Chapter 598: Making Friends hasn’t ever been Easier?

"WE’LL GET YOU BACK FOR THIS!"

Door slam!

Lillian watched the bullies run away with a look of indifference. ’Such a cliche line...’ She thought, soon turning to Aurelia, who was found sitting on the ground in front of a toilet - her face drenched in its water.

The Rabbit watched as the noblewoman coughed heavily, trying to expel the water that clogged up the inside of her nose.

Afterwards, she would grip the rim of the toilet bowl before—

"E-EEURGH-!"

—Throwing up; all the food she had just eaten was emptied from her stomach.

Lillian’s gaze softened, her eyes filled with pity; she sympathised with the woman. Imagine eating to your heart’s content before being forced by the urge to throw up because your face was dunked in toilet water.

She had experienced that several times. And each time it happened, she would always be left hungry afterwards.

Subconsciously, Lillian had begun to pat the woman’s back - comforting and waiting for her to finish. When Aurelia eventually pulled her head out from the toilet, she quickly got up to go wash her face at the sink - unfortunately, washing away her beautiful make-up.

Fortunately, her face still remained beautiful with or without.

Whilst turning off the tap, she turned to Lillian - allowing the Rabbit to get a better look at the girl’s soft hazel eyes.

Aurelia gave Lillian a deep, appreciative look.

"T-thank you for, uhm... helping me out..." Aurelia muttered, greatly embarrassed, "You really didn’t need to go out of your way for someone like me..."

Lillian snorted and waved her hand dismissively. "Psht, I’d be a bad person if I didn’t help you out. And I’m glad to help."

The Rabbit then tilted her head.

"We got to the same school, don’t we? It only makes sense that I would help you out. I also just dislike bullying in general" Lillian then paused for a split second, "How are you feeling anyway? Anywhere hurting? Or maybe a bit of hunger?"

Pulling a white towel from her spatial storage, Aurelia smiled self-deprecatingly.

"Besides my hair, nowhere really hurts. As for hunger..." The woman lowered a hand down to her stomach, feeling it grumble out of dissatisfaction.

"I might be a bit hungr—"

Rumble...!

Aurelia’s face slowly turned red as the noise from her stomach resounded surprisingly loud; she became deeply embarrassed.

Lillian couldn’t help but chuckle at this.

"I’m glad it’s just that. We still have some time left for you to eat, but first: would you like me to help fix your hair?"

"O-oh, no, you don’t have to—"

"It’s fine~ it’s fine~"

Already having made her way behind the woman, Lillian gently grasped the woman’s hair before meticulously trying to return it back to how it used to look.

"You really should fight back, even just a little," Lillian muttered partway through, unconsciously feeling a sense of protectiveness over the bullied victim.

Aurelia became even more embarrassed, even more so by how gentle Lillian was being.

"I know..." she quietly whispered. "But there’s not much point if I can’t prove it was in self-defense..."

The poor woman would always be dragged into an isolated area, and she feared false rumours more than anything.

Lillian’s gaze turned softer, even perhaps motherly, "There is always some kind of way to get proof. A video recording of them doing it is good proof."

"But what if they said I fabricated it?" Aurelia responded, having already thought of doing it.

"Then, you can choose to get even more proof." Lillian answered, tying the last lock of Aurelia’s hair.

Patting the woman’s shoulder, she walked over to her front.

"If gathering evidence still fails or if you’re too uncertain..." Lillian gave a pure and innocent grin, "Just beat them up until they’re too scared to mess with you, simple~ sometimes violence is the answer to things."

Aurelia still appeared uncertain, "But what if I get in trouble with the disciplinary committee? The Student Council, I mean. The use of abilities against other students is prohibited..."

Hearing this, Lillian’s wide grin slowly morphed into a genuine and caring smile. "If anyone from the Student Council confronts you, tell them Lillian Ker Arius told you to do it. I’ll be sure to handle it."

The woman tilted her head, confused for a split second, before a thought popped into her head.

Could it be that Lillian was hinting that she had deep connections to someone on the Student Council?

She had heard rumours circulating around that Lillian had close connections to the Student President, otherwise known as the second year, Beatrice Ker Zerken.

Maybe Lillian was implying she could pull a few strings to allow her some ease, in case she got into trouble...

While in her thoughts, Aurelia soon snapped awake upon seeing Lillian stretch out a hand for her to meet.

"Our academy is for those who want to learn and secure their future. We can’t have people set out on sabotaging others to disrupt that flow, so do use my name if you find yourself in a sticky situation - I have quite the reputation at school."

Aurelia found herself stunned at what she heard. She knew about Lillian; in fact, she heard about the girl almost every day at school.

She would always hear about how a beautiful, Tier 2 mage with white hair in the top class performed exceptionally in every lesson they were a part of.

From academics to practical work, everyone made it sound like she was capable of doing everything. Another thing she heard about the most was that she always hung around Marionette Von Roselle, who would’ve taken first place in the entrance exam if it weren’t for Lillian.

And she knew first-hand how powerful the Roselle was, for during the horrific invasion of the academy, she was rescued by the black-haired woman inside the girls’ dormitory.

To say she was envious of Marionette’s strength would be an understatement.

Despite coming from a wealthy background with plenty of resources, she wouldn’t say she had... the best talent when it came to magic.

So that meant she would have to rely on networking with people to get what she wanted in the future. Humans were social creatures, so to do anything with efficiency, she would need allies.

Especially an ally where they would be considered the top of the ’food chain’, in their year.

With a determined look on her face, she grasped Lilliian’s hand and nodded strongly:

"Then, I hope you don’t mind me using your name a lot when we come back to school."

"Mhm, mhm~ I wouldn’t mind at all."

"I see... Then, please do take care of me, big sister Lillian!"

"B-big sister, eh?"

Lillian smiled wryly at what she heard. She remembered that Aurelia would tend to refer to those she saw as close and safe to be around with familial titles - regardless of age.

’Already see me so close?’ Lillian narrowed her eyes slightly before relaxing, ’It’s to be expected...’

Aurelia was one of the people who had taken a swig of Damien’s wine; thus, any sort of close interaction with the girl would double in effect when it came to gaining their trust.

Her little gesture earlier of tying the woman’s hair was all so she could get closer to her - it’s always helpful to have a few friends around in every industry, just so she could cash in favours or make requests.

In this case, making friends with Aurelia would possibly allow her some line into acquiring high-quality clothing; possibly, even at an enormous discount or even free!

’Making friends truly hasn’t ever been easier than this...’

"Well then, little sister, your big sister will happily take care of you."

After Aurelia applied a few products on herself to make her appear appropriate and fine, they left the restroom. And Aurelia was about to ask questions in hopes of getting to know her new big sister, specifically, why she was in a maid uniform—

"Oh? The maid finally decided to stop hiding and step out from the restroom~..."

—They were met with a despical young man with steel-grey hair.

Damien Von Darkhound.
