area, I wanted to make sure we experienced the main highlights.
With that in mind, I muttered quietly before turning the brochure toward the people behind us.
[……So, Alice. Which rides would you recommend?]
[If you’re only picking two, I’d recommend Forest Castle and Sky Tree.]
[You seriously named it Sky Tree……?]
[It’s a tree towering up toward the sky, so it’s a great name, isn’t it?]
[No, you absolutely knew what you were doing when you named that……]
Since we didn’t know which attractions to choose, we decided to ask the creator herself. Alice’s answer was Forest Castle and Sky Tree.
Forest Castle was one thing. While it was hard to imagine exactly what a “castle in the forest” entailed, the name at least conveyed a sense of grandeur.
The problem was Sky Tree. There was no way this was a coincidence. Alice knew far too much about our world for that. I was certain she’d named it as one of those little references that would make visitors from another world go “Huh?”.
Of course, Kuro had no way of knowing what Sky Tree referred to and simply accepted it as a perfectly normal attraction name.
[Well, setting aside the questionable naming choice…… Sky Tree is closer to where we are right now.]
[Arehh? But Aoi-senpai, look at this…… Both Sky Tree and Forest Castle are marked as “Lower”. Does that mean neither of them is in the upper area?]
[Looks that way. But considering it’s Alice-sama we’re talking about, I’m sure she has something in mind. I think it’d be best to follow her recommendation.]
Partly because they regularly shopped at her weapon store and often received advice from her as fellow adventurers, Aoi-chan and Hina-chan placed a great deal of trust in Alice.
Well, I do feel the same way. Even if both attractions were located in the lower area, there was probably some reason Alice had chosen them. Lilia-san and the others didn’t seem to have any objections either, so we decided that our first destination would be Sky Tree.
<Afterword>
? ? ? : [Man, Alice-chan really is trusted by everyone. This is totally the result of her everyday conduct. You can really see the purity of Alice-chan’s heart shining through here.]
Serious-senpai : [……No, I think it’s more because you’re ridiculously devoted whenever it comes to Kaito. In a situation like this, where Kaito is specifically asking for your advice, nobody expects you to slip in a prank or mess around……]
